Thank you for all your hard work on making this video. I was contemplating bagging my 1998 Chevy S-10 but now I’m taking your advice and do coilovers because I want to race it. Your truck is tight!

I had an ext cad S10 2001 4.3 5 speed almost 20 years ago and I bagged it. But did a terrible hack job of it my first try since I was young and on a budget. Then years later I redid it properly. I definitely suggest you do it right the first time, save yourself the headaches and just spend the extra money so you can have more fun.

Wow I have a new found respect for trucks on bags. Especially with older setups. That's a lot of modifications and maintenance to the vehicle to get everything situated and functional.
I have a 2013 Camaro 2SS on 3P airlift . The performance series bags/struts are bolt on without any fabrication to the vehicle itself.
The Manifold, tank, and compressors are in my trunk with room to spare for an audio system and my airlines are ran inside my car alongside my stock electrical wires under the carpet.
If I had to do all this I dont think id have it in me to go through with it. This is some dedication no doubt.
My only maintenance is keeping the system dry and I bought a push button activated drain kit to purge condensation. Sure i have to clean my smc check valves about every 6 months but that only takes a few minutes.

Proper relay and circuit beakers you shouldnt have draw, both of my silverado trucks I built ran off stock batteries with built stereos too. Run both compressors through a Stinger 80 amp relay and a 80 amp circuit breaker, wired through key power and you will have no abnormal draw. If the vehicle sits for long periods of time, a trickle charger is a good investment.
Viair will not warranty compressors mounted upside down, they are self libricating. Sideways is ok but best method is on a mount straight up.

This comment is long - and has a lot of tips in it - #MiniTrucker for LIFE!
Did you bring that truck to Midwest Drag Fest when they brought that show back? I swear I did photos of it lol! @/minitrucker for life! Don't wait for electric compressors - get a belt driven one that you can mount to some brackets onto the engine - so much nicer and IMO more dependable. Dakota digital is about 2 miles from my house! Love that place. (Sioux Falls South Dakota) oh no AC so that's where my belt driven compressor is.
Oh I got the compressor that is belt driven from a car/truck vehicle salvage yard from a older RV. I lucked out - they are hard to find! - Word of advice - Always have Extra air line with you AND extra quick release fittings for any leaks - and get yourself the lowest of the low jacks! - I have one off custom Nascar / Super Truck style dual pneumatic jacks built into the back half reverse 4 link. You dont want to see an airtank? Use your custom rear end tubular back half as the air tank - or make sure you do a nice job on notching the frame - use a nice sealant on the inside - cap one side or both sides off or link them - and have someone who can weld real nice - add a little bit of fluorescent leak test in it through a bung that has a air pressure gauge on it - pressurize it - let it sit overnight or for a couple days and come back and check it for leaks - if there's no air pressure - get a UV flashlight and search for the glowing liquid. And don't use cheap bushings - neoprene everywhere there is a bushing. And if you're not part of a Truck club / custom club / Mini Trucker club / lowrider club - NAME YOUR TRUCK AND PUT A STICKER THAT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE IT'S PART OF A CLUB on either the front or back window - Believe me, they get f*cked with WAY LESS that way!. Also - pet peeve of #MiniTruckers - Lowriders / LowLows - HAVE HYDROLICS not AIRBAGS - MINI-TRUCKS HAVE AIRBAGS - NOT HYDROLICS!
Oh and don't put air silencers on your air exhaust valves (Oh keep a few extra with you as well as a roll of proper gauge wire to power them and a bunch of zip ties! for temperary use!) DONT DRIVE IT UNLESS YOU HAVE IT ALIGNED TO "RIDE HEIGHT" - Yes - SET THE RIDE Height IN THE SHOP that is doing your alignment - if you have a gauges for air pressure - mark that ride height down somewhere - Riding too high and you'll wear out the outside of your tires - ride too low and same thing happens to the inner side of your wheels.
Don't get staggered wheels - Get used to rotating them for longer life. Oh and Get a air-hose and no matter the type of airtank you use, frame or air tank, get a bung for a standard shop air-hose - put on it - you'll thank me later!
You may as well just keep a custom 1 off tool box that can fit most of the extra parts you'll want to have in the mini truck at all times - also in that kit - LUGNUTS AND AN EXTRA SET OF WHEEL STUDS that are the correct sizes - especially if you have drop spindles. You see - the front wheels camber in because airbags are soft riding setups like Kevin said - and that puts a hell of a lot of strain on the wheel studs - over time if used as a daily - THEY WILL STREATCH - THEY WILL BREAK - do not go cheap on wheel studs and lug nuts - Even if you have a 1990 Nissan Hardbody with some 17" 6 lug 2004-2007 OEM wheels - it WILL HAPPEN!
Why not have silencers on your dump valves / exhaust valves? Because airing the bags up and dumping some air out by chicks walking down the sidewalk is fun to do - #TheReactions "WTF IS THAT?!"
Then petition to get Tailgate Magazine and Mini-Truckin Magazine back! We need more custom Trucks! Truckin' Magazine just doesn't do it!

Have a 1 ton Chevy dually, and I've been warned not to do it. One of the truck magazines was headed to a jamboree in New Mexico from California. And one of the trucks that was a dually blew a bag. Fortunately he had another bag to replace it. That cemented the warning for me. Not unless you know a better setup.

do your front shocks act as a suspension lift limiting device? Im just wondering on my setup whats the best way to know im at the correct height every time. instead of putting on limiting straps.

    • @fuelishmedia6717
      @fuelishmedia6717 3 роки тому +1

I would not use shocks as a limiting device. Also, it’s not a good idea to ride with the ‘bags fully inflated as they will make your ride stiff. If you have gauges set up, they can help you figure out the height.
