I used to have a Daisy 188. I bought it at a Pawn Shop for 30 bucks. Worked great, although it didn't have much power. it did well on cans though, so it was a nice plinker!
Very nice vintage stuff! I feel like "untested" means I know it is broken but you will have to figure it out by yourself 😅 (I think pellets are bigger than BBs to engage rifling instead of sliding in a smooth bore)
Love watching you repair the oldies. Timing was perfect talking about springs bouncing out. Was putting my 1911 back together yesterday & while turning the bushing back to lock the plunger in place the plunger went flying about 12 ft barely missing the tv screen. I shouldn't have been working on it since hands were really sore from arthritis & had no strength in them. Learn the hard way. 😆 Hope you are better. 🙏
I didn't see it in the comments, and haven't finished the video yet, but yes, the side is for BBs only and the back is to load pellets. I've had this gun for roughly 37 years.
I have that same pistol and you are correct The BB only part is where you put the BB's in then you single load the pellets in the back because it does fire both bb and pellets but I guess the pellets being heavier they don't come out with much force. My bb's roll out if I point the gun down I'm assuming there's a magnet in there that may be missing in my pistol, any thoughts on that? Love your channel.

I like my 188, it belonged to my father
Maybe fun to try darts with!
I learn so much from watching your videos! Thank you!

Does yours shoot pellets well? I have two now and they can barely get a pellet out of the barrel
@@WalnutandSteel yes it does. I do think I have lost a few fps over the years.
@@WalnutandSteel in your search for these pistols, did you find a site that sold parts? My safety is missing. Not a huge deal, but I'd love to fix it.
Nice on camera repair/mod!
