I've been playing and listening music all my life so technical ability in itself no longer impresses me the way it did when I was a kid. Anybody can become technically good with lots of practice and dedication. What amazes me are what players like Matteo and Guthrie Govan have. A rich vocabulary, the ability to construct memorable lines that flow naturally and tell a story, not repeating oneself and regurgitate the same phrases... It's the intangibles. It relates to your personality and brain chemistry. It's the things that you can't just practice over and over and eventually get good at.
True, but at the same time it s also a matter of training impro skills and study great guitarists to assimilate their lines in your hands and then play them inconsciously. Something many don t understand nowadays it s that you can and should train your impro skills. It s not like someone who only does technical exercises automatically is a good improviser out of talent
THIS! Well said! And I would like to confirm that this is also not quite measurable: some musicians literally sing with their instrument while telling that story you were talking about. They touch the heart/soul. That's real musicianship. Which means it has not te be technical and/or fast. But Matteo is both and he still sings/tells stories. And that's what makes music absolutely great. (Like Lari Basilio, Joe Satriani, Andy Timmons and the like... Just to name a few guitarists.)
..you can build your vocabulary listening to good music..if you listen to Rock/Metal only for all your life you can't create lines like that.. How can you write a good book when you read only Mickey Mouse We're the result of our experiences Matteo fenomenale come al solito ;) orgoglio nazionale!!
As a fairly competent finger style guitarist its important to point out that his right hand technique is very unique and reflects his classical guitar education...a very very blessed you man
Enjoy that? We decided to share this single-camera version because this is a first take, and we wanted to make that as clear as possible. This is Matteo Mancuso improvising with pure freedom, and it's part of the Matteo Mancuso Masterclass, available only at JTC Guitar. jtcguitar.com/mancuso "Crossing the Ford" is based on the classic JTC track, "Robben Ford" style and is written by Jan Cyrka, Phil Jewson and Matteo Mancuso.
Bravo!!! Roberto Bocca
This solo is impossible to be played for any other guitarist. Matteo is a real legend, first take, perfect play, he can do impossible lines in a easy way, this means he's a god.
What the world really needs right now is a collab between Matteo Mancuso and Max Ostro-two of the most insane young guitar virtuosos out there 🎸🔥. The way they play, mixing crazy technique with subtle harmonies, is just next level. Seriously, your playing never fails to blow me away 👏.
Bravo Matteo!! Stai continuando a crescere, bravissimo!
Technically and especially musically, it cannot be better in this genre......................................................................................................
He is very good and I hear Guthrie Govan so much from this song so that I can almost pinpoint which song he got his ideas from. Larry Carlton is a such big figure in this type of guitar music.....
💧👀💧tears to my eyes, literally,... as if I have been waiting a lifetime to hear something so perfect and flawless and energizing as this... everything is here in this 3min jam. Matteo Mancuso, the humble Sicily born guitar virtuoso; mind blowing.
this LITERALLY brought TEARS💧💧👀💧💧 to my eyes... and for ALL the reasons you describe... 60 years, a "SATURN RETURN".... like a reincarnation of Django or Jimi or something Wow... skillful Observer in the Music Sky... Oh dear lord, Blues have mercy on me
Look at his eyes. This guy is looking at his hands and he his so impressed of what they can do! Every night he thanks God so his hands plays whatever he wants.

Matteo fenomenale come al solito ;) orgoglio nazionale!!
This kid is the GOAT. It's not even in question. I just smile when I see him play. It's such a privilege to watch you play Matteo.
I smile till I cry.
I dig this guy, for sure, but the Goat without question?...you forgot to write "for me"...
This is so far beyond good. The harmonic complexity, the perfect phrasing, and that vibrato coupled with those ridiculous chops …I’m speechless.
He needs to take care of and insure those hands ..🙏
It's like rock, blues, jazz, with shred sprinkled all around. Just friggin' amazing.
Ora sta facendo anche gipsy jazz
Well, if you don't know, it's called fusion.
So good!!
This young man has a killer technique! The impressive use of his right hand to pick arpeggios! Amazing!
ORGOGLIO ITALIANO!!!
Verissimo, spero di vederlo presto live!

OMG Matteo is always sick! a talent with an immense vocabulary! I hope we're gonna see him more on JTC
Glad somebody mentioned Jan Cyrka, what's he doing these days?
@@ThinPicks Jan writes music such as this :)
I know ITS THE TASTEFULNESS. his note selection and phrasing is just next level.

It’s just so bright and beautiful. Very full of life. An excellent flow. Although I can’t play these techniques, I can’t stop listening.
Every single note clean and clear. Not a single buzz or flub, perfect articulation.
it's good that he plays so well without a pick
Matteo is a one of a kind player. Amazing blend of technique and taste. Excellent. Thank you Matteo!
It's always a pleasure to see you play with so much virtuosity, Matteo 👍
Absolutely bonkers. His improv skills are crazy good.
What the world needs is a collaboration between Matteo Mancuso and Max Ostro, both of the best young virtuosism guitar players of today!
Matteo, needs to hook up with Senri Kawaguchi on Drums and Mohini Dey on Bass.

also me soon, maybe
Is ostro still out there tho?
@@Hadri_ART yes, he's uploading some strange videos/shorts on his social. He's out of this world, too.
This is one of those few times were I will just sit on the other side of the room and admire this from afar.

pretty sure hes still a man

As always, great playing with virtuosity and interesting subtle harmonies 👏
Even from the first note you know its going to go hard
Astounding and mind-boggling to watch him play. Technically and melodically brilliant with amazing phrasing.
Incredibile. Controllo assoluto dello strumento e gran feeling ! 🇮🇹
One of the very few 'shredders' that actually plays with feeling
Matteo is just an insanely talented player. He’s like a modern Gambale.
He reminds me much more of Guthrie Govan and Vinny Moore.
The best I've heard since Govan
Even better!
The Guthrie influence is strong.!
I was just thinking this, this ages Govan?
Grandissimo!
Beautiful playing, tone, technique, phrasing, and musicality. Matteo is always a joy to watch and listen to. 👍
Absolute monster from another planet!!!
Thanks for the extreme good music you give the world to see🙏🙏🙏 and enjoy

😮 ohh wow and he's just jamming it! Thank you for such inspirational playing Matteo you truly are a wonder!
Thanks!
absolutely amazing............💕💕💕
Good grief! His technique and bends and pinch harmonics without a pic is crazy! And its all done perfectly.
