      Thank you so much, so glad you found my channel and you're enjoying the content... that's the good thing when you find a new channel I guess, you can watch all the old episodes... just had a new XP 717 ride video drop...check it out... Thanks for watching and supporting🙌

      If you think that's rough, you should see it some days... that's comparibly calm for this body of water... FYI if you mean colour of the water... this is one of the fastest tides in the world... as a result the salt and silt gets kicked up of the bottom and makes the water look dirty, but its not in reality. I like skiing there as its close and soft sand.

    Hello mate, spoke to you a couple of months ago about the XPDI as I have one, it’s now in the garage getting repaired, I need an exhaust manifold but can’t find one for love or money lol, how do you get your spare parts ? And next time your near the Solent we will have to meet up 👍

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  4 місяці тому +1

      Hi mate, good to hear from you... For spare parts its really hard to get bits here in the UK tbh, so I always look overseas mainly the USA: here is an example of getting parts over there...
      www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285394618164?chn=ps&_ul=GB&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
      It sucks as postage but with the old stuff there is so many more parts over there vs UK.
      For sure when I'm next down that way I will drop you a line, if you haven't already follow me on Instagram as that way I can drop you a line. Cheers man ✌

    I had a 2020 spark trixx for two years. Put 150 hours on it. Had my ibr fail, so I replaced it and sold it.
    Looking for an older ski now to ride. In your opinion, what is the most reliable classic ski that will run 50 mph?
    Also, I notice a lot of people remove the oil injection systems, I don't like that idea and don't want to have to premix.
    Love the channel.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому +1

      To be fair 150 hours and then a IBR failure isn't terrible when you think the IBR on a trixx is the meat of what its all about.... that said, good to hear you're now wanting to get another 2 stroke... hands down the 717 XP 1995 or the 1996 SPX 717 are one, if not the most reliable engines seadoo made and easy to work on... I'm not just saying that because I own one, but it is a shared consensus with pretty much all the community. In addition the top speed of a stock 95 XP 717 is between 52-54 depending on how calm the water.... that is the same speed as the 2020 trixx 90hp you would have had... it will be as playful, still do tail stands....
      IMO I like running OEM oil pumps, they are mechanical so as long as you maintain and test them regularly, the user experience of running a pump vs not is night and day... everyone IMO that runs premix is always moaning about incorrect ratios... there is a lot of scare mongering online... I own 8 classics, all on the original OEM pumps....
      Thanks for watching🙌
      p.s. this XPDI in this video would eat a trixx for breakfast...its a 62mph ski all day long... thats 12mph faster than a spark... the sparks are great for water wheelies and playful...also pretty bomb proof!

    Why don’t buy a 951 carb?

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      I have a 951 GSXL which is carb... so already have a 951 with the carb setup.... IMO the DI pickup is much better! the power band hooks up nicer than a carb, also a DI is on the button always... a carb after a couple of month of sitting will need choke... and also the DI in the red colour way is way way nicer than the yellow on the carb xp limited 4th gen. Thanks for watching

    Pretty much the same issue i have with my gopro camera...water on the camera, the water spots are horrible. And the sound recording isnt the best, due to being in a watertight case.
    I've tried Rain-X and other stuff to deal with the water spotting...haven't had much luck

    • @classicjetskis

      Think you're missing the point on this video dude, I have deliberately made this new series and called it 'RAW EDITS'... lots of people ask me for more unedited ride footage as I have so much... the style of footage is intentionally unrefined.. If you compare it to my other content when I'm using drone, SLR and only use a small amount of Gopro.
      I.e. rain X... I have only used it once and never again... Rain X damages the original coating on the Gopro lens... found this out the hard way on one of my Gopros... honestly the original Gopro coating that comes from the factory, although not perfect is the best... as you can see in the video.. you do get spots but then they just fall off... you're never going to stop the fact that if you're in the sea and getting smashed with water, that you get water spots, but in a way I like it as shows the intensity of the ride.

      @@classicjetskis no i get the point man..i was wondering if u had any other solutions. I have tons of footage like this.
      And no you dont put the rainx on the gopro lens..the camera is in waterproof case so it goes on that.
      Are you out in the ocean? Whats your prep to deal with saltwater issues? That would make a good video. I dont ride saltwater here in Minnesota tho, just nice big lakes.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому

      @@GCEXTREMEMN There is only one other product I'm yet to try and thats called Clarifii, the reviews seem good for it... NOTE, you're using a different old set up to me, I'm using a gopro 8, so the camera has no outer case, on older gopro models you put an outer case over the camera itself... I did try using a foam dead cat on some rides which helped cut out wind noise, but then once it gets wet, the noise is completely muffled.
      Re riding in the Salt, here where I live we only have 1 lake and its much further away than the sea...plus I prefer riding in the sea to test my riding ability, the lake is controlled riding conditions...
      As for clean, I use BluThru within my flush routine, which is great at breaking down salt vs just fresh water... I'm also team wash your engine bay camp! I lightly wash all the engine bay and then air line/dry it completely off, then a big coating of XPS or GT85 (water displacer) and then store with the engine bay open for at least a week... In addition my garage is heated to dry out any moisture, hence having the engine bay open to breath and let moisture evaporate.
      In the whole time I have rode salt, never had an issue, I think the issues occur if you're not doing the above after each ride.

      @@classicjetskis im using a newer SJCAM 4KWifi. And i also have some cheaper knockoffs, they are like $20 knockoffs, which are great if i lose one in the lake, lol.
      I have a cheap drone for now, my issue here is licensing, in order to use a drone for business purposes, making money etc, you have to have an FAA license.
      Which isnt easy or cheap to get.
      And even if i do get the license the best i can do with a drone is have it follow me.. cuz I cant be on the ski and flying the drone at the same time lol.
      Not sure what your drone regulations are like over there and if you have someone else flying it. I cant get that kinda help here. Occasionally my sister or fiance come out and help hold my camera phone, thats about it lol.

    • @classicjetskis
      @classicjetskis  Рік тому +1

      @@GCEXTREMEMN Yeh Drones are another level of complexity but that said provide so much nicer footage. I personally don’t think buying a drone is the solution. I luckily found a really good local drone pilot that does all my drone footage and I pay him his day rate for his time and equipment.
      My outlook on it is, if you want good drone footage you have to pay...It not realistic to ask Megs my better half to try fly a drone...plus the drone pilots have the correct licences to fly their drones we don’t...
      As for head cam stuff IMO it’s got to be gopro all day long, the gopros have the best stabilization IMO. The water spot issue is across the board really regardless of brand... I will try out that other coating I mentioned and let you know what it’s like.
      Best thing I’m so happy and blessed to have is an amazing better half that films all my SLR footage with a good mic.... without that you’re watching gopro footage of someone on a ski... that’s kind of why I have held off putting videos out like this one... as I think everyone has done this kind of footage before but with my other videos, it harder for people to do it, as I put so much into them.
