I guess the two cameras are to make sure you're filming the centre of your field of view, rather than it being off to one side. So the right part of the left camera's image forms the left part of the image, and vice versa? And then there'll be some trickery in software that'll do stuff like making sure the exposure is the same for both. I guess you could test it by shining a bright light into one of them or something? Or you could if you didn't destroy it, I suppose :D
From your vid I assume the camera with the flashing privacy light is the vid camera and the camera on the other side is the stills camera. That is if both camera's actually are camera's and one is not just a dummy for aesthetic reasons to balance the look of the glasses out.
Were you able to find out anything more about the camera module? I am looking for a small camera module like this and it is slow going trying to chase it down. Thank you.
If you suspect that the screws have thread lock, try heating them up with the tip of your soldering iron. It may require a couple reheats to get them out.
Hi Great Video 😊..I am having problem with my rayban stories case...would you be able to advise if the two connectors on the sides are only magnet or is it having charging properties...? My charging case has one of them corroded 😢
Can you check and advise if the ribbon wire that you just remove can withstand multiple or hundred thousand close and open test as we all know closing and opening the arm will break the ribbon wire overtime.
Hi Becky, I am curious if any of the Stories or Meta glasses have any wires connected to the lens? I want to change the lens in home country where they havent officially sold it yet...
I wonder how hard it would be to design a Flex PCB with contacts that can be put in a thinly 3d printed clasp to wire up an external power source. I have the Meta Ray-Ban Wayfarers and my only complaint is the battery life, I mainly use it for music because ear buds never fit well in my ears. The charging point on these is right above the nose and there is a 2-4mm gap between the charge point and the bridge of my nose. From the text printed in the charging case the output of the case is 5v 1a which would be easy to do with a usb battery bank. My Problem is i am no good at 3d design and I would not know the first thing about designing a printable thin clasp that could go around the bridge of the glasses, hold the flex pcb with enough pressure to keep contact, and route a cable out the top and to the side that could be held with mini clasps following the top of the frames to the ear stems so the wire could be routed behind the wearer and either under or over the shirt to a pocket worn battery bank or other solution
My all 3 pairs of Rayban stories all stop working . it's totally death. orange light cant capture. and another 2 cant turn on. I 've go its from Oct ,2021 & Dec 2022 . any recommend,Pls
She said in the video she had to break the glassed to get to the camera module. So physically it seems almost impossible and you might be better of putting a phone in your cap. Interesting question if you can just switch out cameras who have the same connectors. Might be possible to try that on old smartphones of the same brand who might use the same connectors.
Its seems Rayban smart glasses is like the bose frame that breaks after or before one year due to the ribbon wired arm of the glasses, i bought two bose frame and broke after a year. Hoping rayban is not same faith like bose.
It’s the same I bought mine in June and they just broke.. now I can’t get 2 months of data after vacation… trying to figure out how to get my data off it since they won’t turn on
Definition. A "buck" or "step-down" switch-mode voltage regulator is one in which the output voltage is lower than its input voltage. A buck regulator is a step-down regulator, as opposed to boost. so ,a somewhat proper statement would be bucking off the horse - if that is what you were reffering
Would love to see how they manufacture these. Doesn't look easy!
Yeah or how its put together
It's at the same time fascinating and scary to see how small and unnoticeable this kind of tech can be these days.
Right?!
Food for thought, these are the commercial size. For those willing to pay a premium, the size is likely quite smaller
I doubt they can get smaller without being compromised
Cool. Really densely packed. Mahalo for sharing! 🙏🙂👍
Thank You Becky
Thanks for being here!

Now they just have it on the left side
I love them!

Hi Becky, What are the dimensions and weight of the batteries? Thanks
Wow these are a huge improvement over other smart glasses! Are they light enough for all-day use without nose fatigue?
Yeah, they are light enough, the only issue is the molding line down the arms is a little sharp, but it's nothing a nail file couldn't fix.
amazing video

great job on the teardown! very insightful video

How do u get the storage out of it?
Becky smash!!! Love it! ❤️

neat video, relaxing to watch too.
Heat gun may have been a better tool to assist in breakdown with less destruction, just a thought. Good vid though.
That ct scan tech is amazing! We live in star trek. I am so happy im alive for this
I feel the same. So cool.
How can it communicate with other devices? (communication protocols). It's my school project. Thanks
Bluetooth and WiFi
Also does the charger on the snapchat specs work on the ray ban if you happen to know?

Aww man was hoping to see the size sensors they used lol

Would the battery ever go bad on this if it kept sealed and not charged for a couple of years?
Quite possibly yes
Cool video Becky! My daughter loves your "k" nails btw!
shame its such a nightmare to take apart, would love to try and rotate the camera so it records horizontal instead of vertical :(
Ooohhh
Since the camera sucks, can it be changed by putting on an iPhone camera that has so much quality? I haven't seen anyone do it..

Wouldn't the processor need to figure out the hardware? I doubt it would work

Jesus is it really that bad? Man moving parts on anything electronic is killer

Do more videos with Brookelynn Morris
Get some chainmail gloves for that cutting tool.

For some odd reason though, only one of those cameras actually function.
Led
On the Gen 1 it wasn't an LED like it is on Gen 2. It's like a dummy camera I think.@@Matanumi
@@socc3r7k1ng woah now that's just weird....
They probably wanted to do stereo scopic shit and bailed on it
Who else is watching this on how to destroy the LED awesome product I purchased to get clips at the casino. But that stupid light is a dead giveaway
a tiny bit of electrical tape should cover the light.
@@dondahighhh12 it would but the glasses would refuse to take the picture
1 or 2 cameras? If 2, for what reason ia the first and for what is the second?
How to remove LED? Drill it or what?
Cool.
