Very interesting Kendall, I was wondering and searched my heart out for the Name Wahtoke. It sounds like a native American name perhaps but after an hour online I got no answer. so I give up. Never the less it was a nice trip as always. I had never heard of this Railroad Adventure but you made my evening a good one. Thanks again. Have a good day.
So glad you found my railroading channel. I'm a lifelong rail fan. The Wahtoke Creek runs through the property and that is what the trestle is crossing. I don't know how it was named but it is definitely a Native American name.
@@RailroadAWK More research for got to record it but: Wah means water in One native tongue, Navajo I believe. Kids say more wah wah when they want a drink and to toke means to take in. Also wah wah is what the train says when coming to a crossing. So what I now see is Wahtoke is water stop for the train stops to take in water. Toke was more abundantly used back in the hippie days as another drag or to draw in now known as toke . A token from the Creek "Wahweap" is a Paiute Indian word meaning bitter or alkali water. Water or Wah so water toke Water stop what ever. Water toke or to draw in at the creek I usually am never satisfied until I find the definition of the word i am seeking. Mystery solved on my part: The Wahtoke Creek or put simple the water hole.
I was at Railfest on Sunday and a conductor told me that they'll be opening another station called "Southpark Station" in some years from now. So you'll have to do a video on that
We have a ton of B roll. Always do when we go there. We did this before Railfest as a favor to the staff as a tribute to Sean and Melissa. We will do a longer version with more interviews after it's over.
Great channel! Lifelong train enthusiast 60+ years and enjoying your videos 🙂
Thank you very much!
Yes! It reminds me of the Goat Canyon Trestle, now abandoned in San Diego County.
I need to go there. I've heard so much about it.

That trestle is incredible!
It is! It's the longest 15" gauge in North America.

That's exciting and I'll be there. I love the Hillcrest gang.
You should do a "B Roll" which means all your footage from the three weekends in March 2024 and the new track!

When are you releasing the interviews video after Railfest?
It should go out today.
