Nmaiba, Windhoek is a wonderful and beautiflul place but he roads are horrible now. there is basically no paint on the roads in most areas and new drivers have to guess where they should be on the roads. The municipality of Windhoek is extremly neglectful they just switch off peoples electricity and water. All they do is sit and recive money for doing nothing. I say this as someone who has visited very recently and have friends who were born there. The last time the roads were freshly painted was in 2020. The tourists should really complain abot yhje roads so that something can finally be done. Dont refrain from visiting tho I havent regreted visting once!

Do Swakopmund. I grew up there and it's a holiday town. My favorite part of Swakop is the average temperature being 21°C. Windhoek is beautiful but it gets up to 35°C. Don't even get me started on Oshakati. It reaches up to 40°C. 😩

A few comments say it looks like California. Maybe the palm trees and modern buildings, but you don't see litter and graffiti all over plus no homeless addicts and mentally ill with their tents on the sidewalks. This is truly embarrassing as a former Californian.
I was born and raised in the California high desert. I recently visited Namibia. When I first arrived in Windhoek, I remember the scenic 30-mile trip from the airport into the city. And my shuttle van driver asked me why they allow homelessness in America. I didn't have an answer except that America is a free country where people have choice to be homeless. Namibia is a socialist country where the government runs much of the economy and makes sure people don't fall thru the cracks .....so there are trade-offs.
Namibia Looks so clean. Much better than the dump that is Zimbabwe. Please keep running your country well, look after your infrastructure and Economy and cut out political violence and corruption and you won't become another Zimbabwe 😊
A lot of towns and cities in Namibia have a German and British feel about their architecture and names. Namibia was colonised by the two European countries hundreds of years ago.
Okay so this is absolutely not a knock on the Namibian people at all and I will say that yes, it looks like a clean, orderly city. But I can say there is anything about it architecturally that is compelling enough to want me to visit. It looks like any number of interchangeable suburban-style cities in North America. I know this video wasn’t created by the city’s tourism board.

The roads are in way better shape than any UK city, and generally, the cars looked no different. Loads of German, and not many "bangers". Curious that their license plates are Dutch coloured, but drive on the left.
You guys just went in circles around Independence Avenue in CBD. As a Namibian I watched thinking you will show the entire city from CBD to residentials to industrial 😀 Great visuals though. @Magic_Kayyy For Namibia, Yes. We do have some littering here and there from those lazy individuals who have a mentality of "Its a cleaner's job to pick up trash". But overall, Windhoek city and many towns across Namibia are clean. I visited Cameroon a month ago, and my heart broke seing the amount of dirts on the streets. Apparently, the government did not pay (for 2 good years) the company that was reponsible to collect trash, so the company decided to stop; so as we speak there are hundred thousands of trash heeps all over Yaounde (capital city) and Douala (economic city). I'm pretty sure the cities in South Africa are better. Plus South Africa is organised. Go to Cameroon and see, then you will appreciate South Africa. But overall, we collectively need to do better for our beautiful Mother Continent.

I am from Botswana 🇧🇼 and I love Namibia because that's my ancestors land.My Grandfather was a survivor of the Genocide that the Germans did to the Herero clan.The Germans killed and raped women,stole the land and cows.But my grandfather and the other Hereros escaped, some entered Botswana,some Zimbabwe and the rest we don't know. I am from Botswana 🇧🇼 and I love Namibia because that's my ancestors land.My Grandfather was a survivor of the Genocide that the Germans did to the Herero clan.The Germans killed and raped women,stole the land and cows.But my grandfather and the other Hereros escaped, some entered Botswana,some Zimbabwe and the rest we don't know.
Namibia is beautiful and clean.And I wish the Herero people can come out and share their stories of the pain and abuse that took place,which separated most of them❤🙏🙏.
