THANK YOU! As a retired recording engineer, I always said the proof is on the track. Your software shows the PROOF that the people around Myles are either LYING or are being DECEIVED. I think they owe an APOLOGY on their fan page. But they won’t. Why? Because, as the novelist Upton Sinclair once said, “ it’s hard to get a man to understand something when his livelihood depends on him not understanding it.”
I don't have a dog in this fight but it seems odd to me that these two Alter Bridge "insiders" are so upset by a single channels comments that they not only make comments themselves but keep attacking the guy. There are LOTS of negative comments about almost every single post on UA-cam so why got so worked up about this one particular guy? To paraphrase Shakespeare: "The gentlemen doth protest too much, methinks?"
@@johnbriggs3916 I bet it is paraphrased (and probably paraphrased twice, at least), but the sentiment is from The Trial of Socrates. There’s no way to tell if Socrates actually uttered the words, though, because Plato is known for putting words in Socrates’ mouth. 😅 That said, we do know that Socrates was found guilty at trial for “corrupting the youth” with his ideas, and was forced to drink hemlock as punishment.
The people connected to the band who were denying the truth should send out their apology to the person they tried to shout down. It's a brutal thing for a majority to insult a single person in public/or social media for telling the truth.
The liars should apologize to every single listener, reader, commenter, and member of the band … and their moms and grandmas and Fil and you and me. For starters.
Exactly. They could have just admitted to the pitch correction or said they weren't sure and the whole thing would have gone away. Instead they dug in their heels and the result is their cringy comments being shared on a video watched by thousands of people.
One of the reason fans pay to go to see bands, especially in smaller venues, is because they truly want to HEAR their favorite artists be ARTISTS. It is the imperfections of being human that make art, in any form, so beautiful that it touches the soul.
Depends on who it is as some are not worth seeing live for that exact reason. One should always strive to get better and not just accept the status quo.
Absolutely! Hearing an artist or group live is a whole body experience. The sound of a real voice with all it’s imperfections is what makes us all unique. If it’s just some software performance, I’m not paying hundreds of $, £, € for that! 👍🍻
It's incredibly common these days - add a bit of ego stroking into the mix and most singers totally believe they sang what ended up on the release perfectly.
Turns out Adam has some very good ears, and apart from that, this Tremonti dude ows him a lot of apologies just for being so arrogant in his replies. He might disagree, but he has no reason and no right to do it in such a brutal way. If he was my manager, he would no longer have a job... Besides that, I feel really sad for all the artists who are being told that no pitch correction will be used, and as soon as they leave the production team will do it anyway. And why? Give me the REAL artist, that's where the emotion and connection with music is.Thanks Fil, for your 'crusade' against music industry gaslighting.
@@matturner6890 I'm a believer that people shouldn't make statements about something they don't fully comprehend. Like the fact that the brother was making those comments on social media, not Mark (the guitar player).

I found an interview of Myles Kennedy saying that he hated being pitch corrected. That means that he was pitch corrected in the past without his consent. It's not surprising at all.
It's entirely possible that he detests it, and is using the threat to quit if they do it (assuming that part was true) as an ultimatum to try to prevent it happening. Or maybe saying it privately in frustration at them doing it.
@@timtam79 Thanks a lot for the hint! They actually talk quite a bit about the topic starting a bit after minute 40. Very interesting and implicating that many/all productions use pitch correction but they both dislike it a lot.
A couple of days ago, I noticed several comments on the band's official UA-cam channel pointing out the pitch correction used in this performance. Now, the majority of those comments have been deleted, with just a few left hidden in the most commented threads that they probably missed. It seems like they’re still in denial... Thanks, Fil, for your important work in showing us the truth.
Yeah, why not just leave it alone and say they check the tunes and correct some obvious ones. Like Robert Plant said of the re.recorded live stuff. Then schrug shoulders. No big deal
There was a later performance of the song Turn Around Look At Me by the Vogues posted on youtube. Somebody mentioned in the comments "Are you guys really singing or lip syncing?" One of the members of the group responded and said "We are really singing, but there was some post-production involved to fix certain things in the vocals." So this guy gave the perfect, and honest, answer. That's the way a professional should address his or her audience.
Thank you for this video!! In find the band associate’s decision to use extreme ridicule and bullying to silence someone pointing something out (and it’s entirely fair to make these observations and comment on them as the person did originally) to be incredibly unprofessional and extremely immature for someone who has been involved in the music industry, production etc, for years. Sigh. Wings, you are doing a fantastic service to music as this poison (the horrible overuse of autotune) is destroying music. Argh.
You know, Fil, my first attraction to your channel was your talk of music; explaining, showing, just your thoughts and opinions and demonstrations. Fil, the next time the British government needs an ambassador, they should interview you. You’re so diplomatic and caring in your comments, you could teach a class in it. Bravo, sir!
