Holy hell you saved me with that check valve thank you so much I didn't even know it was there. I cleaned it out when I changed out a fuel pump couldn't figure out why when I shut off the engine 10 mins later I had to reprime the system watch this video went back to where I dumped the fuel and sitting in the screen was my ball you saved my ass thank you. I will definitely send money to you best advise video I could of watched.
You have done an EXCELLENT job of explaining this fuel pump. Forced to use ether in one of my trucks for more than a year. And I know that ether starting is a MAJOR sin. Now,,, I can trouble shoot and know what I am looking for. Mechanics that I have asked tell me "injectors" is my problem. IT'S NOT. My injectors are nearly new. Thank you so much. You probably just saved me a pure mint on repair. Best of luck.

@@giles-df9yu totally agreed....changing the HPFP on the DD series is expensive and not always so easy to get to,inframe with the Cab on....especially on a Freightliner...60 series are the way to go

Man I like your UA-cam videos. They really help me save money. I have a 2015 Cascadia. My fuel water separator is draining out overnight and I already changed the check valve in it. It could be draining out faster than that. I have to put fuel in the separator in order to start the truck every morning. I see a lot of bubbles in the glass. What is going on?

The 2 main fuel lines on the driver side keep breaking on me. I’ve had to replaced both lines 3 separate times now in the past 2 months. The truck has a starting issue as well, I have Step on the gas pedal to help it start. Could you give me your thoughts on how I should go about this issue? I do most of my work on my car and on my truck because then I know it will be done right. Thank you sir.

Thanks for all good information. Have DD 15 trouble starting Put cut off valve on return fuel line . Pressure rise the system with fuel. It started fast...opened valve on return fuel line ...let it run 1 hrs. Closed valve shut off ...next morning tried to crank with Pressure to the system... no luck . Do you think I should go inside to check the internal check valves. I do need to check the ball in the 1st filter your help will be appreciated thanks Frank
Once I brought the OME softwere and started working on my own truck, that is when I started to understand why many mechanics just change the whole assembly.

Got a 2016 freightliner with a DD15 it cranks but won't start Davco leaks down lots of bubbles, I removed the final filter on the fuel module and filled the housing up and the fuel leaks down in the housing is it supposed to leak or stay up

Okay I have a 3 filter system. I just changed the Fuel quantity valve to fix surging while idling. It fixed that problem now I have to crank it with starter fluid and It just showed a code for low DPF Fuel pressure. Spn3480/1 after 2 days of driving. I wonder if one of those check valves will fix my problem.

Freightliner hasn't made parts for the three filter systems in two or three years. As he said it cheaper and better to convert the old 3 filter to the 2 filter systems. But it really better to not have a dd 15
some housings are different and are not equipped with check valve. anyway, detroit is forcing buyers to buy the whole fuel filter housing instead repairing it by not offering replacement parts.
What year is the engine of this particular module? Im having a crank/no start on a 2011 dd13...weird crank issues..starter will only engage for 3 to 5 seconds...scanner is showing good rail pressure and mirrors the desired (I think it was 340bar)...truck attempting to start but wont actually run...checked all fuses,clean power,showing over 150rpms while cranking...another technician replaced MCM module due to water and oil damage(module was full of liquid), but engine still will not start..I do see some smoke coming from the stack during the short cranking, but still wont start under its own power..in start position, engine will only crank for about 5 seconds,then stops rotating...engine does start on a shot of start fluid(which I dont like using)...but shuts down as soon as I stop spraying.....checked all 6 modules on my scanner and not getting any codes..am able to see all of my live data now too...prior to MCM replacement was not getting communication, but now communicating after replacement of module....also,did have a code for MCM not shutting down-battery floating, but all terminals are clean and batteries are good......this is in a 2011 Freightliner Cascadia....engine was deleted, but not sure if new module is affecting the deleted DPF.....engine is attempting to start,but is acting like a fuel issue....also already checked all fuel supply, filters,etc....any other recommendations would be very helpful..im use to the 60 series and not very familiar with the DD 13....wondering if the prior delete with the new MCM is the cause of this...thanks in advance 👍

Sir, the tip of the straight bracket, in the large compartment, cracked open. Trying to remove the fuel filter. But you say; that it doesn't have more than just a simple function. And is just to positioned the fuel filter, right❓ Please respond😊

We have one truck that has some hard start issues sometimes. I took out and cleaned all the check valves. It has not had a problem yet been 3 weeks

Is there check valve on the newer style filter housing? The 3 piece filter kind
4 piece filter is older style, yes they have, look again the video, is almost in thr end

You can buy the check balls separately there’s also a check ball in the fuel water separator.

the large filter bracket directs the fuel in one direction if it broken, it is possible that the engine won't start
