I was saved 14 years ago, as a Protestant. But in the past 4 months I’ve been watching many of these interviews with orthodox priests, and I feel God stirring in my heart that Maybe the Orthodox Church is where I belong.. please pray for me

Please pray for me everyone. I am 17 and fighting a fierce fight against the temptations of masturbation and pornography. I rediscovered the faith (I was baptized orthodox) around late 2022 and early 2023 and have been learning and practicing since. One day, when I can drive, I’ll go to an Orthodox Church and become a catechumen if necessary.
Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me, the sinner. ☦️

Once you can drive 100% go to as many services as possible and become part of the family. So much of knowledge and understanding in Orthodoxy is experiential. I’m just recently baptized and feel your struggles. Confession helps - the sacraments are profoundly real in a way you can only know by participating. Persist and struggle brother. Sin is swift to snatch us but our Lord is faster to save for those who call on Him. Pray, and pray a lot. Pray the Jesus prayer.

It is not dishonest to say that I can scientifically prove God exists because
Once you realize that Earth IS NOT a spinning ball floating in space, once you realize that Space as we know it from Nasa does not exist,
then it will be much more simple for anyone to see that there is a Creator
The Bible even says "even demons believe"
Atheists are simply lost, dumb souls
      They are deceived by satan
The whole theory of evolution, big bang, gravity, ball earth is a deception made by satan himself,
Scientifically, the globe is a hoax, it does not exist
Earth is stationary and it is the center of creation, and it has leveled surface, exactly as it says in the Bible
Terra is a leveled plane, surrounded by an ice wall and with water above and below the firmament
There is a firmament as it says in the Bible, that divides the waters above from the waters below - the oceans on earth
The book of Enoch which still exists in the Ethiopian Biblical cannon, talks in more details about the shape of Earth and about the Universe
Ethiopia is the first Christian Kingdom in the world, and the oldest bible is in Ethiopia
Dinasours never existed, they are a hoax together with evolution and big bang
All the dino bones you see in museums are fake
Dragons and giants and other creatures that The Bible talks about, did exist
There are no aliens, but "angels" and "demons"
The Moon is plasma, it is not solid, all the planets above are luminaries, non solid objects reflected in the firmament
Nasa or Nasha in hebrew means "to deceive". It is a satanic organization together with the majority of the Government.
nasa is satan, Earth is not a planeT, but a plane.
It is all an attempt from satan to make people atheists. The devil is real and he wants your life and your soul.
Look up "top 20 proofs earth is not a spinning ball", I cannot write the name of the channel because my comment will be automatically removed by yt algorithm
Things are much deeper and much worse than you imagine
Once you realize this, you WILL HAVE TO COME TO THE UNDERSTANDING THAT the question is not if there is a creator, the question is who IS GOD?
And unless you come to the CONCLUSION that GOD is YESHUA JESUS CHRIST THE SON FROM THE TRINITY, THE MESSIAH,
unless you come to this, you are still asleep and not awake
THE OLD TESTAMENT IS THE INTRODUCTION TO JESUS CHRIST THE TRINITY
"I AM THE WAY, THE LIFE AND THE TRUTH"
This is what you NEED to understand
The war is between Christ and satan
And they fight for our souls
JESUS CHRIST THE TRINITY IS THE ONE AND ONLY GOD AND THE ONE AND ONLY WAY
JEWS ARE THE CHOSEN ONES SO THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS BETTER THAN ANYONE
IF THEY DON'T, THEY ARE ASLEEP AND NOT AWAKE
THE ONLY TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS ORTHODOXY, NOT CATHOLICISM
May God Yeshua Jesus Christ THE TRINITY HELP YOU!!!

Agreed! I"m Orthodox and also have befriended Sikhs who invited me to participate in their Seva, or 'Selfless Service' and it was very spiritually fulfilling. The focus, at all times, is on the giving, not a 'transaction', i.e., offering service and expecting something back. Just giving and serving. If you expect something back in return, you miss the point entirely and would be counterproductive. Works are important. Believe, live the belief, become, and 'DO'.

Father, I'm Persian. Living in Thailand. Born and raised in a modern-age Muslim family in Iran. Came to Thailand in 2018 to sin in peace and also get rid of the ever-increasing madness of that rotten society. I've been sinning in all forms of it, an absolutely pathetic specimen of a man. Just about a year ago in 2023, I had an encounter with something that I could not and will not comprehend its nature while dying on an incident of overdose. Shook my existence. I can never reflect on it properly even if I tried for years. All I can say is that I'm so new to Christianity, furthermore, I see it as a miracle that the message in the video, has reached out to me. I wish it reaches out to everyone who is lost like I once was. Praise be the Lord. He is EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE. In every single atom from one end of the cosmos to the other, in all dimensions. In Jesus' name, I pray for everyone, and may God have mercy on us. Please pray so the Lord reaches out to my Mom who is the most innocent person I've ever met in my life. She's muslim and she doesn't know the real God Jesus Christ of Nazareth. May God bless every second of your life. Thanks ever so much🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

I was a young adult convert to the Roman Catholic Church. Later, after marrying and having our first child (baptized RC), I came across an article in the local paper (Minneapolis-St. Paul) about a Lutheran pastor who converted to Orthodoxy, and I felt (the Holy Spirit, no doubt) the overwhelming need to talk to this man. Long story short, I started attending Intro to Orthodoxy talks at the Cathedral of the Holy Protection (St. Mary's) in Minneapolis (OCA).
Like you, Father, I knew fully that I'd found the truth, and gradually felt the Spirit's urging to convert; my husband said his parents "will get used to it". I went to confession with our Catholic priest about my experience, and he said, "Oh, you don't want to get involved with the Orthodox - they're just a bunch of feuding factions." Last time I set foot in that church. I knew I truly was Orthodox.