Yeah, that's probably how they'd try to save their asses. "Yeah, of _course_ the official release is pitch-corrected. That's standard. But that was done in post..." 🤣
Thank you Fil. I can hear pitch correction and I hate it but, you can show it. What a terrible shameful state of the music industry where liars come out of the woodwork and attack the truth. Keep up the great work.
If someone uses pitch correction…own it. One of our local blues legends had me review his newest CD, where he began to over-analyze his vocals to which I disagreed with his opinion and pointed out how Bonnie Raitt was critical of her vocals..to where he said, how can she be critical of her vocals…I was hoping for that response and I said..,exactly…he looked at me and laughed and said, “I get it”. I asked him to pitch correct a certain song and wait a week before listening to both versions…as expected, when he stepped back and listened objectively, the non corrected vocal had a “feel” the corrected vocal lacked…
Exactly. Everything starts to sound mechanical. Just do it the old fashioned way and do several takes. Do some jumping jacks to get the blood flowing and try again... or whatever tricks work for you.
@@RedRavenNine That should be the standard, yes! These days when the cost of studio time is a fraction of what it was in the days when many takes was the standard, they could do as many takes they need, and without wasting expensive tape.
That's the way I feel about the spot in this analysis where the singer takes a step up in Pitch gradually, but you clearly hear the voice corrected version just hitting the marks. The so-called "corrected" version sounds good, but the original has the soul of the singer in the moment, and it is better even if some struggle was involved
Thanks for putting in this kind of work to really show the transparency of the situation. At the end of the day, there's nothing wrong with pitch correction. Just don't lie about it, especially when you claim to be in with the band. It just makes everyone look bad. Going to a show and being in a live setting is a lot more forgiving vocal-wise, as opposed to sitting in front of speakers in your car or your home. Pitch correction is the standard for ANY recording artist, so to not include it on a live recording would be terrible for any artist's image, unless they're perfect live. No one is. Even these older folks' favorite albums from the 70's and 80's were pitch corrected or re-recorded afterwards. (These are some of my favorite albums too) Its been happening for a very long time and that's okay but transparency is important.
Yes I agree.... But... there's always a but.... I have written thousands of songs and music for TV shows... Music directors for television absolutely will not use something if it is not perfect... in pitch and timing.

How he couldn't hear the obvious pitch correction makes me wonder how he's involved in music at all. Anyone that works in music can hear this without even doing an analysis.
@@robwasnj I don't mean to defend him, but young people listen to pitch correction in music all the time, and if that's what he does, maybe it sounds normal to him.
What a great video, Fil. Thank you. You're performing a valuable service by pointing out the fakery that's occurring throughout the Industry now. It rife and it stinks. In this particular case, I wonder if Myles is in the know, or is he living in blissful ignorance. Unless he has never listened to the final production, he must be aware that he's been pitch corrected.
I have made this comment before, but on one project I was working on myself and the producer agreed to not use pitch correction because neither of us thought a few flat notes made any difference to the artistic expression of the work. About a year later, I went to the studio to have it remastered and saw that the engineer, without telling anybody, had used auto tune (albeit subtly). He simply used it on everything he did and thought nothing of it. I think this happens a lot, probably always.
I think that happened to the remastered album from Celine Dion. Fil analyzed the recording of "all by myself" and compared it with the live version from the 90th and the remastered was heavily pitch corrected, so extreme, that she sounded like a robot. I think some engineer in the studio just pressed the button for automatic pitch correction and was done. I do not think, that Celine Dion herself has approved of this, she probably just agreed to the release of a "remastered" album.
Well done Fil, and I think it is a really good question, who is lying to whom? Who actually knows about what is being done with pitch correction? We would need people on the inside to really come clean on this and spill the beans. I appreciate your commitment to honesty and integrity and shedding light on this.
Fil, you've played some Prince videos on your channel, and I just heard an interview with one of his engineers, Peggy McCreary. She said that it was common for him to just do one take. He didn't need to do 20 to "get it right." He was okay with imperfections in his recordings. He would record and mix 3 or 4 songs in one session. She said when she worked with other musicians who took all day to get a guitar part down, she felt sorry for them. And, of course, Prince never used any kind of pitch correction or manipulation on his recordings. "Real music by real musicians," he used to tell his audiences. Today's musicians can't even imagine working that way.
"Today's musicians can't even imagine working that way." Thats only true in American pop music etc. where the bar is low in the first case. Go check out one of the many orchestras in the states or any jazz club and you'll hear real musicians who couldn't imagine auto-tuning anything. Don't confuse pop music packages with the goings on of real players.
I also heard he was churning out song after song but only few he actually published and his unreleased catalog is huge. I wonder how it stack up against Buckethead who is also very prodigious (but does release his stuff).
