I bought this kit used off ebay and installed today with your tutorial as my only guide. Great video thanks. By the 5er mount, that includes the GM puck system. I can't use the u-bolts because I have the puck system in my truck.
I used these on my 2015 Sierra 1500 Z71. The suspension is off road, lots of travel. Even with good weight distribution I was getting bounce, these took it right out.
Brian W did you use the 7500 pound airbags or the 5000 pound for the 1/2 ton. Reason why I'm asking is I would like to have the heavier unit on my 1500
thewireman134 Why would you think you need the 7,500 bags on a half ton truck??? The 5,000lb bags are already rated at WELL above your payload capacity anyway.
Neat stuff...imagine pulling up to the air pump at a gas station needing to use the schrader valve and someone thinks you’re filling your fuel tank up with air? Going to think you know a secret
I have a B&W hitch on my 2018 DRW Chev. I was able to use the u-bolts on the bank mount but had to drill into the frame for the front mount. (Top mount). Also, I bought the stainless line kit. Both swivel fittings on top of the bags leaked in the swivel joint.
I have a B&W hitch on my 2012 2500hd kinda curious because I'm not a big fan of drilling a hole in my frame have you had any problems with the hole you drilled?
Nice! U cant get quality installs like this anymore!! mechanics don't give a damn. They do a half ass job and charge you an arm and a leg. U want something right, u gotta do it yourself! Thanks for the upload! 👌🏼
Hey there! This will not replace factory springs or other suspension components that set ride height. It's a supplemental support. This type of air bag system is different from what is used on some lowered vehicles. This is not designed to adjust ride height under normal driving. It is intended as a helper spring under different payload and towing conditions. A large load can cause the back of the truck to squat, and that can affect the handling and braking dynamics of the truck. This type of air bag is designed for load correction and will bring he rear back to proper ride height. Hope that helps!
I understand that plastic or plastic type tubing is easy to work with and is quick The problem I see with it is the life time of it . It wears out faster, is subject to easier damage ,the elements attack it and it is easier to break or come loose I know copper tubing is a little more expensive but it would last way longer and not subject to the issues that the plastic type tubing has . Saw a lot of failures of plastic in the motor home and rv type industry Is there a reason why you just do not adjust the cost up and use copper tubing
On 18 wheelers, plastic tubing is used on the airbags and it last a long, long time. Using a stiff tubing like copper would break because the airbags move up and down.
Dot approved 👌 air line boss very strong and its designed to take a beating all.weather and fluids. Not.degigned to be routed on a frame air lines need to.be supported for longevity, and reliability
This is just the airbag kit. Your choice of controller comes separately, so you can choose the setup you like best. The controller we installed on this truck is wireless, so you use the remote. They also offer a controller to mount in the cab, and they recommend to mount it on the dash, to the bottom right of the steering wheel, but you can mount it somewhere else if you wish. Hope that helps!
Does this or not require a air tank just curious I never used air bags this way as I have several rides on air ride suspension...but on my full size I was thinking of doing this cause of I pull a 34 ft enclosed trailer with 2 custom ridez to shows in Arizona and out of the state as well

I like how this is mounted. Is their something similar to this for a 1500?
did you mean the angle faces forward? not the center of the truck right?? thanks

Dj Felix something’s you got to do yourself
I have a 4 inch lift on mine would I have to get a spacer for them and if so what size?
good job i would of liked to see those air bags rise? but very nice teaching video.
What does it cost for 2011 CRV with this kind of project
Where you buy the pump?thanks
Check the video description! :)
No loctite required on the bolts?
So u cant adjust the ride hight? In case u need more or less air?

@@Blueknight1960 Exactly you hit the nail, i drive 18 wheeler and have million 800 thousand miles and never had those plastic tubes break.
@@Blueknight1960 air connection on air bag does not move up and down. It's fixed. But definitely plastic is better than copper for this application.

Does this or not require a air tank just curious I never used air bags this way as I have several rides on air ride suspension...but on my full size I was thinking of doing this cause of I pull a 34 ft enclosed trailer with 2 custom ridez to shows in Arizona and out of the state as well
No need for a tank
Go through the whole install just to scab the hot lead into the fuse panel. You've got to be kidding.
Nice one but why you install only one air bag
Nana Akwasi Agyemang Seriously??
Brackets that make the air bags look crooked?? Good job .
You changed the orientation of the manifold and didn't mention it!
Book says upside down , not ok. Side ways, acceptable. Flat up,recommended 👌
Can I use it with jeep grand cherokee for rear and front
Everything possible. But may have some little issues like braket, (based to availability on ur country)
Firestone has kit for the back but not front. It's the bags that go inside the coil springs.
hola requiero de un kit y asesoria para instalarle a una silverado pick up 1976, como te contacto para comprar.
Why didn’t you show the finished product and how well it works??
Thanks for the feedback! We'll keep this in mind for future videos.
Wat about the front airbAgs
No way would I attach the power lead to the trailer brake fuse.
camarogs1 - Yeah really. They explain how you should not do it and then didn't show you how you should not do it. :-)
That 20a fuse (on my '15 3500) is the trailer marker/tail lights.
Just hook to.battery it has a over heat feature to kick it off and if it detects a leak it will.run but shut down when not detecting and psi gain
Gracias. Muy bien explicado buen video
LOL
that tiny compressor for a Silverado ? 11:44
Doesn't need much the bags are the right length for the shocks limiting factor is the shocks. 10 psi lifts 2-1/2inches
