fun fact: Puff actually based the distraction dance from a dance he did whenever he beat his friends at ping pong :)
(he said this on his twitch btw)
That’s awesome.
Why is it so hillarious to imagine Puff doing that?
He just victory danced one day and decided to animate/reference that in his own game, FtC, only for it to grow into a meme 5 years later. I mean, who would've seen that coming?
Pong Consoles: *We are Relevant Again B'tches*
A dance to a meme.
Imagine winning an important tennis match and doing the distraccion dance
Was gonna mention the few you missed but it seems like the comments have got it covered. Glad you picked up on the layers of the Lemmings thing. Apparently not many people know the game Lemmings.
The comments of the other videos have typically been light debates of, "was X a reference, or just coincidental?"
But this time around I missed a few big ones!
I imagine that will be the case in CtM as well? Just while playing it casually, I could feel a lot of references going over my head haha.
If anything this time around I made a few more leaps, and stretches than usual.
ie. the Futurama/Bender/It was going well connection. I am almost 99% certain that is my own brain connecting things, and not actually intended
Fun fact: Lemmings was made by the same people who made the GTA series.

Its a fake out/mindgame. Its to confuse people on if you plan on approaching or not.

Or alternatively just to keep your hands warm and ready
It's more-so a taunt in Smash Ultimate since it's not nearly as useful as in Melee due to the inability to move quickly out of it

That little back-and-forth motion Henry does when you choose the knee is a reference to Dash Dancing/Wave Dancing, an extremely prominent tech in all smash games, but it's most common/known in Super Smash Bros Melee. I Agree with the First Reference, because in minecraft Creepers explode, but if they get hit by Lightning(Plasma) they get Charged and do a Bigger Explosion, and I'm disappointed he didn't mention it in the video.
One more.

the judo throw at 4:41 is a reference to battleblock theatre coop, you can throw eachother across the map with the throw!
11:30 that wave dashing or dash dancing from smash bro’s, some can do that for intimidation, I think
Wave dashing is when you throw yourself into the ground to fly forward quickly. He did a Dash Dance and jumped
It's definitely dash dancing (A player constantly reversing direction while moving over a tiny area) as opposed to wave dashing. (A player dodging into the floor at an angle to give themselves a momentum boost) Generally wave dashing is used as an actual combat strategy to catch up with a flying opponent and continue a combo, whereas dash dancing is used either to prepare to jump out of the way of an attack or as a way of taunting your opponent.
