Surfing Malibu for the first time ever was super fun & thanks to Poopies for showing up and shredding with me! The crowds weren't that bad & the dreams were big, it wasn't the craizest thing ever, but it was cool to surf the legendary spot of Malibu, California!

I learned to surf at Malibu. And yes, it was crowded in the 60s. My friends and I mostly surfed the second point which is faster, shorter but fewer people. We often had it to ourselves. On bigger days, it's both a world-class wave and maybe one to avoid.
So grateful Poopies is 9 months sober. May he find the life so many of us have been blessed with.

I remember my parents taking my to Malibu as a kid and they were filming the TV show Baywatch. Got to see Kelly “Jimmy Slade” Slater and David “Matt Brody” Charvet shred the waves in person! Shout out to David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson! Nub Nation FTW
I live in Malibu in 1968, that's when I learned how to surf, I was 14 yrs old, plus I live in Hawaii, cross the street from Sunset beach, I was 18 yrs old, plus I live in Santa Cruz, it's been a great life, later Bro

I was lucky enough to be dating a girl in the early '80s whose dad had a little place in Malibu for when he worked out there. I was an 18-year-old surfer from New Jersey, and I jumped at the opportunity to go live out there with his daughter. The amazing thing, there were not really big crowds in 1983, I just roll up in my travelall and always find parking... If I remember correctly in the mornings during the week, maybe I was out there with 10 or 15 guys on big days.. That's my Malibu yarn...

You're Never Ready for LA Traffic! For Reals! I live in The OC - San Juan Capistrano. When I drive to Santa Monica for work, I leave at 4:30 AM to avoid heavy traffic. Leaving Encinitas, where I used to live back in the day, You need to leave at 3:30 AM to get to Malibu Pier! FYI, I grew up in Union, NJ and we owned a beach house in Lavallette, back in the day! I moved to CA in 1984 from NJ at age 20. I'm ready to leave CA after almost 40 years. Too much CRIME, DEMOCRATS, TAXES!!!

First and only time at malibu I scored tubes with one other person out during the hilary swell. 6 inches of rain, 50mph offshore winds, steep se swell, and rifling 4ft tubes, it was perfect for the boogie. Was so stoked, i have a vid on my channel of it.

California is a Nightmare for surfing these days. The last 5 years it has gotten so bad with crowds even at spots that never had humans out they too are crowded. I remember when Localism had a natural effect on crowd control. These days no more localism and no more surf etiquette = Nightmare surf sessions among lots of kooks. When i was growing up i never wanted to be the old grumpy guy in the line up. Now I am the old grumpy guy.

Yeah, that’s because Covid caused all these kooks to realize their dry land life sucked, so they had to paddle out and become human shrapnel for the rest of us real surfers.

My buddy's dad had a place right on the water down the street from the pier. I have great memories surfing that spot. You just have to take your Waikiki attitude out into the water and you'll have fun.

Yo surfers, after surfing rinse all the sand off your wet suit. Put in washer w/No soap & by itself, wash on delicate. Put in dryer on Lo heat or Air Dry. Hang up. Your wet suit will last & SMELL 100% better. WhyTF don't you know this? P.S. Poops your a Legend! CONGRATS on Your Sobriety.👍Keep it Up!

I've had the dji osmo cameras for a few years now,, the feature I liked the best was the fact that when you play back whatever you video taped, you can listen to the audio.. now maybe I didn't have a volume up on my gopro cameras but yeah I was stoked so I bought another osmo camera... cool comparison you did there. Da Bu is always crowded

As a professional photo editor, watching the underwater comparison in the pool, I have to disagree with the DJI having better color. It looked a little more washed out and not as warm color as the GoPro. However, I DO like the DJI's low light performance better.
