you should get front and rear bash bars now, so you can practice and not have to worry about destroying a radiator and definitely get a aluminum radiator ,oil cooler and baffled oil pan so you can hot lap the car and not have to worry
As a JZX100 Chaser owner (my daily), I’m stoked to watch this build! As a drifting amateur, it’s also cool to relive someone going through the initial steps and learning the basics.
Glad to see you´re getting into drifting, also for the foreseen collabs. But at the mean time I enjoy following you for beeing the one going for time-attack... All that said, have fun!!
I can't wait for the rest of this series!! I've been watching all of the east coast CarTubers (Jimmy Oakes, Grant Anderson, Adam LZ, Collete Davis, Chelsea DeNofa, and probably more that I can't think of right now, as well as a couple west coast bois, shout out Randy @ Illiminate) going to Japan and ripping all of their Chasers at Ebisu for matsuri, and now you get a Chaser for a US drift car! This is gonna be so good. When you go back to Japan the next time, you should see if you can get an Ebisu car and go rip their "School Course" (aka skid pad) and eventually North Course! Or just borrow somebody's car, lol.
You have the best car to start to learn to drift. Talk to the jzx king for suspension mods to learn more. Adam lz has the recipe to dial in your suspension and he will teach you everything you need to learn about the car.
I'm all for Build.Break.Repeat, but I'd probably have removed the headlights, taillights and some other parts before going out on my first drift day. Who knows how easy/hard to get they'll be, so i'd probably source some out to store and go through
I like the idea of you using a Chaser over things like an S13-15. It's different and on a platform you don't normally have in your garage. Looking forward to more drifting videos! #madeittotheend
My guess is, it was easier to get a JZ car than have to deal with an SR or CA, or having to swap a JZ or LS in it, but the chassis will push him into learning how to steer a boat on land, so it'll be nice content
fr, he has all the money any of us would want, yet instead of buying a beater for a drift car, he buys a well taken care of manual model just to trash it...
@@dusterpl6093 @noelthan594 if he went for a beater he'd have to build it before driving it, deal with engine swaps and chassis stuff, which would probably just make him forget the idea and do something else. I'd probably remove the headlights, taillights and some other exterior parts and keep them stored for a while, so when I'd feel comfortable with the car I could put a body kit on and paint or wrap, and not have to pray that they are available to buy and don't cost a kidney.
Idk if you remember but back at Modest this summer, I met you and got a chance to talk about your future japan’s trip a bit. And I was the person who recommended you to try the Chaser. So seeing this video makes me feel very happy, cause now I can say I might’ve contributed a little towards making you getting into a Chaser 😂😂😂
First off been watching a long time and glad to see a rwd chassis on the channel again and hope too see you stick with drifting this time. Hope to see much more and learn some more in depth about the jzx 100 / 1jz as someone with a jzx90 myself. And not to be negative and more helpful than anything, might want to start out not running your kit right off the bat. Will save you big money and time. The damage may have been cosmetic but them kits ain’t cheap and the wait time isn’t exactly the shortest. Maybe front/rear bash bars. And bumper less runs until you get the hang of it and then style later. Seat time/reliability first and aesthetics later! Can’t wait to see more drifting content👍
Don’t know how I missed this but this is cool man! I myself drive a jzx90 and really enjoy the car. Would definitely recommend doing a front mount, koyorad, rear subframe and diff bushing, as well as new front ball joints to freshen it up a bit at minimum super good and fun car that’ll teach you a lot!
If you plan on getting a new steering wheel, sell off that trd wheel. Decent condition now are close to 2k, so that one can probably get you close to 1k. Someone can get it rewrapped and save some money going this route. Win win for everyone
Very excited to see this progression and build! I know we watched a similar video with the 86 drift car, I feel like I missed a video where you sold it. I’d be interested in hearing the story of the Levin and the comparison between the two when learning to drift. I know the chaser is the preferred drift platform of the two. I’m very excited to see what you do with it!
