    That side subframe bolt I thought I was weak! I couldn’t get it for the life of me. Thank you for the video. I’m going to attempt this tonight. I want to change steering bushings, steering tie rods and sway bar. I have not seen any of my bolts come off easy and my evo isn’t rusted!

      Thanks for checking it out! Yea they can definitely be deceiving haha! I’ve had some that didn’t look bad at all and it take forever to get them off! Hope you’re able to get them all off and swap out your stuff! 🤘🏼

    Man you made the column look easy. I read the how-to’s and they didn’t make a lot of sense so I though F that and I ended up taking the rack off the subframe which now looking at this was FAR harder. I might drop the rack, which is just hanging now, and bolt it all up on the floor before I refit it. You released this at a good time man!

      Thanks man, appreciate that! Was a little anxious about it going into it but it wasnt’t bad! Oh wow! I bet that was super hard! How did you get to the bolts and stuff?! Well, glad the video helped out at least a little haha!!

      @@RyneDickens With great difficulty!! I dropped the shaft out of that spline yesterday the same way you did and dropped the rack out. Seeing it all out now I am not sure it's the best way though - the manual in the Power Steering chapter shows that it's to be broken at the splined knuckle with the 13mm bolt that's hidden inside the concertina rubber boot. It's easier to re-align as there's markings on the metal. I guess either could work and there's pro's and cons to both. See how we go getting them back together I guess!

    ACD line routing is either for cooling, or a carry over from the JDM/Euro cars where the ACD pump is mounted in the rear and the lines run through the tunnel from front to rear.

    • @RyneDickens
      @RyneDickens  Рік тому

      Ah you know what, cooling is most likely the reasoning for that, I didn't even think about that at the time!

      @@Ivn_IX I actually did remove the acd unit, all the wiring and lines that came with it as well! Went with a Stage 2 Non Acd one!

    Before I remove my subframe where is best to put my Jack to support the engine? Any info is appreciated and great video 🙌🏻

    • @RyneDickens
      @RyneDickens  Рік тому +1

      I’m not 100% sure honestly, I used the engine support beam to help hold mine up now that everything is out. I don’t like the idea of just a Jack on the oil pan but if you put a piece of wood on the Jack to help distribute the weight / pressure it should work but 🤷🏼‍♂️

      Yea man! It’s worth it IMO, that one was only like $80 or so from Harbor Freight and it seems pretty dang strong 🤷🏼‍♂️ I will say tho, the angle is kinda weird on the car, I’ve only got the clutch side supported by it right now.

    Do i have to disable the airbag sensor before removing the steering rack and How do i avoid damaging the steering ribbon?

    • @RyneDickens
      @RyneDickens  Рік тому

      I would, just in case. My battery was already fully unhooked so I didn’t think to mention it. But yea , any sort of work on the car I always undo the battery. Also, what do you mean the steering ribbon?

    How many turns does an Evo 8/9 steering each have?

    • @RyneDickens
      @RyneDickens  Рік тому +1

      I’m assuming you mean that in the literal sense but I am not sure to be honest! I know evos have a pretty low turn radius but I’m not sure on that one haha!
