There are things (racist things) that only my family call me too. Acting like racist terms aren’t re-appropriated by all cultures is crazy.

It’s what keeps giving the word power. You can say it in a non-racist context and get shit on for uttering the 2 syllables, simply because of the color of your skin. @@ProtossHyrdalisk "Acting like racist terms aren’t re-appropriated by all cultures is crazy."
The n-word is the only racial term I can think of that's been reappropriated. Jews don't say "what's up, my k-word?". And for areas outside of race, context is taken into account. You can describe an LGBT person as "queer" descriptively, as long as you're not using it as a slur.

BROOO, WOW, STOP TALKING ABOUT THE THING I ASKED YOU ABOUUUUT xQc is extra skibbidy toilet today
Could Destiny have made the same point without using a slur? If yes, then it was unnecessarily and edgy.
locution was a nice touch
Excluding certain people from saying a word because of their race is weird, if only if there was a word for that.
I think the whole argument is stupid, either everyone says it or no one does. If it's based on ancestry, then white people with black ancesters should be able to say it. If its based on skin colour that means everyone darker can say it, Sri Lankans would be the princes of the n word. None of it makes sense its just a "I can say a word and you can't" power move by many black people.
And it's frustrating bc as a black person, seeing my community gatekeep a word (poorly) yet our own race makes our community unsafe at the same time just makes us look stupid and I can see why other races don't take our plight seriously
I've always beleived that a condition in which certain words are reserved for certain groups while carrying extreme social penalties for others is not sustainable. The dam will break one day.
yup as long as we don't play by the same rules that will only breed dissatisfaction, like had the word been in usage ny everyone, it would be used to the point of being dead. It is kinda like society turned into a schoolyard and went "you can't say that you are not in the club"
The dams already cracking. Insta comment sections are riddled with the N word now. The R word (rhymes with leotard) seems more shocking to use nowadays then the N word. That being said, freedom of speech + time and place = no real issues. Sticks and stones. It only hurts ya as much as you let it.
Honestly more time passes the more I see people use it and the more I see black people thinking it’s ok for white people to use it
What a stupid fucking arc to go on
And you're watching
Yeah. Destiny is going down a dark and tarded path right now. He's been a little more publicly self-destructive lately. It kinda worries me.
I understand where he's coming from, but he's being really irrational about this partucular thing. A lot of the assumptions he's making and using as arguments are really dumb, too. No one cares about the word anymore? White girls can use it if they're dating a black guy? Stuff like that just shows how out of touch he is on this.
The n-word crusade has never ended well for anybody once they start using it on public forums. The private useage argument is one thing, but he's pushing further than he should. It's not worth losing a career over.
In my entire life and I'm pretty sure many people can testify to this, I've NEVER had someone care if I say or someone else says a slur. It seems like it's mainly an online issue and people in everyday life just straight up don't care.
A lot of people are likely not going to confront you about it. If a person doesn't care enough to show some class/respect in public, then I have to calculate the risks of confronting them. Words can lead to fist fights, and it's just not worth it.
Freedom of speech means allowing any words.
And allowing any consequences. (minus violence)

It shows his strength and it’s will considering paying out of pocket to keep minors around who, if only out of some *unripened* sense of obligation, “love him, I guess, has sort of been his MO for like half a decade now, at least. In this video, i drop an n-bomb. Biiiig one; hard 'R'. I did this to show my interlocutors that their language doesn't impress me, that their slurs don't frighten or disarm me. You can see from their reactions that it worked - they were clearly taken aback. It was a power over which I am entirely unashamed of, but I understand how that language might have upset some of you.

as someone who had black ancestors 100,000 years ago I give him the soft-a pass. For the premium pass he'll have to get the operation.
There are no bad words , only bad intentions. since 10 or 15 years ago people started acting like saying the word En Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr (have to write it like this because of filters) causes orphans to get leukemia which is absurd. If you aren't using the word En Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr as an insult then people have no more reason to be offended than saying any other profanity in public. No one can provide any counter argument for this. It's become a brainless taboo that people go along with because if you don't then some people will try and attack you and get you fired or yoour account banned for no reason. saying Enn Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr is no more rude or offensive than saying the word Eff uu Cee Kay. It only become more offensive if you use it as an insult.
I can't stand people pretending that context and intention do not exist and make no difference to communication. As though saying "look that person over there said the word Enn Ii Gee Gee ee Arr" is the same as saying "Get our ot of here, Enn Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr"
why did u spell it like that 💀
@@log-in1051 I wrote why in the post.

Oh ok. So if I told you "I take disrespect from the word cracker so you should never use it again, even when you're talking about what savoury biscuits you like to eat with with cheese" and you refuse, are you being disrespectful? Should I "drop" you if I overhear you discussing your groceries?
Obviously it would be unreasonable and entitled for me to violently attack someone who said the word cracker when they obviously weren't using the word as an insult and obviously didn't have any bad intentions.
The same goes for you.
The reason why it's reasonable to be offended if someone calls you an En ii Gee Gee Ee Arr is because they are expressing racial animosity to you. It's the bad intentions behind the word that make it reasonable to be offended.
Now suppose instead you're walking down the street and you see an african-american man collapsed and a chinese guy trying to give first aid to the injured man. You ask the chinese guy what happened and he says with a thick chinese accent " a man hit him and said ' get out of here Enn Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr' "
In this case is it reasonable to get offended ? Would you "drop" the chinese man in this scenario?
Of course not because obviously intention and context matters.
saying En Ii Gee Gee Ee Arr isn't a magic spell that causes african-americans to get struck by lightning whenever it is uttered.
It's the intention that counts.
You would not have any good reason to "drop" the chinese man because you know that he doesn't have any bad intentions , similarly you don't have any good reason to feel disrespected by a word being said when you know that the word is not being said with any intention to demean or insult.
