I'm very new to dnd, I've watched some Critical role episodes but dunno why find you guys much more enjoyable to watch and u guys explain alot more as you play! I have a lot to catch up on as this vid is now years old but look forward to watching more, I'm currently trying to get into dnd with my 2 young boys (10yrs and 7yrs) I'm trying to DM and make it as fun as possible and vids like this are a big help! Thank you guys so so much and I look forward to the next few episodes ❤️😘
I am 30, and I started at 30 playing Pathfinder because I was invited. 5th edition is really nice to jump into. Everything is simpler and faster than when I started :)
Suddenly I don't feel so bad for trying to start at 24. :I But after DMing for my friends, I'm going to try to get my younger cousins to play. I think it's going to be hard, they're part of the ''watch-youtubers instead of playing'' generation.
Rei Bob Don't think that way. My 18 and 12 year old nieces have both very much embraced the level of input and control that actually PLAYING instead of just watching a vid or mashing keys on a video game gives them. I honestly think that any age group out there can (and is willing to) benefit from the level of creative control that D&D offers :D
I've been DMing this campaign for my friends who are new to the game and i remember clearly that they tried ( and succeeded) at seducing some of the goblins that were there with sildar. it was hilarious!!!
Yhea i kinda saw that they both went unconsious after the first goblin fight and the goblin draged them in the cave and they had to fight there way out. wich with only a couple of fudged rolls they suceded.
Yhea well that is what sildar halwinter has become for us. But im not sure if im doing it right for now they are both playing him and deciding his actions but should i assign it to only one pc or even play him myself?
"after we finish eating that, we're going to eat you!" They're eating her, and then they're gonna eat me! oh my Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh-!
IMHO the party would have probably been near tpkd near the end of the last session when two of them tried to sneak away from room six and someone rolled a 1 (especially after they advanced with the other half of the party incapacitated back in the water area). I dont understand why the five goblins in there didnt walk up and investigate the two adventurers. The GM was way too kind there. I guess i can chalk that up to the new player and the fact its a demonstration. Id like a more old school demo on one of these videos where every adventure isnt a cakewalk designed to emphasize silliness over good tactics and decision making. A party should be able to role-play their characters and the party straight into oblivion and not always magically escape poor decisions via a kind GM. Ill admit its a balancing act though. But Id get bored in a game with no real consequences. .
Good video. As a DM myself, I’m kinda bummed that the Greg doesn’t imaginatively elaborate on combat actions much - “you slash him with your sword... arrow hits and kills it...” is just so boring - give it a little flair or add in a couple more adjectives. Maybe just my personal preference, but the goblin voices are immersive, everything else seems lacking description or imagination.
Do the people running this channel seriously not realize that you can trim a video (even after it's uploaded) to remove the 4 and a half MINUTES of nothing at the beginning of this video?
Interesting, over an hour of the map cursor NOT MOVING ONCE. The roleplay and FUN factor is admirable here, and well run which is all that matters really, but precious little regarding moving the party occured. A beginner's adventure like LMoP ought to progress more quickly so new players not yet acclimated to the joys of roleplay while the game idles don't come away with D&D feeling too 'slow paced' and dwelling on interpersonal chitchat rather than saving the day. No foul tho - Just sayin' ~❌KT❌
SHOW STARTS AT 4:26
faith in humanity restored
Ummm y do I not believe d&d can't afford a decent video editor....?
VIP right here y'all!
@@513DoX That drives me crazy.
Greg is an awesome DM. Would love to see him and chris perkins do more of these
"I'm keeping the longest string and the prettiest rock." good stuff.
Gotta love players.
Harsh.
Slurpy needs a sit-com.
Does anyone else love Slurpy? He is just such an odd character that its loveable!
He's not even part of the actual campaign per say they've just made him so much more and that's cool. I love it.
Gollum with a better name
These are great videos! Please continue to upload and film these videos. Great demonstration of DnD Next both DM and Players alike.

