      @@quickboat22 The car they're on has been garaged for the winter but in the few months it was on the road the tires performed excellently. Plenty of grip for hooning around town and handled heavy rain without issue while road tripping through a storm, very confidence inspiring. Quiet at highway speeds as well, they've really been solid all around.

    I find this tire to be superior to the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires ... both dry and wet are better and instill more confidence ... I also find the tires are quieter than the Michelins ... great job Continental !!! I may use them on my GT350.. the track version of these tires ...

      I too am torn between those same tires for my BMW Z4. It currently has Michelin Pilot 4s, because I've used Michelin on all my vehicles over the last 20 or so years. I WAS going with Michelin 4as.. but am heavily leaning towards dws06+

    I have these on a 22’ Kia Forte GT. The car comes with 225/40 - 18 rims. Definitely not a quiet tire but it does absorb bumps in the road quite well. The car came with Michelin Pilot sport 4 summer tires. These contis handle just as well as the Michelins did. I traded them out because I plan to use the car in colder climates beyond the limitations of the summer tire that came on the car. Also fair to note that the smaller the rim is, the more rubber you’ll have on the road which will absorb more road noise. Any car I’ve ever had with 18 inch rims or bigger always transmitted some kind of road noise.

    I just replaced my old Dws06. Great tire. Comfort, tracking, even wear, balance great, but…they lasted only 23000 , down to 2/32 on q5. Replaced with DT srs+ which is the same compound and technology as new dws+ , except tread pattern and is little sportiest feel and less snow grip, which I don’t really care about if it’s a small difference. Told it might last little longer . If I get 35 k out of it , I will be happy since Audi AWD eat tires. We will see.

    I like how Conti etches in the "DWS" into each tread at various depths to signify when it wears down to the point that the W disappears and thusly becomes a DW tire and is no longer winter capable.
    My concern is that it took only about 20K miles for this to happen.
    Any improvement in this? I like my AS tires to be winter capable for more than just half of it's life.
    My Michelin PSAS4 tires claim to stay winter capable for up to 90% of its overall treadwear life.

    Steering feel was really my only complaint with the last gen 06, happy to be putting the new tire on my B9 S5. Running Michelin Pilot AS 3+ and they have good steering feel, but subjectively a bit less inspiring in the wet and light snow. My last set of DWS 06 did experience the beginnings of tread separation on the inside sidewall on 3 of 4 tires, hoping that was just a fluke but it happened at planned tire change so nothing bad happened.

    • @alltheboost801
      @alltheboost801 2 роки тому

      @@jasonwhite7316 yes, the Conti DWS is such a solid tire. My newest set of tires is the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 which I put on my BMW 340. I'm in Utah and we've had a couple snow storms and they had no problems. Still not a true winter tires but for a tire that runs year round it's amazing. There's also a sweet video from Tyre Reviews where they run the a Michelin Summer tire, the all season 4 and their winter tires in a snow track. You'll see the Michelin is impressive. I was able to buy them on sale where they came out cheaper than the Continentals. On my Tiguan that I just sold I had the DWS, which I bought a set like 3 months before the new updated DWS came out and those one never let me down and I have owned that tire before on my GTI and S3

      @@alltheboost801 I'm really interested in your comments/comparisons between the MPS All Season 4 and the Conti DWS tires on your BMW. I, like you, have had the MPS All Season 4 tires and if I had any criticism, they sacrifice a bit of ride quality and snow/ice grip for the more "dynamic" handling/steering responsiveness. I'd be "comfortable" with a bit better ride and snow/ice capability at the expense of some of the Michelin's noteworthy MPSS capabilities.... Does the Conti DWS provide more of that balance I'm seeking?

    • @alltheboost801
      @alltheboost801 Рік тому +1

      @@miata1370 great question! Both tires are amazing, it's like 1A & 1B. I would give the edge to the Conti for being able to handle wet and icy/slick conditions a little better than the Michelin. On the Dry they are equal, on TireRack the Conti outperformed the Michelin. The other thing I will say, is the Conti is a MUCH nicer looking tire when it comes to the tread, Michelin has the fancy sidewall. They typically both weight the same as well, lighter than the competitors.
