I'm a brand new beginner to the seed beading arena and I have learnt so much from your vid thank you so much for posting learning tutorial on how to do it and you are through and I deeply appreciate it
I know this is extremely beginner of me, but how do you do your initial threading? It looks like you are using a single thread at the beginning when you’re tying your knot. Wouldn’t you be looping two threads? Thanks
Karen V You definitely want to keep the area you're sewing, nice and taut. If you can't put it in a hoop, you might want to at least put some stabilizer on the area you're sewing and that should help a little. I like using the stick-on stabilizer that's water soluble.
I absolutely loved watching this! I think I can do it. Only thing is, I'm sure delicate hand-work like this would have to be dry-cleaned. It would never make it through even a gentle cycle on the washer. And still, are there any tricks to preserving your beadwork while it's being dry cleaned? I could even see it becoming loose with that.
Karen V If I were you, I would ask a dry cleaner and see what they suggest. You may want to double stitch everything just to make sure it's extra secure.
Beautiful teaching video. Do you have one to show how to sew beads on fabric you can't really get your needle to the other side? I am trying to put some on a Christmas Stocking and I have lumps of thread showing. The stocking (purchased) is cushioned and not workable to even do it inside out etc.
You can try using a curved needle: www.walmart.com/ip/Colonial-Needle-73486-Curved-Beading-Needles-2-Pkg/27945320?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=1453&adid=22222222227018970329&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=52548664391&wl4=pla-59288517931&wl5=9032938&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=112550049&wl11=online&wl12=27945320&wl13=&veh=sem
So you have any more design options. I want to start hand beading but I don't know what design I want to do or different technics with different beads D:
I don't have any particular recommendations, but check to see what your local library carries. You'd be surprised how many new crafty books libraries carry :)
+Inocencio Bulangis I would use a nylon beading thread. Usually its found in the same section that you find the beads. It has a special coating on it so it doesn't get tangled as easily as regular all purpose thread. Hope this helps :)
I've been looking for a tutorial like this for the longest time! Complete beginner to beading and I can't wait to start practicing these techniques :)

Question: are there any tricks to adding beading to an already-existing garment?--say to a collar or to the front of a blouse?
Karen V You definitely want to keep the area you're sewing, nice and taut. If you can't put it in a hoop, you might want to at least put some stabilizer on the area you're sewing and that should help a little. I like using the stick-on stabilizer that's water soluble.

So you have any more design options. I want to start hand beading but I don't know what design I want to do or different technics with different beads D:
afeeni r thanks for the suggestion! I'll definitely add it to my list :)
hi +professor pincushion is there a book you would recommend for learning more about bead embroidery?
I don't have any particular recommendations, but check to see what your local library carries. You'd be surprised how many new crafty books libraries carry :)
this is great. thanks
what kind or type of thread you strongly recommend for hand beading? Thank you. :)
+Inocencio Bulangis I would use a nylon beading thread. Usually its found in the same section that you find the beads. It has a special coating on it so it doesn't get tangled as easily as regular all purpose thread. Hope this helps :)
very beautiful
Can we do the same kind of stitches to stitch beads on to tulle?
sure! :) Just don't try to put too many beads on one strand as tulle fibers are pretty delicate and you don't want them to start breaking.
Professor Pincushion Thankyou :)
What needle do you use for those seed beads? I am adding some beads to a quilted panel Christmas scene. My regular needles do not fit through beads,
you should be able to find beading needles. If it's not in the notions needle section, look in the section where the beads are sold.
nice video. Thanks
Thanks for watching! :)
Thanks!
What size beads did you use? Thanks learned a lot
+Zoila Rivera for my example, I just used seed beads. I want to say maybe a size 8
+Zoila Rivera looks like an 11/0
+Jessica Torres Thank you very much 😃
+Professor Pincushion Thank you very much 😃
thank you very much
A nice one
Where can you purchase these beads but in white ?
I think I just purchased my seed beads at Joann's. Any craft store should have beads but you can also find a lot of options online or even check etsy.
+Professor Pincushion thank you very much
Can you bead on vinyl? Please answer asap!
I'd only do it if the vinyl was thin weight. otherwise, it might be too hard to sew by hand.
sa serais parfait le vidéo mais la on ne vois que le vernis a ongle sa, sa dérange tous le visuel
What type of fabric is this?
in this demo I just used a linen I had on hand
how to fix bead's
Nettie please
Please

Nails distracts from lesson
Those nails are distracting
Lydia Seay - I absolutely love the fingernails :)
thank you for clearing up some problems I was having xx😃
The finger nails w/the press on design is way too distracting on a tutorial. Especially for beginners.
Please, plain short nails for tutorials. Much easier to concentrate & view the beading process. Thank you.
Girl, if you can't deal with some fun nails, then you're never going to manage bead designs
Your nailpolish is disturbing
