This show throws so much at you that it's hard to keep up sometimes. It's not so much that they are talking fast I don't think. Its more that Sherlock is making such quick leaps in logic. I often felt like Watson while watching this show which is of course the point. The actor playing Moriarty is so good especially at acting like a bad boy.

Funny that you almost called Sherlock Doctor Who. As you probably know, Steven Moffat co-created Sherlock with Mark Gatiss as well as being showrunner on Doctor Who. I think Matt Smith's Doctor and Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock have some definite similarities! As for Moriarty, Andrew Scott is fantastic. Can't wait for your reaction to series 2! It's brilliant.

    So we are here.
Where the first season ends and the show really begins. “The Great Game” was written by Mark Gatiss, incidentally the actor who plays Mycroft. The next episode is penned by Stephen Moffat, and it is a personal favourite of mine.

Another aspect of the original stories has been modernised here with Sherlock using the homeless to get information and pass messages. In the books Holmes employs poor children/urchins on the streets as agents called ‘The Baker Street Irregulars’. Sherlock may describe himself as a sociopath and seen not to care about people but he shows he can be generous to those who help him.
Also two facts for you - the narrator of the audio in the auditorium where the Professor was killed was none other than Peter Davidson, the 5th Doctor who appeared in ‘Time Crash’ with David Tennant and the little boy who did the countdown was Steven Moffatt’s son Louis.

5:16 I suppose when a forgers good enough to pass off for an original then they are basically artists themselves.

I think Andrew Scott is the first actor to play Moriarty (which I think I supposed to be an Irish name) who actually is Irish.
Either way you definitely have to catch up on more of his work once you've finished Sherlock.

No one ever sees homeless people. No one really looks at them. But they're all over the city. Chances are some may have a story to tell.

As a big fan of the Sherlock Holmes stories, I watched that last episode in 2010 and didn't know it was the season finale so I looked forward to the next for a whole week and then they aired another show and when I looked it up on IMDB it said that there were only 3 episodes but the next season was yet to be filmed cause 'Sherlock' and 'Doctor Watson' were filming in New Zealand as The Hobbit and Smaug the Dragon. GREAT!!! Had to wait for a very looooooooooong time but it was worth it!!!
This show goes so fast, so I have rewatched it several times ... well, enough to know most of the dialogue by heart.
Ofcourse that one time I was in England, I had to visit Speedy's café
    ...
on the day it was closed. Mèh still got pictures in front of Speedy's and the alleged door of 221b Bakersstreet (actually North Gower Street if you ever end up in England filming for Doctor Who... here's wishing for you).
But now you get the geste of this show, the rollercoaster is there on the first high point, get ready for the next part of that ride, it's pretty wild.
