I am confident to say without the Holy Spirit working in me I could not say no to my passions. The first step is to ask God for the Holy Spirit which Jesus secured for us by dying on the cross. After attaining the Holy Spirit, we must continue being patient as God does a good work in us, and we must repent when we fall, so we can stand up again in humility. Anyone who does this day by day, year by year, will begin to see the transformation come quite divinely through God's good grace. Father as a lifelong Anglican who has grown disillusioned with the direction of my Church i have come to the conclusion of the Orthodox church being the true church of Christ. The problem is that the nearest Orthodox church to me is 2 hours drive away in another city and as a disabled man who doesnt drive this journey is impossible. I love Christ and not being a part of his true church is causing me real distress , i fear that in these last days i am in the wrong church , an untrue church which has come under satans spell and so everyday i pray for more Orthodox churches to be founded in the UK with all my heart. Watching your videos on a daily basis for a couple of months has motivated me to attend an orthodox church service for the first time since I was a child. I have been twice in the last week and hope to make it a daily occurrence if God allows it. I truly want to thank you for giving me the courage to return to the House of God. I saw these times coming years ago, and I took it upon myself to prepare on as many fronts as possible, ranging from stores of martial equipment and information to the acquisition of primitive knowledge and skills. While in the process, these holy truths were always in my mind: storing up treasure in heaven is paramount, and as God takes care of the sparrows, so He will care for us. It’s my belief that “prepping “ is not in vain, because we need to somehow sustain ourselves and each other, and it’s said that God will not allow undue suffering amongst His own. The germ warfare unleashed on the world by the global powers three years ago didn’t faze me because I saw it for what it is and have been suspecting such a thing to eventually happen. We rest in God’s Holy Peace.

I've put on my Armor of God and ramped up my prayer for others Salvation and give out Bible tracts showing people the easy way to Christ's gift of Salvation. I feel so sorry for so many, young people especially. It hurts to think of what they are in for in Eternity in Hell if they can't be reached in time. I Put pressure on preachers to stop the merry go round of everyday messages and press the important issue of salvation. To totally saturate everyone's ears with that singular message. Time is incredibly short.

💯 I always say the same things myself. I've never heard anyone speak like this and I have well over half a century in this world. Fr Spyridon is truth concentrate. You could take a teaspoon, mix it with a gallon of water, and drinking it would still be full of flavor. Every sentence is worthy of deep contemplation.
In the Divine Liturgy we commemorate the saints who overcame the same lusts and desires we are subject to, often willingly suffering martyrdom because of their unwavering faith. They serve as examples for us in these days of gross iniquity, that we might overcome our bodily lusts and desires and achieve salvation, thanks to the forgiveness of Lord Jesus.
Thank you so much for these words Fr. Spyridon! I am a recent convert to Orthodoxy. God has been rapidly transforming my mind and vision. I saw a play this weekend that almost everyone I know said was great. It was supposed to be about people coming together to help others in need. I thought it would be great. Then I went to see it and it was about people who lived according to their passions who somehow were good because they cared for people in need. There were so many scenes of people overtly living in mortal sin proudly. There was no message of confession. And I began to think this is how the antichrist deceives people....convincing them they are good because of kind acts without ever having to repent of mortal sins. Then I wondered why so many people I know liked this. And I realized it was less crass and immoral than the vast majority of things out there. We have become numb to immorality because it has become so accepted and commonplace. What a sad state of affairs we are in! Lord have mercy on us all and help us to see our sins and repent!!

you made an important distinction in suggesting martyrdom is a fantasy for most. you're right, me being a martyr has more to do with carnal ego than my saintliness. i say i would lay my life down for God, i'm sure many say this. how many actually would go through with it though? how many people would actually be satisfied when they reach the other side and learn that their chance at existence is over? how many would be capable of the same forgiveness that Jesus mustered?

I am confident to say without the Holy Spirit working in me I could not say no to my passions. The first step is to ask God for the Holy Spirit which Jesus secured for us by dying on the cross. After attaining the Holy Spirit, we must continue being patient as God does a good work in us, and we must repent when we fall, so we can stand up again in humility. Anyone who does this day by day, year by year, will begin to see the transformation come quite divinely through God's good grace. Father as a lifelong Anglican who has grown disillusioned with the direction of my Church i have come to the conclusion of the Orthodox church being the true church of Christ. The problem is that the nearest Orthodox church to me is 2 hours drive away in another city and as a disabled man who doesnt drive this journey is impossible. I love Christ and not being a part of his true church is causing me real distress , i fear that in these last days i am in the wrong church , an untrue church which has come under satans spell and so everyday i pray for more Orthodox churches to be founded in the UK with all my heart. I saw these times coming years ago, and I took it upon myself to prepare on as many fronts as possible, ranging from stores of martial equipment and information to the acquisition of primitive knowledge and skills. While in the process, these holy truths were always in my mind: storing up treasure in heaven is paramount, and as God takes care of the sparrows, so He will care for us. It’s my belief that “prepping “ is not in vain, because we need to somehow sustain ourselves and each other, and it’s said that God will not allow undue suffering amongst His own. The germ warfare unleashed on the world by the global powers three years ago didn’t faze me because I saw it for what it is and have been suspecting such a thing to eventually happen. I've put on my Armor of God and ramped up my prayer for others Salvation and give out Bible tracts showing people the easy way to Christ's gift of Salvation. I feel so sorry for so many, young people especially. It hurts to think of what they are in for in Eternity in Hell if they can't be reached in time. I Put pressure on preachers to stop the merry go round of everyday messages and press the important issue of salvation. To totally saturate everyone's ears with that singular message. They serve as examples for us in these days of gross iniquity, that we might overcome our bodily lusts and desires and achieve salvation, thanks to the forgiveness of Lord Jesus.
Thank you so much for these words Fr. Spyridon! I am a recent convert to Orthodoxy. God has been rapidly transforming my mind and vision. I saw a play this weekend that almost everyone I know said was great. It was supposed to be about people coming together to help others in need. I thought it would be great. Then I went to see it and it was about people who lived according to their passions who somehow were good because they cared for people in need. There were so many scenes of people overtly living in mortal sin proudly. There was no message of confession. And I began to think this is how the antichrist deceives people....convincing them they are good because of kind acts without ever having to repent of mortal sins. Then I wondered why so many people I know liked this. And I realized it was less crass and immoral than the vast majority of things out there. We have become numb to immorality because it has become so accepted and commonplace. What a sad state of affairs we are in! Lord have mercy on us all and help us to see our sins and repent!!
Isn’t it amazing how we start to view this so dramatically different? Im reminded of the line in Amazing Grace, I was blind but now I can see. It really is like that isn’t it? And Im only contemplating conversion and I have completely changed how I see life. Really astounding actually!

you made an important distinction in suggesting martyrdom is a fantasy for most. you're right, me being a martyr has more to do with carnal ego than my saintliness. i say i would lay my life down for God, i'm sure many say this. how many actually would go through with it though? how many people would actually be satisfied when they reach the other side and learn that their chance at existence is over? how many would be capable of the same forgiveness that Jesus mustered?
We can only pray and hope that The Holy Spirit would fill us and give us the strength to accept martyrdom
