This one took some time to get passed the copyright so that is why it is slightly later than usual! Really enjoyed this one and can not wait for season 2. I hope you guys are doing well and had a great weekend
Bit late to the party, but: I am still so thrilled about the writer's interpretation of Moriarty. He is not the stereotypical tall, cold frightening looking villain, he is a guy some people might not take seriously when first seeing him, not knowing how intelligent and dangerous he is.
You guys were talking about Sherlock showing rare feelings for a friend…read this excerpt from Conan Doyle’s story, “The Three Garridebs”. Dr. Watson had just been severely injured by the killer: The text reads: “You're not hurt, Watson? For God's sake, say that you are not hurt!" It was worth a wound-it was worth many wounds-to know the depth of loyalty and love which lay behind that (Sherlock’s) cold mask. The clear, hard eyes were dimmed for a moment, and the firm lips were shaking. For the one and only time I caught a glimpse of a great heart as well as of a great brain. All my years of humble but single-minded service culminated in that moment of revelation.”
And it goes on to say: “It’s nothing, Holmes. It’s a mere scratch.” He had ripped up my trousers with his pocket-knife. “You are right,” he cried with an immense sigh of relief. “It is quite superficial.” His face set like flint as he glared at our prisoner, who was sitting up with a dazed face. “By the Lord, it is as well for you. If you had killed Watson, you would not have got out of this room alive.”
You guys are so smart with your ideas! I never guessed anything. It ended so strange with this cliffhanger because it's the end of 1st season! Next episode will be episode 1 of season 2. :-) These Sherlock seasons are super short. And we had to wait a looooong time for the 2nd season when it was aired.
Enjoyed the reaction to this great episode. Yeah Sherlock is egotistical and appears devoid of emotion, but I love the little glimpses we get that show he does care about Watson. That cliffhanger though...amazing suspense and then- credits roll..lol. Onwards to season 2..
Hi Rob & Trin Catching up on Sherlock on a wet Bank Holiday Monday. I was a little surprised you didn't recognise Andrew Scott*, after all the things he's been in since he took off in this. Back when things were normal - and I can't believe this was two and a half years ago - I saw him in Present Laughter at the Old Vic in London. He rightly won an Olivier Award - I think it was probably the best stage performance I've ever seen. *Ah, Rob did recognise him. Must wait to the end before writing. Ah, the days producers could be confident putting money into big star-studded productions! I hope those days aren't gone for ever: there are some big names coming to the West End in 2022 - Amy Adams, Jody Comer, Emilia Clarke, James McAvoy - so I'm hopeful. Sorry for the slight rant, only tangentially related to Sherlock. If the next one is the one I think it is, we're in for a treat. It's still raining, so let me push Play . . .
27:50 I wonder if Mark and Steven wrote the multiple characters' assumptions of Sherlock and Watson's couplehood *because* Benedict and Martin had such good chemistry on screen. It may also be a rare nod to the existence of platonic relationships that often read as romantic to observers. There is a notion in the asexual community that Sherlock is one of us 🎉 (which would make the relationship a QPR, or queer platonic relationship.)
Ahhh your reactions are so so good! I’m really enjoying these! Crazy I’m only finding them now😳 This show is just awesome.. and aahh yes the relationship between John and Sherlock 🌝 - let’s just say I personally think you cannot „simply“ describe it as „only friendship“ but also not as „sexually interested in each other“. Without giving anything away I think John is attracted to the danger that Sherlock basically embodies and I do think that they’re definitely emotionally attracted to each other, even tho sexually John is attracted to women. Sexual attraction and emotional attraction is a difference, when it comes to the second the gender doesn’t really necessarily plays a role anymore. For Sherlock it’s similar- he does feel some aesthetic attraction towards Irene Adler but I wouldn’t necessarily say he’s sexually attracted (as in heterosexual) towards her. Especially with all the „Dinner“ metaphor in „A Scandal in Belgravia“ he made clear that „he’s not hungry“, so I think Sherlock would definitely be on the Asexual spectrum.
Finding the reaction really hard to follow. You have definitely improved. Been watching your newer reactions. Well edited. You can actually follow the story and see the key moments.
Sherlock was super hard to edit :) and yeah as you said it was our early videos, we still improving and sometimes youtube is hard on us on what we can and can not let in the edit :) it's a constant battle^^
Hi Rob and Trin, I want to ask if you by any chance have free time slot/desire to react to movies (not tv-shows)? I would love to challenge you to watch movies that are not in your usual list (like some old classics, some European movies etc. that you have not watched). I can come up with 10 movies and I am sure other subscribers might add a lot as well.

Think about how pissed you are, and then imagine waiting TWO YEARS for season 2. Nightmare fuel lol
Yeah that's crazy! lol

Yeah he is unassuming and pretty creepy once he reveals himself, really good casting choice! :)
Two years between first two seasons starting 2010. Three years to release season four.

Yeah his feelings for watson and how worried he was is nice to see and was a surprise :)

LoL the ending 🤣 I knew you would be saying nooooo.
We had to wait a LOOONG TIME for the end
"Is it the gay boyfriend?" I laughed so hard.
There are 4 seasons of Sherlock, 13 episodes all together. One episode is special. You will see.

Yeah that would of killed me :(
@@ptitepeluche05 Ouch! That would of been harsh
That cliffhanger! And now imagine that you have to wait for 1+ year for the next season. But it was worth it.
Yeah it was bad enough waiting a week to record it, can't wait to get back into it :)
Great reaction. Can't wait for you to watch Season 2. The opener is one of the best episodes of Sherlock (or any TV)!
Thank you :) we had to skip a week for sherlock due to Birthday stuff but it will be back on the 7th November

Was a painful but also great cliffhanger :) can't wait to watch the next one!

Thanks for the comment Mark :) so glad we can provide some entertainment on the rainy days ❤
It's so good you should probably watch/react at 2 episodes per week! :-)
If it wasn't for the editing i would upload them all at once haha, i suck with waiting but ofc i will 😊

When this first happened we had to wait 2 years for season 2. It was the worst.
Yeah that would really suck :(

We can try add movies now and then, if you and others leave suggestions i can copy and paste and see what we can do :)
@@robtrinreact2825 sounds great! I will be thinking of a good list of movies for you.
