Cheers have had a cracking session here and in previous fishing trips maybe I can catch the odd fish. There has been a super trawler going up and down our coast for last couple of weeks that catches 250 ton of fish a day from Europe. When I go back will have to see how it fishes then. Takes me back my second ever beach rod was a east Anglian rod co one a twelve footer with the folding eye 😃 in 1984! Caught many a cod with it great video 👌🏻

Watch all your videos Vern love them the augar rod you used was originally made by Hardy and will be between 30 and forty years old made of fibreglass but should have a carbon tip which was rare for the year. I fish in the Hornsea area so familiar with the spots you fish. ..tight lines
Thanks Dave for supporting the channel. Didn’t know that about auger rods but the one I have is fibre glass all the way and is a tournament special 2 to 8 oz. Lovely rod and only a few quid. Some people said may be from early 70s. Lovely part of the coast is the Holderness it just takes so long to get there with speed restrictions all over 😡. Hi Vern great video am 67yr the large bottom eye were all the rage when I was in my twenties, for fixed spool reels, glass rods were nearly all 12 ft apart from Abu 484 11ft 6in very easy to cast, soft by today's standards but pulled in plenty of fish over the years tight lines
Strike Now Fishing This rod is over 14 foot good condition and great to use. Will be using it more so lucky to find it. I have a alvey reel which is meant for the rod I believe. Thanks for information all the best Vernon.

That old Auger rod is obviously lucky you wanna use that more often mate. Well done on your smooth hounds, thats species I've never caught but to be honest I've never fished for them, I always carp fish in the summer. I guess I'll have to have a go for them this year, I've never caught any type of ray or a soul either, so you're thrashing my species variety list big time.

Philip Albon no problem with fishing one day just need to keep our distance a bit at this time. Bit busy with work but something could be sorted later. I buy the prawns from Morrison’s £10 for 3 trays you get about 30 prawn I bag them up in 6s for a session they are big buggers. They are frozen raw prawns.

john rubie hello John thought I answered but it’s a breakaway tripod from breakaway. Went on there website 2 weeks ago and they did not have any. Very little stock even hues it’s the lurgy thing.
