Hi everyone. Aiden here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Aries Ridge Step Running Boards on our 2023 Ram ProMaster 2500. Now on either side of the vehicle it's gonna look a little bit different. On the passenger side here the step is gonna span 96 inches in length, and on the driver's side it's only 36 inches because on the passenger side here we've got our large sliding door and this step is going to cover that whole section here to get up into your van or out of it. As well as giving you that step to get into the front of the van on both the driver and the passenger side.
Now whether you're using your van for an overlanding camping rig, or like these people and you're using it for work, something like this is going to be really helpful to get up into the back here, whether you're carrying camping gear or boxes full of other stuff for whatever work you're doing. This is a big step without that running board. My foot's all the way up to my knee here and it's really uncomfortable especially if you're carrying something heavy. Having something to act as a midpoint between the two makes this so much easier and safer if you're carrying heavier things. Over on the driver's side here, we can see it's much of the same, just shorter like I mentioned.
'cause you only need it for the one door and it spans that door perfectly well even extending back a little bit further than I think it needs to, but that's okay. It's not getting in the way of anything it just gives you more surface area to step on. Now as far as the width of these steps, it's gonna be six and a half inches wide and they're very flat, so your foot can get on there very firmly and securely and it feels great. It's a very functional step getting up in and out of an already tall vehicle. Now on that step you'll notice these ridges and texture to the surface.
That's going to help provide a lot of grip for your shoe on there so it doesn't slip, even if it does get wet. And all across this it's going to be a solid steel construction. Everything from the brackets to the step, no plastic in there at all, so nothing's gonna crack or fade over time, and the powder coat on top is gonna help protect it from rust and corrosion. Now one thing that's very important to know, especially on the passenger side here, is the weight capacity. This can handle 500 pounds on the step.
So for the driver's side I think that's gonna be no problem. You don't have to really worry about that too much. But on the passenger side, if we're carrying heavy boxes in and out of the van, then that's something to consider. The weight of yourself plus whatever you're carrying needs to be under that 500 pound limit. Now as far as the install goes, it is a no drill application. Just bolts right on to existing factory holes using the included hardware. Now one thing to note with that is we did have some problems. Just because I think there's some poor quality control going on and some of the hardware that we got wasn't very good out of the box and ended up not being usable. So we did have to pick up a separate hardware kit to fix that up. So we'll address all of that during the install process. I think at the end of the day the fit is really nice, maybe a little bit off center just from the way the brackets are shaped, but it's very functional, it's a wide step, it doesn't shift around on you, and it's going to give you a much easier access into the van. So if you can get past the quality control things and get it installed, I think the end result is worth it. It just might be a little bit more complicated to get there but your options are a little bit few and far between with this van, so I do think it's worth considering. With that all being said, let's check out that installation process now and we'll walk through it together. Now the first thing I recommend doing for your install is getting your parts laid out. One to check for damage because running boards often arrive with some sort of dent in them. These ones are pretty rugged and we didn't have any issues with that, so it's always good to check just in case. And then the next thing to look at is all of your brackets. Right out of the box this is probably gonna be the most intimidating part just because all these brackets are so different from one another and depending on the position they go in, they do have a proper home that they're gonna work better in. So do your best to match them up with the pictures and the instructions. The black and white pr

All of the brackets are stamped with PR, PC and PF for passenger rear center in front, and DR, DC and DF for driver rear center and front. So you don't have to guess which bracket is which. Great video! Thanks for the help!
