Having my coffee and planning my dog eat dog work day at a desk - Watched all the way to the end, Brian, as usual. Your experiences on the road following your bliss are just amazing and bring such light and lightness to my days. I look at camper vans in my free time, each day get rid of some of the clutter I've accumulated, and wonder if I could get my permanent fiancé on board and go nomadic. It's in my blood thanks to my Dad, like yours, being a lover of nature and adventure- to think of all the complaining my siblings and I did on our pop-up tent camping trip adventure across the US (Boston to Sacramento and back) one entire month in 1969. Now I wish he were alive so I could thank him. I think what I have learned in 62 years is there is no substitute for authenticity - being true to oneself. That is what life is about. When you simplify, become grounded in one-on-one time with peaceful nature, and meet authentic people, part of these experiences stay with you - the meet ups, the birds singing, the beauty of random encounters with lakes and streams ......and just breathing in intoxicating freedom- these are the gifts that simple living brings to you and that become part of you as a human being. Thank you for your really well done v-logs. I look forward to seeing what beautiful place you're at next and feeling, albeit vicariously, the intoxicating freedom of your next adventure. God bless.
Cheryl, I have saved your comment for future reference as I take to the road this Sept. I am just about your age, I agree with your thoughts and outlook but could not have stated it as beautifully as you did.
Rolling BnB . Thank you for your kind comment. It must have been a big decision or maybe you just knew it was right. I admire your courage and determination. From what I have seen, the benefits of living on the road are immeasurable in monetary terms. It just happens to be inexpensive!
Love hearing all the birds. I know how you feel with the alone time that's how I recharge too. That need for solitude is just another reason I think the vandwelling might be just right for me...and I'm on my way! I finally found a van!! I'm so excited!
AdventureVanMan You've been quite an inspiration Brian, so much of what you say and show really resonants with me. My adventure's just begun. I still have the conversion ahead of me but I have some funds and a really wonderful son-in-law who's willing to help me...and no, ha ha, he doesn't just want to get rid of me, lol.
Don't tell everyone but it really is almost as easy as it looks. Some are better than others but at least in the west they are easy to find in the National Forests & on BLM land.
What a fantastic time you had in Utah! Those magnetic screens are so great. I had one at my last residence on my patio door. All of the neighbors loved it and got them as well.
My little brother who passed from cancer was born on a indian rez in northern Idaho near Cottonwood. I used to tease him about his state name: I DAH Ho and my answer was Yes you are Jr. You are certainly the ho...may he rest in peace! Cancer got him when he was 42. Died within 2 months of finding out. So every time you say the state name it reminds me of that.
I'm going to build a solar tube shower for my deck using yours and Laurent's plan just for fun. I'm thinking that tapping a small ball valve on top of the pipe next to the cap/Schrader to let air out, and it doesn't matter if a little water comes out ...will do the trick??? good to have both fills though. ✌🇺🇸
Yep, leaving new friends is bittersweet. You've made a lasting friendship, but there are many more great new friends in your future. Just think of the reunions! Good times.
You're meeting some wonderful people and involving yourself in 'projects of growth', Brian. (The fence.....👍) As you said, sad to depart but now, enjoy your new environment of peace & solitude....recharge those batteries. JOY! 💚
Hey Brian love your channel. You may consider placing some angle iron under your abs pipe heater. Eventually the pipe will sag, thus looking bad and perhaps effecting performance. Placed in "V" position angle iron or maybe repurposed bed frame will keep your setup looking good. Enjoy your solitude. Maybe our paths will cross some day.
Hi Brian, I just bought a RV and I'm in the process of downsizing so I should be on the road in about a month!!! Your tips and information have been very helpful, thanks!!! I enjoy the little clips of the area with the drone views, I fly a DJI Phantom 4 and hope to get some interesting video of our beautiful country!!! I hope to meet you on the road someday!!! Enjoy the Journey!!!
We just purchased our Palomino a-frame which is much too small for a shower and toilet. Our solution is a cassette style toilet, which eliminates dealing with a black water tank, and since we have a hot water heater and outdoor shower we are just buying one of those mini "shower tents" and will use that.
If you have any Idaho boondocking questions I am from there . Jerome twin falls area but I know the state. Lots of free camping. Looks like your on your way to Yellowstone.
if u r still n the southern part of idaho, go to lava hot springs. also, if you go west of Pocatello, I know of free camping ON the snake river and could meet up with you. only about 8 sites.
I would be interested in how your van handling has changed Brian? I think if you could some how add baffles to keep the water from sloshing around might help a lot with weigh transfer. Your drone footage was well done! Thumbs up.
The shower is interesting but seems like a pita with filling and pressurising. Why not use an on demand water pump inside the vehicle which feeds into the bottom of the abs tube. Once the pressure is reached the pump will cut out and the abs tube is charged with water and the air within the the tube is also compressed. The pump would need to be switched off once the tube is filled or before showering..
Rob Vann , great idea, my idea of a shower system was very easy, I purchased a 16 gallon pesticide sprayer from Rural King, its 12 volt with a flow thru jet pump already installed, I put this in the back of the van for easy access, I cut the spray wand off and ran 3/8 tubing from the sprayer to a on demand LP gas hot water heater, from the heater I have 20 feet of 3/8 tubing going to a shower head, this system works flawlessly, easy to refill with a garden hose via the back doors, we use one of those little shower tents for privacy.
sc1212able definitely sounds like my kind of setup I've been looking at those for a little while now I kept asking my local Tractor Supply guy so many questions about them I think he thought I was crazy LOL
sc1212able I wanted something that had enough quantity of water that I can still give my Shih Tzu's a quick bath bathing and Dish needs. .. it's a toss-up whether I'm going to go that way or I'm going to do the Rooftop tubing but if I do the rooftop tubing I'm going to make it go all the way around and maybe even T it off in the middle of so there's a tube in the middle too my solar panels will still be able to fit over it with the roof rack and the fantastic fan will be fine in the back.. the only issue I see with the rooftop is I am only 5 foot 2 inches tall so they could definitely lead to some height-challenged issues LOL
Someone commented about ABS toxins. Don't worry about most of the stuff like that. I've had mercury fillings in my teeth for decades, always biked without a helmut, never bought organic food, never had to be rewarded for simply participating, no helicopter parents, etc, etc and at nearly 60 I'm in better shape than many other 20 somethings I pass while hiking the Whitrs up in NH. So sprinkling a little ABS flavored water on yourself I doubt should do anything. Hell I'd drink that water!
+Kris K Lol, thanks for the comment. Not to mention chlorine and fluoride in our water, and those nasty chem trails overhead, but that's another story! 😁👍✌
Hey Brian, Such a nice couple Laurent & Markay, you meet the nicest people on your travels, What is this Voodoo that you do? (besides being genuine and sincere.) 🤔 LOL, thanks Till next time. ✌
Unsim Kim hi, That phrase was created by Cole Porter, a songwriter who was known particularly for his exceptionally clever and inventive wordplay. This phrase is just one example. 😊
Have you tried not venting the air and letting the water pressure compress the air? I'm not sure how much water you can get before the water and air equalize but it might be an interesting experiment.

