When Geyser Gazing goes WRONG...

🌐 Upper Basin of Yellowstone National Park
We were trying to AVOID getting soaked by Beehive, which is notorious for covering geyser gazers standing on the boardwalk near the geyser so we decided to view it from across the river to stay dry...the geyser had other plans for us 🤣☔️
💡 Tip: if you get geyser water on your glasses, camera lenses, or electronic surfaces, wipe it off immediately! The minerals can damage these items and some geysers have water that can be very acidic

The concern isn't the temperature. The water from a geyser contains minerals that can damage your phone camera, glasses, and other lenses as someone who had expensive equipment set up to capture the eruption, it was not safe for them.