Speak to Sammit he will tell you exactly what parts you need to get and where to get them from. That crash was caused from snap back from not committing. First thing is a seat and some yashio factory harnesses, steering wheel, Then get bushes, angle kit and suspension sorted and that will put you on a good starting point bro
Hey Dustin for more information on Chasers you should look for Sammit he is a chaser guru for drift build! Would love to see a colab between you and Sammit on this build
Spends $30k on a stock car to drift. Easily could’ve bought something with some drifting mods for much less that can stand up to more abuse. The old owner is rolling in his grave.
I am so excited for the Chaser build, this is going to be epic and I can't wait to see how you progress over the year... Also, I'm 100% gonna be here in the comments making sure you're out there putting the time in so that way you can be able to drift with all the buds.
@@dustiinw. I know this is for challenging yourself to a learn a skill. I would love to here the Business sense behind using the is car. Sammit broken down the business sense of this S15 buy. I do hope you hear us that support and admire your work. Life is real making good business decisions while it it good days . Is also good content . Thanks for all you do
Hey Dut I'm stoked to see you get a JZX100. I can't wait for the build. I've got an idea for a future livery for it. Would you mind if I drew it up and sent it to you and where should I send it to?
The best part about a 1JZ/2JZ vs any RB is that 1) they sound so much better, 2) they can make up to 800hp on stock internals and 3) they are completely bullet-proof if they've been somewhat maintained at all, whereas RBs explode from a gust of wind being too strong.
That was way too clean just to be turned into a drift car. He should've gotten a gt86 or frs or gr86, because those are the new s chassis. The chasers are way too expensive and clean to be turned into a drift car.
Bro bought a tank for a reason. It’s his car to worry about not yours. I know that’s a crazy concept. But it is his not anyone else’s. He can learn and buy whatever he wants as a grown ass man.
mann great video as always!!! i recommend trying to compensate the speed while initializing, at the entry of a drift. just be more gentle with the throtle, the slower u go the more angle u get!! and i know that u feel it when the revs r at 6k that it just wont go sideways. keep practicing dut, much love
Dude, this is AWESOME !!!!, back at it again....I watched when you were building up the BRZ to do just this....Now that you have the Chaser, ya need to pick SAMMIT's brain on the Do's and Don'ts on building this up.....✌✌ もっとやれ
I would at least put a angle kit on it so it is more drift able! I understand learning with it stock but it does need angle and a handbrake so you can correct the car if you spin or start to spin! I only say that because you’ve gotta think that is a Dream Car for so many of us, that we will probably never be able to get! Especially as nice as that one was!!! #alwaysmakeittotheend
#MITTE I definitely back up what you said to the end cause the chaser a crazy ass build coming from where randy sits with his . I know their should be a tandem line for sure with you 2 in there
People without lots of money buys old Zs to learn. This guy start learning (from ground zero!) with a clean JDM car. 😑. He has the money to throw away to get views and conversation. 👌
Build it ebisu spec. Cage, seat steering wheel, good coilovers, put a link on it to tune the stock motor it’ll make it reliable for endless laps and be able to learn the most from it rather then an over built car
This has me WEAK 😂 whoever owned this in Japan took really good care of it. 30 seconds later totals the front end.
you should get front and rear bash bars now, so you can practice and not have to worry about destroying a radiator and definitely get a aluminum radiator ,oil cooler and baffled oil pan so you can hot lap the car and not have to worry
This! Also a front-mount intercooler to replace the tiny stock one, because you know Dut's gonna eventually want to do some power mods, lol.
Tim just standing there with his hands in his pocket like a disappointed father when you hit the tires😂

R.I.P. chaser you were mint.
Can’t wait for this build. Love the choice in car although it hurts with such a clean example. Love that you’re doing this. Excited for drift content!

Awesome to see Stephanie again, can't wait to see the drift progress!
Love the chaser BIG fan!!
Really looking forward For the drift en modification video’s.
