    Just finished watching this video. I can't put into words the enjoyment I get from your videos. I was at Yonkers/ Roosevelt from about 1975 thru 1984. For those years, I blew my allowance ( 16 in 1975), and then my salary every Friday night. Very rarely did I go on Saturday night because I was broke. Still, I look at those as fabulous times. In occasion, I bet a horse but don't gamble the way I used to
    Larry, I absolutely love your videos and I think bringing on guests will make your show more entertaining. They can expand on your stories which will be fun to watch. If I could change one thing, I wish your videos were longer but I'll take whatever I can get. Your videos will be longer with guests.
    Keep up the good work! Thank you for putting a smile on my face with your videos.

    I used to drive past Oleg Cassini's Estate in Oyster Bay, Long Island 🏝. In the mid 1990s. He had like a big Metal sculpture with his initials if I remember correctly. I think I remember seeing a few horses behind the fence. Matt NYC

    I know I never stop with the questions, but I'm captived by the stories...Morton Vinny, Super wealthy Jewish ✡ Businessman. Owned Thoroughbreds. Had a Farm on Northern Blvd, South side of the road around Oyster Bay too. He had a full size Chrome Sculpture of a Horse in action like halfway jumping up off the ground. Its still there till this day. I think most or all of the farm got developed in to luxury homes in early 2000s. Anyway, his "Big Horse" as we said on the Track was Jose Binn...he won some big stakes races in late 1970s early 1980s Angel Cordero up.
    Morton was very generous and loved to throw great Racetrack parties at The Farm. My parents went every year. His quests were given the best of everything and everyone left with a big Goody Bag 🎒. One year, they got a Nice Kodak Camera..."those were the days my friend..we thought they'd never end..." Matt NYC

    What is the Difference between a Pacer & a Trotter? It's a different gait, right? Once a

      I didn't like the Single Shaft for a number of reasons as did most drivers. One night at Monticello Benny Webster put me down to drive one of his horses . The horse was hooked to a Single Shaft. The horse won.

    What did "SPQR" stand for?

    • @irenebertoni
      @irenebertoni 11 місяців тому +1

      SPQR, an abbreviation for Senatus Populusque Romanus (Classical Latin: [s̠ɛˈnäːt̪ʊs̠ pɔpʊˈɫ̪ʊs̠kʷɛ roːˈmäːnʊs̠]; English: "The Roman Senate and People"; or more freely "The Senate and People of Rome"), is an emblematic abbreviated phrase referring to the government of the ancient Roman Republic.

    • @jeffinjersey9094
      @jeffinjersey9094 11 місяців тому +1

      I remember John Miritello, I bought a horse from him privately named Moon Revelier and won several races with him. Herve won with him for me at Fhld in 1-1/2 race after making a break at the start and set a track record for that distance which for all I know still stands?? I was going to claim another horse from John but decided not to as John was a NYC cop which told me not to, lol.
      Lost track of ''Old Moonie" for a few years until he surfaced one day at
      Los ALimitos in LA. where I was at with my good buddy Tony Q. Tony bought him and he bowed a tendon while qualifying and that was it. I sure do miss that good horse. RIP Moon.
      Thx Larry for your pod casts, great stuff. As stated before we did cross paths several times but it seemed that you were always embroiled in some track or Racing Commission issues. I got a few stories of my own but couldn't warm up any of yours. Some day maybe I'll post the story of my horse 'Forever Trouble" and the "Pizza Connection" boys.
      As the Rolling Stones once sang "please to meet you, hope you guess my name" Can't wait for the next one!
