    Hi, in Budapest now and on antibiotics so thought a rest day and thermal spa was a good idea. This park was an absolute surprise! Baths, castle, Heroes Square, museums, zoo, I loved the 1956 uprising memorial. I went back the next day with friends, there was so much to do and see.

    Excellent video. You showed some places we haven’t visited yet: The Balloon Fly, the Vajdahunyad Castle, the zoo (although I visited Vidam Park when I was a young child), Museum of Ethnography. I might be a little apprehensive about the balloon fly because I am not too fond of heights. Stay Fluffy! (Eric)

      The Balloon fly is brand new attraction, there have been a lot of improvements and additions to the city park in the past few years (some of it at the cost of nice trees 😞). The Vidam Park is no more unfortunately, it became part of the zoo and still being worked on. Maybe next time you visit Budapest, it will be completed and you can explore the Zoo and the old Vidam Park area and relive some memories 🙂

      @@StuffedCabbageAdventures Looking forward to trying the Balloon Fly. We were last in Budapest in 2021. I was 7 when I was at Vidam Park.

    Very good video for me who will visit Budapest in 2 weeks. The only thing missing in your video is that you dont tell us the prices. It will be much better and informative video if we see the prices to know what we should do and plan the budget.

    Came to Budapest a couple of days ago. Hero Square is awesome. We went to the circus and the day after, to the thermal baths. Can absolutely recommend both.

    Again a lovely video, I really love this city and see how it has changed (mostly for the better) over the years. I still regret the closure of the Vidámpark (the child in me does) but I’m happy with all the new things to do in the Városliget. Is the lake still converted into an ice skating rink in winter? If so, I’ll bring my skates with me next time when I’m in BP in winter …

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  4 місяці тому

      Hey there! Yep during winter they still convert the lake to the ice skating rink :) I believe it's the largest outdoor ice skating rink in Europe, so they kinda need to uphold this practice to keep the title :) It is very popular!

    I'm enjoying your videos. Myself and 3 friends, age 63-73, will be coming to Budapest in July and will have 2 1/2 days to explore Budapest after a Viking cruise. I'm looking at possibly spending most of a day in Varosliget after the thermal baths. Have you been to the Capital Circus, the Museum of Fine Arts or the House of Music? Which ones would be worth our time and money?

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  3 місяці тому

      Hey there! I was in the Circus as a child, it has it's charm there are some fun shows :) Museum of Fine Arts is popular and there are some nice Seasonal Exhibitions, so a visit will primarily depend on how you enjoy art and what the seasonal exhibition is. The regular items on show may not be as spectacular as like what you get in the Louvre, but it's a nice experience overall. House of Music is unique as it's interactive and it's not only focusing on Hungarian Musical history but also world Music. Unfortunately fitting everything into a day is difficult, especially because how long someone can wonder around in the Museum of Fine Arts, so in the end I think it kind of comes down to what you are mainly looking for. The "inner-child" of people would likely enjoy the House of Music and the Circus more perhaps, but the Museum of Fine Arts is also very nice!

    Hello, is it better to to buy the tickets for baths and the fly baloon online or on site ?
    Thank you soo much for your efforts, köszönöm 🙏🏼

    • @StuffedCabbageAdventures
      @StuffedCabbageAdventures  9 місяців тому

      Hey there! For the baths it's more of convenience to buy tickets upfront, but not a must, it never really sells out, perhaps the queues may be a bit longer but not super long. Buying upfront saves a bit of time, but not a lot. Regarding the Balloon Fly, they do not sell tickets upfront as their service depends on weather. You can go to them and see how the queue is like and decide if you wish to check back later. :)

      Winter is a nice time to visit when the Christmas markets are operational. A lot of things in Városliget operate during winter, like the house of Music or Széchenyi bath (there is something magical when it's snowing and you are sitting in the outside hot pools 😊) and the park lake hosts Europe's largest outdoor ice rink during winter so you can go ice skating there 😉
