"It's not a precious metal, but it is a precious item." Great way to look at it! I'm not a religious person, but I do understand what they signify and treat them all with respect. Happy hunting!
Yes, the historic and personal value definitely makes them a precious find. Thanks for the support Tim!
Good to see another Iowa detectorist. I'm here in Des Moines and have been detection for over 33 years. I've found gold and silver right here in town. Back in the 90's I used to do schools, but now they're pretty much off limits. I have a little over 650 foreign coins from the early 2000's to the late 1700's to have a seeded hunt and have detecting classes. I'm retired so I can't use US coins. Maybe someday we run across each other. Happy hunting.
Welcome aboard John! I've been detecting the Des Moines Metro and surrounding area since 2019. Love the community! Sounds like you've had quite a bit of success!

It's amazing how many Jewelry items you can find if you just take your time
Yep, the biggest revelation for me when I started detecting was just the shear volume of stuff dropped and waiting for someone to find it just under the grass!
Hey man Awesome Silver Ring! What part of Iowa are you in I have some Family in Ames Iowa but i Live in Northern IL. We should hunt together sometime! - Diggin Dave
I'm in the Des Moines Metro Dave. I also have family in the Cedar Rapids area and spend a lot of time over there. Would love to get together for a hunt!
Good things found greetings
Thank you much! Look forward to checking out your channel.
I found a sliver ring almost on a fluke. I tracked down an old wagon road here in Oregon. The parking is at an entrance to the pacific crest trail. Nothing but an old horseshoe on the road. But as my girlfriend was getting her stuff in the car I detected a little around the dirt lot. Found the little tiny silver ring. Then it hit me. Trailheads where people load and unload cars and packs are drop zones. I don’t know why it hadn’t occurred to me before.
Absolutely, always have to be thinking about where people are congregating/transitioning from one activity to another. Thanks for watching and for the cool story!
❤❤❤
Awww shucks, thanks!
What's a bazinga? 😆
Thanks for watching Chris. By definition, a bazinga is something I dig way too much of!