Hi Brian, I've been following your Vlogs for awhile now and I've learned a lot of good info. I don't recall you ever covering this question, so here goes, do you ever use your drone to scout out boondocking sites? If not, why, and if so, would you show us? Thanks for sharing so much of your life on the road while so many of us are 'still stuck in sticks and bricks', (sounds like a good song title ;-) ).
Hey Brian! Just curious. If you were to ever settle down again in one place is there anywhere you have found in your travels that you would put at the top of your list? You have been to so many sweet places that I am sure it's not an easy decision. haha. Utah looks so nice. But so has many other places you have been to.
Hey Brian !! Love you video's . Was wondering what your looking for in the new ride ? the box van ? I would like to try this when I retire, And thought your idea of the box truck is awesome !! I work on road crew , so I see some of them on the rosads , but never get the chance to talk with any of them ! I like the idea . I seen a video with Bob Well's call with out Bound , its a documentary about this Life style . But there's a man living in a box van and Bob said He lived in one also . I'm going on way to long , so i'll stop ! any help would be awesome , Thank you for your time....................Dave
id be worried about sag in that PVC. needs a third point of contact, once it gets really hot it will sag. Do you fish? looked like a great place to overnight. Peace

Congrats on the van Donna!
+Donna The van life is the good life. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! 😁✌
YaY! When and where will you be going first?
Lost On Land Again Thanks, I'm pretty excited! Now to convert it...but it will be a labor of love.
AdventureVanMan You've been quite an inspiration Brian, so much of what you say and show really resonants with me. My adventure's just begun. Hi Brian
You make it look so easy to find a boondocking spot
Don't tell everyone but it really is almost as easy as it looks. Some are better than others but at least in the west they are easy to find in the National Forests & on BLM land.
+Alvara DaCosta It usually goes well. I do feel like I get lucky though 😁✌
Idaho has some gorgeous scenery also! Love your videos!
What a fantastic time you had in Utah! Those magnetic screens are so great. I had one at my last residence on my patio door. All of the neighbors loved it and got them as well.
I have one on my garage door and love it. The sound of the magnets snapping together behind me is so cool. Lol.
What warm hospitable people you're meeting! And thank you for being kind enough to bring us along with you. ❤
Not a bad place to land at all. The birds were sure happy!
+Lost On Land Again Not too shabby! 😁👍✌
a nice place to relaxed after a hard days work! stay safe!
+Mohd Firuz Bin Ali Very nice place indeed 😁👍✌
Fence looks great 👍
Cool vid Brian Nice to see you out on the road again mate
+Pittwater Mowing Australia Thank you. Feels good to be rolling again! ✌
Great to see that you're back on the road, even though we didn't meet up while you were in Utah :(
Welcome to Idaho! Yes we have had a ton of rain & the snow pack is like 300% this year.
+Nina Cullen Thank you! I love rivers and lakes. 😁
Glad to see you back on the road again 😀👍🏿✌🏿
Nice team work on that fence. Keep on boondocking I live through you lol 😁one day one day 🚌I'll hit the road
+RENE Thank you! The road will wait for you 😁✌

