****We also wanted to add the fact that while we were not able to film the 1/2 inch dowels being inserted into the window shutters, this is a very important step to reinforce the Frame (The dowels are visible later in the film).

Great advice , when doing repetitive cuts , walk away for a few minutes. I have done that more times than I can count.

Hi Giles Woodworks, Nice to see a craftsman making a traditional New England Shutter. Nice equipment you have there. The Stroke sander something I do not have is such a time saver. I use a Louver Groover to make my slots in the stiles. Funny how certain woods work better in different environments. Western red cedar for you is good, not so good good here in Florida. Nice video to show what all is involved in building a quality shutter, Thanks
How would you make custom board and batten shutters? Can you do a video on it?
Cuts 45°? Cut same way for both stiles? 1" apart 3/16th deep cuts? Also thank you nice project.
