Another absurd argument. No EU rules will have any weight for UK. what fishermen decide to share among them selves is their affair .People got on before the war they must do so again, fair and just. But British Water with the 12mile limit ARE BRITISH WATERS.

The wee guy fishing from Hastings is the fishermen that deserve our sympathy , he's wrong though to blame the eu , his issues are caused by DEFRA , UK Gov , and English POs , and he knows it . The reason he's throwing fish away and eu boats are not is because the retiring English skippers sold their share to the Dutch and French . FACT.

The seas have not recovered! Period. The problems is over fishing by EU countries. If the seas are so good why are they no good of of Holland, France and the Baltic? It's no surprise the European fisherman have raped them into extinction. Why do you think Norway and Iceland are so rich in fish and are producing world record line caught fish? Because they keep these EU prats out of their waters and now the Irish have done the same. But our government kept that one quite did they not boys.

Overall, UK fishing market has been growing consistently for the last decades. The small fishing industry is suffering in each country, not only in the UK, and that's because of capitalism: small business trend to lose in favour of the big ones. It's a shame, I'm not saying otherwise. But don't blame the EU for that. If there was a lack of fish due to the excess of fishing, then I would say, yes, renegotiations are need. But the point is that Britain has an excess of fish: you guys have neither the boats to catch, nor the market to consume all of your fish. So, what is the problem? Why suddenly back from a deal you agreed decades ago? Why suddenly tell to all those French and Dutch families and companies that have invested so much money in their business, that they have no longer the right to access? All because of sovereignty? Are you willing to hurt that much your neighbour countries and gain nothing in return just because you don't feel you are in control? In one word: pathetic.

I don't know why they don't fish more in captivity in tanks and avoid overfishing and meet demand. Why don't they breed so many fish and throw so many back? Why don't others pay a flat fee for the amount they catch in our waters to our own limits and set our own the same way giving our fishermen in our own water the advantage.

So what happened to the UK fleet when it joined the EU, decimated, every port effected, many of dozens of trawlers scrapped, nobody seems to think about that. But the EU sells the UK cod caught in its waters back to the UK but concerned that we can’t sell fish they want caught in UK waters to the EU, is this a joke.
