- This video shows a 30" Toro Timemaster engine swap to a Kohler commercial engine that has a 3 year commercial warranty. This is a direct replacement on older Timemaster models before 2017 or serial numbers starting with 316000000 or lower. Newer models after serial number 316999999 and above require a bolt removal under the engine or you can grind half of the bolt head off down to 3mm thick. You will see this in the video.
Just got my Kohler Command Pro engine from you guys through Amazon. Can’t wait to install it but gotta wait til spring because it’s winter in Michigan.
Hope it works out well.
It’s great to work on a brand new clean one, thanks 🙏
Yeah I feel like I am cheating.
Leave the front belt shield off! Better to be able to clean the crud after every use. Upgrade blade pulley set to the heavy duty one like that of the commercial version. Replace blade activation control cable for that has a metal end rather than that cheap plastic one that WILL break. Use Gator mulching blades…. There! now your set!
Or just buy the Turfmaster.
Still yet buy one these engines
Yes
Can you do a video showing us how the mower blades are engaged.
I can, Could you be more specific as to anything particular you want to see. The most important thing is to go slowly.
What did you do with the brand new engine you took off?
We sell them online that way it balances out the cost to do this swap.
So you sell that one already?
Are the Briggs that bad? Will they not last five years atleast?
Depends on how you take care of them. I think the biggest issue is they just dont hold enough oil in them.
@BPoutdoorpowerequipment Good to know.
Can l just buy this one only with the 2025 casters kit installed
The caster kit is not available yet. Not sure when it will be and if it will be any good.
I have a time master that leaks from the valve cover. I've tightened the bolts but it still leaks. Is there a torque spec for the valve cover bolts?
There most likely is a torque spec but I have never followed it. I would check to see if the valve cover mounting surface is flat. Sounds like yours might be warped you can try to tap it flat with a hammer.
@@BPoutdoorpowerequipment Are the stock engines prone to leaking from the valve cover area? I've replaced the head cylinder and it still leaks.
I had a 1yo B&S engine fail. It was replaced without knowledge there was a Koehler option. This video is useless without any explanation. All it shows is that you can swap motors. You don't even describe how you did it, say why you did it or the cost of doing it. Had hoped for some basic answers.
This was one of our first videos we plan on remaking it as soon as we can get some more engines in stock. Hopefully soon. Thank you for the useful comments.