I'd say these guys are more like what your typical DnD session looks like
Wasn't feeling this DM until he got into RP'ing the Gobs and then loved it!
Btw, for those who don't know, part four is on TwitchTV , here www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd/b/564603135
thanks man. video in the link mentioned starts at 2:42
glad to see that the 3rd part is finally here!
hope you guys keep making more parts past the goblin cave, the cast of players are great!
I always enjoyed this game I haven't played since 4th ED. Watching these vids makes me want to get back into it
The whole trusting the goblin thing was good. Seems like so much fun
Slurpy is best party member.
Why not let the guy who's character is unconscious play the cleric that's not there.....?
Yeah good point
The potions made of goblin blood bit made me laugh harder than it should have.
They're never actually going to get to the Mine, are they...
6 years later, and they are still listening to the goblins.
Of course not. If they did it would be called the Found Mine of Phandelver.
Thanks so much, enjoying the slurp out of you guyses sessions!
I absolutly love Emi's laugh! Its amazing!
Another 25-Hour EXTRA-LIFE Livestream in the near-future....
Oh, dear....
I guess it is time for another all-nighter then....
Please keep this campaign going!!!!!!
Regarding the unconscious party member, they really could have retreated and rested a long time ago. The guy hasn't played in two sessions.
Sorry 7 years later lol but can you just say, “take a long break” and then keep playing? Or they should have done it at the end of the last session?
Holy crap, about time 3rd vid is up.
Very nice voice acting on DM's part :)
Love it, but can we please have longer sessions? Surely you guys can apportion more than one hour a month for streaming RPG sessions? :)
Well then, this will pass the time while i wait to play 5th edition with my friends later today. :) thanks for the upload!
If anyone is looking at these videos for a recap or a tutorial on combat look at 27:44
One day I will convince a DM to let me make a Noble Goblin Paladin! and name it Floppy Light-Biter. :O
I'm a total DnD noob. Actually havent played a single game yet and I'm 30 in four months, sigh. Can't wait to start!

Seminko as you wrote this four months ago accordingto UA-cam. Happy Birthday!
Jan Mulders wow man, thanks :)
Been enjoying and hope for the next part soon!
Just started looking for this post, and it appears that it was posted 32 minuets ago!
Slurry is love!
I've been DMing this campaign for my friends who are new to the game and i remember clearly that they tried ( and succeeded) at seducing some of the goblins that were there with sildar.
it was hilarious!!!
They have yet to take a long rest. Your wizard has already used his 2 spell slots on Burning Hands and Magic Missile. He Can't cast Sleep.
Please tell me your going to continue this game.
How did the human make the jump across the bridge span if he doesn't have darkvision?
Since they may or may not be doing this as company time, I am curious if they are trying to speedrun this campaign?
So, I assume the extra life marathon will be 25th October? I can't wait that long man D:
“Who is this Kraug? Krag? Kraug.”
“Klaarg”
“SLURPYY!!”
I’m fuckin lost my shit, I’m crying 😂😂
"I wasn't gonna kill him. I was just gonna nibble on him a bit..." ;)
I love the slurpy
OMG, soo many bad dice rolls resulting in SO many hilarious situations..! :P
i like this DnD group light fun and the dm is gd at etting the scene
Hey you guys! Goonies Pun lol
Comedy gold, this is hilarious!!
MVP is Slurpy
10 minutes in I'm already like poor slurpy.
I was just wondering, but is it possible to play this story with 1DM and 2PC?
Yhea i kinda saw that they both went unconsious after the first goblin fight and the goblin draged them in the cave and they had to fight there way out. wich with only a couple of fudged rolls they suceded.
Consider giving them an NPC combat assistant
Yhea well that is what sildar halwinter has become for us. But im not sure if im doing it right for now they are both playing him and deciding his actions but should i assign it to only one pc or even play him myself?
Wilto -Kun Sildar leaves your party once you get to Phandalin. He should be controlled by you.
Yhea but my party kinda convinced him not to leave
Oh! Where is the dwarven cleric? She was nice playing...
great intro
lol
All 4 minutes of it. Lol
I just wish they'd avoid carrying on several conversations at once (I count 3 at one point, which includes the camera man.)
Did you never actually finish this module?
Make slurpy a party member
I don't understand... Slurpee is such a stud!
Why won't they just heal the fighter with the cleric?
At least in the beginning of the clip, the cleric is out of spells. I'd have taken a long rest too.
dang. he's still wearing a tie.
"after we finish eating that, we're going to eat you!"
They're eating her, and then they're gonna eat me! oh my Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh-!
Well it's about damn time lol
Emi Tanji rocks, She gets into the play as well as good rp. And on top of that she's HOT!
Ye
Quick thinker, too.
51:47 LOL

.
What happened to Liz?
Spoiler alert, they don't wrap it up in the next week and a half.

Hi
why 5 min intro with just title? silly editors XD
Do the people running this channel seriously not realize that you can trim a video (even after it's uploaded) to remove the 4 and a half MINUTES of nothing at the beginning of this video?
Evidently one of the actions you can take during a short rest is rigging a bridge :P
Only Valen was resting. So I would guess that the whole group doesn't have to rest at one time.
mistamichal The plot thins!

48:14 Dude thinks he's playing WoW LOL
where is the blonde chick?
I wanna be friends with you
This DM is hot :)
This DM asks waaaaaaay too many leading questions. Stop doing that and let your players take control of their characters.
It's not THAT funny, emi. Please stop laughing
i love emi...
