This is why I love the first gen Expeditions and Navigators😂 I always get weird looks from people when I take my 1999 Ford Expedition XLT rock crawling here in Moab and I do better than some of the Jeeps sometimes😂
That was a 2000 to 2002 Navigator.. I loved seeing that !.. The 'Gator pulled the Toyotas Out of the mud twice, also ! I had a 2003 Navigator, and now am still driving my 2007 Navigator..
laschell59 not expensive, well equipped yes but you can buy a 06 nav for 6k it’s actually cheaper then the 06 excursion or expedition even tho it’s better equipped
@@gptint1 a "POS" you say? oh boy. did Ford touch you in a naughty place when you were a child or something? hahaha. ChadWorthingham Thanks. We all had fun watching the Navigator out in the woods. There are a few more navigator vids too. Thanks for the view & comment.
+ChadWorthingham I agree..... I think the Navigator held itself really well. I always wondered how my 2001 would do offroading. Looks like it would be fun. Thanks for the video.
Finally someone with guts enough to do this!!! Looks like it actually did pretty good too! I'm still working on a dude that has a 2012 Navvy to get some off road tires on his and do MUCH milder stuff but he won't budge... The worst that his has seen is only seen a few miles of nicely maintained dirt road. I'll show him this vid and maybe it'll help!
Yes, it did better than we thought it would for being so big and heavy. We sure had a lot of laughs taking this out on the trails. Good luck getting your Buddy to take his out. Thanks for watching...
swapped out the air ride for exp coils on my 06 navi, at same time i put 3" leveling kit up front and 4" in rear to compensate for the system have a 3" body lift goin in atm hopin to clear 37s to hold me over till i finish lifting and shortening the 08 f350 superduty frame i got to swap in goal is 10" lift 40s and supercharged coyote

Fords and Toyotas are the best. I remember having a 97 Ford Explorer V6 XLT while my Dad and Brother both had a 98 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee V8s. The both of them got stuck in deep snow while I just donuted around them both.
Silvia Pascual There were 285-75-r16. Not exactly sure of the rim size, but the mud terrain tires were 33 inches tall. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The car wash must have been upset with you guys. Other than that it was a great review. Did anything happened the engines after like mud went into it etc.?
The red toyota handled it with no problem. I can see the toyota person doing this, but the Navigator? Gutsy! I guess there were plenty of tow rope and waders just in case!
It surprised me too. It did very well. You should have seen how people looked at us with that Navigator on the trails. LOL Thanks for watching and commenting
Some 4 low, but he used 4 high also in some spots. I don't think it was all wheel drive, he was able to select 2wd and 4wd, but not totally sure about the AWD.
That Navigator does well!
Yea, not bad for 8,000 pounds. LOL Thanks for watching...

Ford is just like that free dog that will go right back to the pool whenever you take em out
LOL Thanks for watching...
I have the same navigator, very impressed beings how
heavy the Lincoln is. Mine just turned over 40 ,000 miles and never driven in rain or snow. 2001
Hey man nice to hear that, I got a 2002 navigator with about 350k kilometres on it, never taken it off roaring but I guess never to late to try 😂
Crazy as hell to go mudding in a luxury truck 🤦♂️
Those ones where basically Ford explorers. They really weren’t luxury vehicles. Just fords with leather seats lol.

Incredible that it does so well even with the weight and lower ground clearance

Navigator (no offence) is a POS. A real overland vehicle will run you far more than an old Navigator. Even of the same year.

THE LINCOLN WAS SO GOOD AT 6:30 THE TOYOTA STRUGGLES THEN THE LINCOLN GOES RIGHT THREW IT!!!

No doubt. I'm on my second ford expedition. I have a 2007 with the trusty 5.4. Damn tires they put on em aren't meant for mid. Nice video.

I wonder if the new navigators could manage this. They’ve gotten much fancier I wonder if Lincoln toned down the off road capabilities.
I doubt it.
New navigators perform incredible on road for their size, but there were oviously some sacrifices

Navigator needs a locking differential
It would be an animal then. We were surprised how well it did, especially with all season tires.

I was scared for the Navigators engine when I saw the smoke besides repping both the Nav & Toyo i was a bit sensitive for both.
It all came out well in the end. The Navi did way better than we ever expected.
I would love to see how my blackwood handles these trails, unfortunately they only made them in 2wd
You've got to convince these people to invest in some swampers!
I hear ya. I did get Dan to get mud terrains for the Navigator though. LOL
The black toyota sounds like a rotary

Look like the Trail Diggers struggled quite a bit?
Doesn't anyone have low gear or locking differentials?
We have low gear. Just the monster TOYOTA (in other videos) is locked front and rear. They are on the wish list. LOL

That's surprisingly better than what the Toyotas did ! Does it have an effective traction control ? Did you make any installation?
Nope. It's fully stock except the mud terrain tires. Not sure about the traction control, it belongs to a friend. Thanks for watching...

that Toyota sounds like crap Can he not afford to by a muffler or is he 7 years old and thinks that sounds cool or something?

Anthony Pierre Dan is fun to bring along. He's not afraid to run the Navigator through anything! LOL. We have winches just in case he buries it.
Any water leaks into the vehicles? And then after all that "fun", you guys get the power washer out, BBQ and clean the vehicles?
