As her mother Patty said, Piper is the heart of the family, as she was back then. She wanted her sisters to be around her, so that she doesn't have to be alone.
@@anamorphosys85 ~ Patty was right, Piper was the heart of the family. Even though Prue looked out for and protected her younger sisters, it was Piper who did the little things for the them, that only a mother would do. The 3 complimented each other abilities. Not just the witchy ones either...
For those who have lost a loved one, a family member, hearing those words "there's nobody left to help us" its heavy and you have to be strong for yourself and for those who are still with you.
I get it :( I lost my mom when I was 29, my dad when I was 34, divorced my alcoholic husband at age 35, then he passed away 2 years later , lost my only uncle when I was 38. I have no siblings , no aunts or uncles . I have raised my 4 kids alone . No matter what age you are when you lose your mom & dad or a close family member that is like a mom or dad., you feel like an orphan . It’s a terribly lonely feeling . Holly is such a good actress
The title lmao. I wish the rest of the show cared this much about continuity: recreating the s1 hairstyles, the s1 lighting, and the little detail about the book being put in the trunk (where it was found in the pilot).
Patty could've released the sister's powers, but she knew that the bond between them wasn't strong enough, which is key to the power of three - they weren't getting along for years.
Penny lost faith in the girls during her last moments, she’s so proud of them in death. Talking to Patty, don’t we all wish we could do that. Before this scene, the wind blew out her candles 🕯 and had to light them again, “I’m sorry Patty, I got cut off line”.
Can’t blame her I mean, the reason she lost faith was because after what happened to her daughter you know? But thank goodness the circumstances have changed
@@darthdracul8372 No, Penny lost faith cause the girls didn't get along. And was afraid they wouldn't when they became witches. They were constantly bickering with eachother. So Penny was gonna secertly give them a permanent power stripping potion. But died befor hand.
It was actually shot in season 3 but they made it look so well that it could've been a prequel to the pilot. Also between the season 1 and 3, 3 years have passed, so the actresses didn't age too much. Plus the make up does the magic.

2:19 i could feel their worry and desperation there. They lost parental guidance during early adulthood when things tend to rough up. Their dad being a NO SHOW in Gram's funeral, i could definitely join in on Prue's anger. They could've used his guidance and support here.
When you lose someone unexpectedly, who has been your guide in the family, aside from having no goodbyes, you are suddenly confronted with stuff you have to deal with which you have no experience in. You are forced to grow up and become an adult and it's just brutal. The anxiety of the unknown is unfortunately very real.

I am devastated that we’re only a couple of episodes away from AHBL. Please to whoever uploads these snippets, do my Shannen PROUD. Upload so many bits, hospital scene, the opening, magic being exposed, Prue’s Carrie moment and time being reversed ending with Shax closing the door and shattering the close. And Cole’s deal with the “devil” (source). I need it ALL.
OK, I'm not the only one that gets a little anxious the further into Season 3 we go. Oddly AHBL was the first episode I ever saw of Charmed (I had just started my career when this show started so I didn't make time for TV for a few years). So I was technically prepared for Prue to go, when I decided to invest in the whole series and get the DVDs, starting from the beginning. Still, I get a little sick at my stomach when we start Season 3. It's kind of the same with Downton Abbey and Sybil. Also Season 3.
There’s a theory that says that the Elders killed her to prevent the Charmed Ones to not be awakened as witches since she wanted to make sure they never gain their powers back
Interesting! I liked the way they did it here but your way is a viable option too. It's possible they realized that once they got to that point in the series "hey we shoulda done it THIS way..."
Phoebe was always jealous of Prue and Piper relationships and Phoebe got jealous when Piper and Paige started to get along. Phoebe was a jealous person
It makes perfect sense with that kind of sibling energy. My brother and sister still squabble over that sort of thing (I'm the middle child - the Piper of the family - just wanting everyone to like each other at least)
Grams should’ve never bound their powers to begin with I understand she wanted to give them a chance at a normal childhood but imagine how much more powerful and prepared they would’ve been had they kept their powers from childhood to when we meet them in their twenties.
I feel like the reason Grams died was because she tried to bind their powers and stop the power of three from happening but i feel like that was her who wrote the inscription in the book of shadows in the first episode when Phoebe looked in the basement for the first time because she felt she was wrong and that the power of three was something that needed to happen and she couldn't stop that from happening but i'm glad she accepts it now and are proud that their whiches.
Or she just had human heart problems. It's a nice story, but I don't think it was that involved and sewn into the fabric of this particular manifestation of wiccanism. (Wicca-pedia? lol)
OK I need a dedicated fan to explain something to me I haven't been able to figure out. The little vase thing. There's a piece of paper wedged in it with the recipe to do the binding (we learn from Piper). But it looks like she never got around to doing it! Yet somehow it gets done. OR....has she already done it and Patty is just chastising her for HAVING done it? I think it's the latter but I don't know for sure. Anyone got that part figured out?
