If you want to save time on the boiling process, use a pressure washer to clean it. You’ll only have to boil for an hour or do and it’s helpful for getting brains and stuff out.
That's a great idea! The scraping is the most tedious part, and a pressure washer would definitely safe time. I'm thinking I'll wear a mask and goggles for that because I imagine it throws the brains all over the place if it's anything like pressure washing the house.
@@briansargent6154 , the pressure washer is a brilliant idea. We didn't own a pressure washer until just recently, so sometimes we don't even think about it being an option.
I just done this today. I went to sally beauty supply. They only had 30 volume creme but it worked very well. They also had the quick white powder in individual packets so you dont have to buy a whole container of it.
That's good to know about the individual packets. Between all the hunters living here, we end up doing at least a couple of skulls a year, so I never even thought to look for individual packets, but that is definitely helpful for those who don't want to buy/store the bulk container. Thanks for the tip!
I noticed that you didn't add a clear coat like a polyurethane finish... any reason why ? or just your preference ? I'm doing several European mounts myself and I'm at the stage of adding some color to the antlers ... some have bleached out... then was going to add a matte finish. I thought there might be a reason that you didn't do this. Thank you for your suggestion.
We have started adding a clear coat to ours. It helps keep the shine on the painted ones. Also helps stop yellowing on the white ones. Thanks for the question!
Been doing this for a few years now.My wife is a stylist and has informed me that the product actually stop working loses its effectiveness after 4 hrs.. Results will be the same as 24 hrs..I'm definitely not knocking what you're doing..just trying to help you save some time 👍👍
Thanks for the feedback. We're still learning video. We have more experience with blogging, but we're trying to branch into video as well because some projects are just easier to demonstrate by video.
Thanks for the feedback. This was one of our very first videos, and we're definitely not professionals. It's amazing how blunt people are willing to be with their negative feedback on a stranger's UA-cam video. Based on the 700ish views you have on your videos (compared to the almost 20,000 on just this one video), it looks like you're just starting out too. I hope people are kinder to you in their criticisms.
Good job. Next skull you do, pop out the earbuds in the back. There is a little flesh behind and makes access to the brains easier as well.
Thank you for the tip!
I came to say this too. Phillips screwdriver and a hammer, they pop right out without much effort
Kenny is a natural in front of the camera!!
He just watched it and realized he said "and everything" too many times. Now he wants me to remake the video!

I like using the pressure washer after 30-60 min boil

My son has been wanting to learn how to do this. Thanks for the video! found you on 10K challenge
It's so nice to meet you! I checked, and I'm already subscribed to your channel. I've met so many good people in these 10K challenges.

Thanks! That's definitely good to know.
Goggles! Use a tripod for future videos and everything. Also, one narrator please or mic her up and everything.
Thanks for the feedback! We are learning as we go and buying equipment as money allows. We need to get a real camera too . . .
Your camera person is over talking you and is confusing.👎

Annoying audio. One speaker please, not three...
Thanks for the input. We're definitely not experts on video, but we're trying to learn.