I love your drone footage. It really shows where you are. Great video.
when I lived off grid I had several hundred feet of black poly on the gravity feed that was my hot water.
that's a neat setup for a van.
It's a good day, Brians back on the road! Safe travels buddy, keep up the life, let me know when your back through Vegas.
sometimes those social batteries get drained and you have to head to nature and get that recharge! I'm the same way. nice video Brian safe travels! ✌✌
Good to see you on your own again discovering your own happy place.

Good to see you back on the road!
Brian, you such nice people along the way.....😊
You do good work!!
Love your Channel. Keep fighting the good fight. Peace to you.
Great video Brian, Im the same, Love to get that time alone, just to get settled and peaceful again,
It's funny how much more room you seem to have since rearranging the inside. I always thought the other way was the way to go but maybe not. 😊
Finally! Love the drone footage!!
Great video Brian👍🏻🕊
+Fortunate Travel Adventures Thank you 😁

Even with this "not" perfect spot you make it positive and that is good

Looks like a nice little campsite.
I was thinking about that hot water tube. it would be great for a school bus or really anything. 40' bus= 35 gallons of hot water. awesome idea.
If you come through northern CA, I have plenty of room along with water and electricity etc.
Can stay as long as you want...
You have to go over and drive US 95 and US 93 to see the Salmon Rivers. Lots of great spots.
If you have any Idaho boondocking questions I am from there . Jerome twin falls area but I know the state. Lots of free camping. Looks like your on your way to Yellowstone.

+PCL Outdoors & Bushcraft The van handles the same. The pipe is too small of a diameter for sloshing to be an issue. No noise or anything. 👍✌
Awesome! I'll have to consider one in my future van build.
Great video, thanks a lot!

Idaho!! My homestate living down here in southern Idaho

I hope you are going to go north into our Idaho Mountains
nice fence work!
Have you tried not venting the air and letting the water pressure compress the air? I'm not sure how much water you can get before the water and air equalize but it might be an interesting experiment.
You could put a radiator drain valve in the end cap...

id be worried about sag in that PVC. needs a third point of contact, once it gets really hot it will sag. Do you fish? looked like a great place to overnight. Peace
do you know if kayaking was allowed on the reservoir?? seems a great place to float around on.
Brian, Cricket just reduced their $70 a month totally unlimited plan to $60, that's a good deal, I've been racking up 35 to 45 gigs a month with no phone throttling, Pretty decent signal also.
sc1212able, I'm in Northern Ontario and we don't have such a thing. Enjoy, I'm jealous!
Cathy Wright , really, Cricket is owned by AT&T, I thought they were in Canada also

I ready your reply with great hope, but alas, this is what I found when I Googled. Thanks for those brief seconds of hope, however! :-)
+sc1212able I've been happy with the Cricket unlimited. I have noticed some throttle on my Verizon unlimited though. ✌
glad you were able to make friends and earn a couple of bucks.
when ever i do my shower water abs piping i'm going to horse shoe it around both sides and have both ends sticking towards the back of the van
on the road again.
Was the pay good though? You busted your back for a few days, hope it left you some gas and food money.
Crurned Travels and Other Stories Forgive me for stepping in here, but what I have learned from these videos, those of the nomadic lifestyles, a little money can go a long way. You learn to buy so much less and your dollar goes so much further. Work less, live more. If Brian didn't think the pay was worth the work he would not have done it.
+Crurned Travels and Other Stories $15/hour
AdventureVanMan sounds reasonable, thanks for replying!
I would lock all the doors in the night at place like this
I thought water is generated through Solar energy. Is it not?! Wonder why it is called Solar shower then!!
Water is a part of the planets make up, its not generated anywhere. Solar is what heats the water. :)
Instead of a cap on the end put a L with a fillcap