The father, son, and daughter used to sing in the choir. Am not sure what is happening now.
My husband and i watched ST. MARY'S all the time during the lockdown and afterwards..
I still do.. at least i watch some and sing along with the choir and almost always hear the homily and forward links to it..
I think you are in very good hands there..
I assume you know the story of St. Alexis Toth..

First time watching something like this before in a long time im now 30. Ive been through many different strife in life, and felt pain, just like anyone else rape, assault, mental health, money woe, not feeling like I truly belong, not feeling like the world is correct, wondering my true purpose wanting to forgive the people who raped me, life has been just as life is. Im learning and realising how much brain washing and evil was placed before me, and I'm trying my best to find god and start my journey through healing to his love and light. My mother always instilled his love and glory, I just ignored it. I rebelled against the most high, being confused and hurt with the devils control, and this just concretes my feelings. Thank you Jesus. Thank you lord. I am working through my sins and will repent and ask for forgiveness. Please whomever sees this and feels his love, pray for me brother and sisters. And I will do the same for us all. Blessings and love to all. Amen.

I have anyway a mention to do: not all catholic churches are the same. Many of them are doing fasting and prayer. I agréé that salvation is forgiveness and healing. Thank you father. I am EO and I was pentecostal long ago. I dont know american churches but for me it sounds very strange that they do not teach holy life in other churches in america. Becouse in my country pentecostals focus lot in holy life. When I was pentecostal I was trying to live very ascetic life and tried to live holy life. I did not alow for myself worldly hobbies and I always thought that real christians need to sell everything had and give them to poor people. I tried to dedicate my life Lord fully. But later on I started to loose that zeal and I started to learn about church history and orthodoxy. Later on I joined my native orthodox church. But honestly i need to say that I did not become any better than I was. I dont hear teaching about holy life. When i was pentecostal i had zeal and i wanted to serve Lord in church and help other people know christ. Now when i am EO it seems that there is no purpose in my life. it seem i need to just give few minutes in a day to prayers and do fastings and live life just like secular people. i use to think i want to dedicate my life to missionary work and I did. I went to one islamic country and i lived there for years learning the language. Now when i am orthodox i cannot do missionart work and i cannot go back to that country that i sacrificed my youth for. I tried to speak with my priest but he is very busy and i think he misunderstood me. He thinks i want to be something special. I dont want to be anything special. I just want to have meaning in life. I really have deep feeling in my heart that i should go back to that country and continue life there. But as an orthodox it seems i cannot do that since orthodox believers cannot do missionary work. I even have lost good relations to my parents and siblings becouse I need to think they are heretics. I have been deeply depressed since i became orthodox. I would appreciate if you would have any thoughts about this. Thank you father.

That deep feeling is the Holy Spirit, it is written (Mark 16:15). Don't concern yourself with whether "this is the true church" or "that one is the true church," that was written too, (Mark 9:38-39). It will take great courage from your part and you will be risking your life to bring the Gospel to the Muslims because the elites of those countries need the legitimacy of a false prophet to keep their tyrannical grip on the population. You will most likely suffer in this mission like the apostles did, but your purpose will be clear and your mission in this world would be accomplished. Our Father will reward you with greater riches in Heaven that you could ever have on this fallen earth, it is written (Matthew 5:12).

But becouse she sees that i have became only deeply deppressed and bitter for life she cannot think i am in the right road. Its very hard for me to explain. Our soul (will, intellect, and emotion) is being saved from the power of Sin (sanctification)
Our body (the flesh) will one day be saved from the presence of sin.

I’m curious about your thoughts on Ascetic necessity for salvation. In the past I’ve read Colossians 2 as needing to avoid ascetic practices (in Paul’s case, eastern religious [perhaps even buddhist] and Stoic beliefs, and instead, removing yourself from the situation where you would fall prey to temptation, as well as it being okay to lean into your emotions rather than deny them. Jesus wept, but Marcus Aurelius (correct me if I’m wrong on that, but I believe it was he) would say “when you kiss your son before going to bed each night, remember one day he will die” so that you don’t get too attached. My question is what is the orthodox reading of that chapter, and how can I understand it better from your perspective?

The Lord Jesus Christ said that the Holy Spirit proceeds from God the Father, that is why the Orthodox say so, in 325 the first part of the Orthodox creed was decided, and in 381 the second part about the Holy Spirit. Then there was only one Church and the Catholics and Orthodox. In 1054 the western part (Catholics) wanted to be bigger and came with other teachings and that's how it came to the separation from the eastern part (Orthodox)

    • @southj89
      @southj89 6 місяців тому +5

The Orthodox view is that the Holy Spirit proceeds (is caused by) the Father alone, but that He was sent to the Church by The Son (but does not have His cause in the Son.)
Originally many said the Filioque (and from the son) referred to the temporal mission (being sent into the world) and not cause. However, over time as Rome began to innovate after cutting themselves off from the Church, they had their own councils where they explicitly said that the Spirit proceeds (has His cause) in both Father and Son
