I was just released from the hospital a few days ago with broken ribs from two falls; recently diagnosed with a degenerative muscle disease. All of a sudden I'm bedridden and need care. I feel that my time is running out, and even my Visiting nurse has my condition listed as grave; but my family just keeps saying, You have to be more positive, and stop talking like you're going to die. You just need to gain some weight and get your strength back.
I really need this video Father. The thing is, I'm perfectly ready to die, but my family insists on acting like I'm " just fine" and I'll be up and around again in few months. It's making me crazy. Because instead of spending time with me, quality time that might end at ANY time, they just breeze in and out of my room and act like everything is normal. Meanwhile, I'm feeling this is going to be my last Christmas, and I'm going down hill fast, and I feel like Noone is taking me seriously. I am trying to prepare for death now, literally, and this video couldn't have come at a better time for me.

it sounds like they’re not willing to think about losing you which can be perfectly understandable, they just love you so much that they don’t want to imagine losing you because if they have to face that idea without any other perspective outside their current one, it will make them go crazy.
it will be a really hard conversation that you will need to initiate if you want to see them see it the way you do.
as i watch the state of america deteriorate faster and faster i’ve already accepted that this is the end of our current way of life altogether and that giving my mental energy to the politics of a dying country is a waste of the precious time God still has for me here now. my parents on the other hand are convinced that God is gonna put trump back in office and save the whole country from angry woke leftists. i need to have the same kind of conversation with them about doing anything to avoid thinking about the bad things happening.
i will be praying for you guys and for that conversation to end in a fruitful manner with everyone drawn closer to each other and to God.

@@DA-vs1ib Yes, I would really appreciate your prayers. Although God has me in the wilderness right now, and I can almost actually see Him slowly detaching every string tied to the world, spiritually He has me in a good place, and it seems as if He has me alone in a place where I can only hear Him. I am humbly in awe of a miracle that I saw God perform just last night. Someone asked me for prayers for their daughter and the Lord put it on my heart to pray for the scales to be removed from her eyes so she could find her way, and then for someone to be put in her path to lead her to her home. I heard from the mother this morning that her " missing " child had been located, unharmed and was home. The thing is, the mother never told me she was missing!!! God is still doing amazing miracles and I have wept with joy that the Lord used my humble prayer.
But, my family cannot understand any of this. I am in a different mode right now, that I can't explain. But the minute they enter the picture, my sister and husband, everything becomes so much more difficult. They, of course, are living entirely in the world, and so almost all conversation now is about " managing" and getting by until I'm better; every detail is a millstone around their necks, and conversation is either about worldly things I am no longer involved in, or them trying not to make me feel too guilty as they struggle to pay for my meds, keep me going. The strain is becoming difficult. I spend most of my time alone, and then I have peace. I would hope for a quick heart attack or a cure, because while grief and loss hurt ( I took care of my mother on hospice) , taking care of someone in decline can be almost a soul destroying experience. I'm struggling under the weight of the extreme guilt almost every time I see them, because I can see the toll it's taking on them, and THAT is taking my peace.
I'm sorry to give you all of this unsolicited, unwanted information, but I really do need prayer for this, and it's making me crazy. The only peace I have is when I'm alone, because all of the interactions are so stressful that we can't even really enjoy spending time together. Every conversation is either completely fake, talking about things that will never happen so that I can be " positive ", or grim and desperate as they campaign and strategies, and tell me " you don't need to feel sorry. We know it isn't your fault". It's terrible.

@@zackhocker4625 Yes, I understand the situation with your parents. Up until I was diagnosed with this illness, which has precluded most other topics, most of my dealings with my family were similar. People not understanding that the NWO is going to roll in. God answering prayers for is, and coming to the aid of his people in future, I don't see as " God putting the conservatives back in power and remaking America ". People, just like 2,000 years ago, can't get their minds around the fact that the Kingdom of God is not an earthly Kingdom and Jesus isn't going to return as President of the U.S. But people think only in terms of the world, and consistently try to solve spiritual problems and spiritual warfare problems with worldly and political weapons.
The conversation in every Christian's family is going to be difficult, because one thing is sure. Noone is getting out of this alive, lol. Jesus will be coming for us all, even if he comes for us one at a time. And the only way we will be able to go through the future hardships and remain Christian ( assuming we really are), is if we realize that we have to be 100% dependent on God; not political reform, not social programs, not legislating new morality.

May God restore your health and bless you abundantly. It is wonderful that you have focused on the Spirit and put the worldly things secondary. Life is difficult and it's painful when dealing with our emotions. But the truth is that when you surrender to the Lord, you become fearless of the world and He is the one you live for. In all the struggles and suffering, the Holy Spirit is able to alleviate it all. We must put our trust in Him who died for our sins. 🙏🏻

Death is an important event in our lives. When death occurs, the soul separates from body. We will no longer be able to pray for ourselves. We will be judged about how each of us will spend eternity. Death is not to be taken lightly. It's a delusion to say that death is nothing. Let's go to confession and prepare ourselves for this judgment.

