Majority of points written in the owner’s manual of any car is simply to avoid any future legal allegations as well as to create loopholes for warranty claims etc. 😊
What I noticed is: In D-mode, it upshifts to 2nd gear as soon as car starts moving. This causes frequent shifts in bumper to bumper traffic. In M-mode also, though you can control the upshift, it automatically down shits to 1st gear too quickly when the car slows down. However, in S-mode, it upshifts to 2nd gear only after RPM crosses 3000 and down shifts to 1st gear only after car is completely stopped. So if we want to minimise the gear shifts, S-mode might be better in bumper to bumper traffic. But I am not sure, if reducing the shifts helps in long lasting of the transmission? S-mode definitely helps in quickly moving to gaps in slow, at the cost of economy.
Yes. I sometimes use S mode, if i don’t want to use M mode in bumper to bumper traffic. The behaviour of DQ200 is sometimes jerky and it’s mostly felt in bumper to bumper traffic or speed breakers. It shifts between D1-D2 and D2-D1

If you check the user manual it says - To stop the car for a while, just press the brake pedal. Not mentioned about shifting to N. These days the technology has improved to put the car to neutral internally when we keep pressed brake pedal and don’t press accelerator
In manual cars, we usually accelerate before upshifting gears, and when we want to downshift, we typically apply the brake to slow down. In cars with DSG (Direct-Shift Gearbox), the system automatically upshifts when we accelerate. However, if we manually downshift using the paddle shifters or the manual mode while accelerating, the DSG gearbox can become confused because it learns from our driving style and adapts accordingly.

DSG and DCT are different gearboxes
DCT is common noun and DSG is proper noun😃 VAG group name the DCT gearbox as DSG.
@DirectShift in DSG whichever clutch is free it shifts the gear, while in DCT clutch 1 is mapped to R,2,4,6 while clutch 2 is mapped to N,1,3,5
If you technically compare both cases, when one clutch is engaged for 1st gear obviously it’s the other one is free for 2nd gear.
