ER invasions suck but let's not pretend that the host doesn't have infinite healing at his disposal in DS2. I managed to beat a guy who was better than me at the game by simply outhealing all his attacks by spamming healing items like a monkey. As an invader you at most have miracles and warmth and the latter can be used by the host and his phantoms as well, plus you're put on a 15 minute timer so if the host and his buddies don't want to progress through the area then there's nothing you can do besides throwing yourself into a blender and praying to God that you won't die. Then there's the lack of s on backstabs and i believe ripostes as well (it got replaced by a huge damage resist for some reason).
Ah yes Dark Souls 2. The game where the host can practically have 99 life gems and the invader only has miracles. Yeah.. not that much better than Elden Ring bucko.
@@James_Rustled when I played ER for the first time, I had a lot of DS II dejavu which is not surprising considering that the "best souls" game director actively worked on ER as well. Even more interesting when you learn what DS II devs planned to implement originally, for example, semi-open world and stance mechanic for every mob and boss.
@@strannyi_chelovek there are similarities in the same way that all of them, demons/ds1-3 and er have similarities. The depth of combat and amount of skill and knowledge checks are most different when comparing ds2 and er. The massive focus on multiplayer both coop, invasions and dueling in ds2, the rewards and story you get from them had never been matched but again the most different is er where all covenants are gone, and all rewards removed. Even on a surface level like powerstancing in ds2 and dual wielding in er. They appear similar at first but it’s just a shallow version of what was a complex system where you could change stance mid combat. Twin weapons from ds3 are much more like er dual wielding then powerstance.
@@James_Rustled I understand, but for me these games just give off the same vibes. A lot of random dogsh*t happening on your screen, resulting in rage-inducing deaths (please, don't ask me how I manage to find new ways to die even after 700 hours in ER and 350 hours in DS II), mixed with the moments of pure joy. It's the way these two games allow you to play around different options, choose your build, experiment and have fun when you close your eyes at their downsides. Both games allow players to break them completely. Yes, DS II requires some actual skill, but with some experimenting you will discover that high counter bonus weapons are the most powerful out there, that greatshields can trivialize a lot of stuff, that being at 40% equip load makes bossfights easier, that bonfire ascetics are just built-in cheats etc. DS I and DS III just don't feel like it, first one doesn't let you play around all the stuff that throws at you, second one is so polished and balanced that it's impossible to sit back and have fun at least for me.
DS2 was peak because it not only let you see in slow motion how braindead most people are, but it let you actually PUNISH them for it. Contrast that with Eldon Rong where flowchart gimmicks and mashing are legit viable because the damage will carry you anyway.
At 15:36 what happened is the two dudess tried to go through the door, thanks to the amazing 0.5 rule for latency, in your screen it'll look like they are running place, it also happens when you try to body block someone, you can hit them but in their screen they went through and they are being hit by nothing. He ran through the door, but he was already next to you in his screen, while on yours he was stuck, when you turn around confused you can see his healthbar bobbing like he is moving. Help I have 2500 hours and I can't stop.
The fact that you cannot spam roll and you can punish everyone trying to chunk in front of you, phantoms cannot heal by ordinary means and in order to do dmg, unless you are rocking a meme one shot build, you have to fight for it to get it done (meaning no AoW brainless spam). That alone makes it the best DS.
Elemental damage is really prevalent in DaS2. Unlike in the other games elemental weapons can be buffed. They receive a flat damage increase as well as a % increase based on the total elemental AR. So it's really nasty.
Thank you for reminding me how much I hate dark souls 2 seeing how you and the opponent roll repeatedly literally looks like it takes a year to complete one roll
no taunters tongue in sight, just people living in the moment
Steel playing Peak Souls 2: 😊
Steel playing Elden Slop: 🤬

@nachalnik5738 I'm glad somebody said it. Healing in Ds2 leaves you so exposed, most people lose health before they can regain it.
Dark Souls 2 2 when.
It's already out under the name Elden Ring
@@strannyi_chelovek ds2 and er are the two most opposite of any fromsoft souls games.

No ashes of war spamming? This is the paradise
8:56 Claw laughing in the backgorund while that is happening is diabolical work 💀😂
Peak souls 2, lilbro is shaking things up a bit.
08:55 stevia witch laugh got me off guard ngl, the best part of the video
Finally, no more midden ring
Inject this content directly in my veins. So stoked to see souls creators going back to their faves of the series.

"Nope Gammer its not Elden Wrong" - Steelovski I'm dead 😂😂😂😂
Im so happy to see you playing the other games, you simply deserve better steel
Ive recently been doing best souls 2 invasions at half a million soul memory. It’s been amazing. Even better then I remember somehow

I also went back to ds2 to get a break from anime ring

18:45 Wild Shmecky encounter
Just when I started playing Dark Souls 2 last week. Make the DS2 vids a weekly occurrence kind sir.
You should make a video teaching your audience how to set up Ds2 for invading in PC (using cheat engine and such)
I want more ds2 content pls. Also what mods are you using? Thx
Steel is probably just doing normal ds2 pc combo of cheat engine for build tinkering and blue acolyte (which you can see in top right corner)
@greenpinapple820 thank you very much but ds2 does not look like that i am sure there should be lighting mode
Wait, weapons aren't affected by the acid pools in Drangleic Castle, only rings and armor
Our boi in Best Souls?
I am ready for the peak PvP~
Finally some good fking pvp
Nice Emil Thumbnail
John Dark Souls-Tew is my favorite anime protagonist.
hell yeah new steel ds2 vid🎉
OMG Is that DS2 I see?!?! Best game ever 10/10 so glad to see this!
Yo Steel, I was goatlord, the pyro guy with baedit axes who invaded you at Heides! Cool duel
where is ash of war? what do i do with L2 button??? worst game of the year...
Completly unrelated but how do you counter parry spammers in elden ring? I know collosals cant be parried but is that really the only option?
Bait the parry and backstab them
jump
Flails, 2h colossals, whips, jumping attacks and some ashes of war like spinning slash cannot be parried.
play a different game
@@WeeabooPocky oh shit you a real one bro i forgot flails cuz they used to be useless hahaha
Yayyyy! Knickers to ash of war spam.
Playing ds2 to keep the long distance relationship makes me cry
Yusss DS2 PvP lets gooooo
Never bothered with ds2 but pvp seems fun
Thats why DS2 is the GOAT
14:07 weapon don't get broken
4:13 ER l2 moment
Why are physical defenses in DS II worthless??

Thank you for reminding me how much I hate dark souls 2 seeing how you and the opponent roll repeatedly literally looks like it takes a year to complete one roll
That’s cause you’re not supposed to spam roll in Ds2. Unlike ER, Ds2 encourages you to use your higher brain functions in PvP.
Stop hating on peak souls 2
You can actually do quick rolls, by cancelling the rolling attack with another roll, you just need to have enough stamina to roll twice.
Bru this combat is so ass, painful to witness
Still better then old ring thoe
Peak combat
When stamina managment and good spacing was still part of the good pvp.