Can someone help me understand the difference between confession with a priest and confession direct to God through prayer?

    • @noway165
      @noway165 Рік тому +1

"Confess your sins one to another" according to St Paul. Bible based teaching.

Edit: Of course we should also repent! As The Lord said " go and sin no more ", and when we fail in our struggle, repent, confess, and partake in His Holy Mystery.

Very good sermon. I have a question, how should one pray if they need something very important to happen for them, for example if they need to leave an area or city with their family but there are problems meantime? Should they pray the Lord's prayer, or simply express themselves directly with words from from heart? How many times a day or hour should they pray?

Pray as often as you are able. Pray the Lord's prayer, the Jesus prayer, read about the lives of the saints, talk to God in your own words, pray before meals, do prostrations, sing hymns, try to remember the Lord and love the Lord. (written by Ginny, John's wife)

      Resist the demons.
Their big trick is to try to make us think they do not exist.
Something besides flesh makes us, us.
      Soul and spirit.
      They continue.
Your being is not just electrochemical impulses in your brain. That part which thinks, plans, dreams, loves, is far more than just lifeless responses.
Don't let them demons fool you!
      Love to you!

Father - I have a question that has been bothering me recently. What should I do if I live with someone whose sin affects the family greatly but refuses to repent and see the wrongs in their sin? I know we must be forgiving as Christians. I can forgive this person, but I don’t want to act accepting of their behavior either which is how everyone else is treating it. It’s causing everyone a lot of suffering and I feel very conflicted on how to act

I will make a reply though I speak only as a laywoman, but one who went through something similar to you. Part of our problem is our desire to diagnose the sin and categorize it. That is the job of a confessor, they are the doctors, so to speak. If we think we know what is best, then we blind ourselves to the reality of the situation and it simply becomes a problem in need of a solution. Life isn't like that. Confession doesn't work like that either. The sin that manifests in the wounded individual is often the result of deep, harmful shame and deep wounding by other sinful individuals. But it is not for us to diagnose this, though the more we get to know the individual the more we may see the deep reality of these wounds. People are complex and there are no easy fixes.
Practically, here are a few things that I think may help. (1) If we end up enabling their sin (eg. giving them money for drink), it is we who need confession. (2) We must speak the truth to the individual and say how OUR behavior is hurting others, and we must do it in all gentleness. (3) We must never seek to blame the individual solely, it puts too big a burden on them and they often then feel unable to repent because they are paralysed by the thought of failure. (4) remember they are sick, and remember the devil loves to kick us when we are down, they may be fighting a very heroic battle with the devil that we are not aware of, there may be deeper sins the individual is battling against about which we know nothing. (5) encourage the whole family to go to confession on the same occasion so that the family are in communion, that will be a true source of healing. (6) little acts of kindness often allow the person to take the first baby steps towards healing (7) If they are manipulative, unpleasant, foul mouthed or violent, these are traits we shouldn't accept in anyone, call them out as unacceptable, and seek protection if they put you in danger.

Defending the true faith. This is sainthood if only the world's men choose his path. Part of how the are created is in sin by humans or attracted to work for thier sin feeding on it and serving it I have really no clue but where there is sin they're they are. We help the soldiers of light the same way by practicing holiness. Like revelations God's angels take the prayers to God. There is an earthly conflict.

My biggest struggle with my religion in Christ has been that even in Orthodoxy, aren’t Heaven and Hell said to be states of the soul and not physical places? I’m just scared to have faith for my whole life and then be greeted by an empty void. I know faith and rationality tend to be separate creatures, but I don’t know how to have faith without rationalizing it

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. I don’t know if you are Orthodox or Catholic. If possible, find a good orthodox spiritual advisor or priest (Orthodox or Catholic) to help you understand. If you are Catholic, you can also call the EWTN open line shows, or contact Jimmy Aiken at Catholic Answers.

Is it necessary to confess to a priest to be forgiven?

    • @noway165
      @noway165 Рік тому

      marta is correct.
St Paul teaches "confess your sins one to another" so it is witnessed, the 'two gathered in His name' but of course we confess to Christ as only He can forgive our sin.
The priest follows the Apostles, 'to loose' us from the sins.

We confess to God! We are all priest according to Hebrews and Christ is our High priest. We also confess our faults one to another according to Scripture. We have access to the throne of grace. Jesus alone, even the Holy spirit makes intercession for us. Not man.

One cannot prepare oneself for death, because the Self was never born and cannot die, unlike the transitory body-mind complex. Every self is none other than the Self: the Self of all selves.
An agency that judges ain't gad: an omniscient being has no need to judge.
