Not happy it isn’t coming up on the nest app yet: but I called Google and they are working on fixing it. Expecting an update to come soon. Otherwise it was super easy to install and looks great.

Does the camera only come on when there’s motion? Or is it always on like the other nest cams? Was thinking of using this for our front driveway. Thanks.
Pity about the camera not staying charged despite being powered by mains, forums are flooded with the same fault from the US, UK and Europe, seems to be a major floor somewhere where the battery is draining down and goes offline. It ends up just being an expensive floodlight.
Hey Andrew! This video is perfect! We’ve been waiting for the Nest Floodlight Cam to come out and this video answered a lot of our questions. Almost. 😆 In your opinion, will we be able to mount the camera under a soffit or will there be rotational limitations? Thanks a bunch! 👍🏻😀
I spoke with Google about mounting the camera under a soffit and was told that the camera is not designed to be mounted under a soffit. The reason is the speaker on the camera would be oriented on the top allowing water to get into the camera. Also the motion detector would have a very limited range since it would be pointing down instead of out into the area covered.
I'm wondering if rain or snow, esp. in an area where it's too cold and snowy would affect the longevity of the camera at all. Been looking for one and debating if nest or ring.

Great video indeed. Unfortunately I ran into a problem as the holes in the silver plate do not line up with the box on the wall. Regarding this box (the white one that attaches to the wall and that you kept from the previous spotlight), was this part of your original floodlight, or is it an independent junction box that can be purchased?
Great review, Andrew. Thanks for posting it. How do you feel the video quality of the NEST Cam Floodlight compares with the recently discontinued NEST IQ Outdoor Camera?

Still hoping they might fix it with a firmware update. I was hoping to see homekit supported on eufy camera. The eufy allows you to change the color temperature of the floodlights which I like. I also like the eufy form factor. I might have considered this google one since I have a nest door bell and already paying a subscription for one. A bit late google. One thing I don’t like is the camera can be stolen easily. Granted you might get great footage of some stealing your camera but would prefer something more solid. Some things that would make me consider upgrading 4k/5k video, better ai(people detection(no need to tell me person detected if there are members of my family there unless an unknown person or animal is detected, as I back to a busy street I do not want to be notified when a car passes, etc) , 24 hour recording to nas or icloud, wifi 6/wifi 6e.
For home users - Nest have had the best AI and software
can you add and view this camera on the nest app or only on the shotty google home app?
google home only - I don't understand why
@@Kitearmy that’s super lame bc that app is 🗑
@@garteaga482 I can see that - I just have half my cameras in nest and the others in google
Are you able to turn the flood light on sand off through the app or is it only motion sensor?
yes
@@Kitearmy how about with a light switch if it is wired to a light switch
@@sylviayoon9113 it can be - the cool thing is the camera will still record even without power because it has a battery
Too bad this can't be viewed within the Nest App. If I'd known this I probably wouldn't have purchased it. Hopefully it gets added as someone mentioned below in a comment.
That was an issue for me as well - not sure why they did that
Is this a monthly fee?
but of course
do this have like a siren also loud noise or somthing ?
yes
@@Kitearmy please next time add how it sound like
I feel like you installed it too low. I know that's where the old 1 was but somebody can smack that thing right off. Plus, I def wouldn't of shown anyone how to make your brand new security camera obsolete! Great product tho...
Thanks mate - yeah all security cameras have that vulnerability - they just can't compensate for the brightness
That's by far one of the most ridiculous designs I have ever seen so someone can just walk up to it and steal the camera because it's magnetic, really that should be in the design Hall of Fame.