@@fictionmusicproductions This can't be said enough. Many types of musicians actually play and actually sing, and are very available via all the millions of outlets we have. There's more to music than the incredibly narrow mainstream.
@@RingRingRingItsTheBananaPhone True, but as far as I know that was just a linear pitching up of everything he say, not a pitch correction, to my knowledge. I could have seen Prince using pitch correction, but more for effect than "correcting" anything. He didn't seem to need it and it didn't seem his style.
Belittling people is always a tell for an insecure position... I believe they know...that is my opinion... as a producer I know always what has been used... and as a singer , I can always tell when my vocal is or has been manipulated... maybe im just more honed in... its disturbing tho.... great vid ! Oh and an apology is owed ... that would be stand up...
Pretty conclusive. I'm happy to see they are not using pitch correction live. I've been to many AB and MK live shows. I have a pretty good ear and have not noticed any live pitch correction. Who knows what happens when a mixer/producer gets their hands on the tracks? There is a pathologic need to "fix" everything these days. An apology is probably in order.
That's another one to chalk off my list, Myles. I don't mind it if they are open about "cleaning up" DVD releases, but to gaslight a fan is criminal. Your the man Fil 👍
Did you hear the whole Fan/Crowd recording, if not then you should. It sounds almost perfect. I don't think there was any need for pitch correction, but the production team decided to do it any way to put icing on top. Don't blame Myles, he's an incredible singer and a super humble dude. Blame the ones back stage doing the management and production.

Thank you for saying this Fil! People have no idea what a real voice sounds like anymore. I’m in the middle of recording my debut album. I recorded all last year, and released two singles with a producer who made every very shiny, and synthy and produced. I liked it. It was scary to face the facts in the studio that my voice wasn’t exactly in tune. I was 15% flat, 17% sharp here and there, and it didn’t help that the song was written in quarter tones. 😝 He told me to sing straight tone and trust in the process, I did. And like I said I liked it. I sounded so good! Exactly like Ariana, my ss’s removed, my highs angelic and dripping in reverb. Flash forward to now, I’ve been working with a new producer, and he refuses to pitch correct. He’s leaning in to the vibrato and the fry and all the things I thought I had to iron out. Listening back to the track it’s not perfect, but I BELIEVE her. And that’s my new standard for vocals, does it serve the story? Do I believe it? I’m so glad I found this new producer, and that he’s helping me embrace my voice. My old tracks are fine, but the singer sounds like any pop soprano, a whispery falsetto in a cave. My new stuff sounds human and I love it.
It’s actually better to be authentic, and slightly off key. It’s okay to be a little sharp or flat here and there. As long as you’re not living there it’s fine. When a vocal is too perfect, it sounds synthetic because it’s not human anymore.
Why do the musicians, management, and employees gaslight people that they know are correct? Just admit that they used pitch correction on the release. Who cares. Everyone is doing it. I wish they weren’t, but they are. Stop attacking people and protecting a lie. Stop attacking fans.
I think it's also possible that PC is so ubiquitous, that even the band doesn't pay attention to a detail like that. I could see a band performing in the studio, and then just leaving it up to the producer to "do his job" without taking all the details of post-production into account. Or maybe the band is even involved in the mixing stage, but not the final mastering and PC stage. Not deceit, so much as lack of interest in communicating.
In my opinion, in most cases pitch correction is just not needed. Leave the artist alone. Then don't need to be spot on. Our ears can't hear it anyway. Takes away the emotion and sends the idea of what a certain group thinks something should sound like. Pretty soon an artist won't be seen as having any talent because AI is where it's at. Thank goodness we got Fil and ppl like him. Not to mention all his adoring fans like us to help keep an I on things! Lol😂
@@trekkiejunk I mean it may be ubiquitous for the casual listener, but not for a musician. A singer would absolutely be aware if their voice had been pitch corrected, let alone the whole band that practices and plays with them full time.
Thank you for doing this Fil. I'm a local musician who plays ONLY live performances with NO tracking - no autotune - just live - and I have to compete with bands whose "musicians" pretend to play instruments and use backing tracks with harmonies and horns and everything else. Audience members either don't know or don't care that they are listening to a recording - but by doing what you do - exposing the fraud in the live music industry - slowly this knowledge is starting to filter down to the local level and people are becoming more aware of what they are paying for. Keep it up. It's working. Thank you.
FIL!!!!!! Please, please, PLEASE!!! Never stop what you are doing! Some fans may hate it and you may get second thoughts but you are providing such a valuable service! I honestly believe the artists themselves aren't guilty of this scam but rather the filthy sewer rats that lurk behind the scenes of this now disgusting industry. You are a shining beacon to that dark underworld. You have no idea how valuable you are. THANK YOU!
First of all, thank you for your analyses. I find it all very fascinating. The digital world has made the concept of perfect so accessible and so pervasive that it has distorted reality even for the artists themselves. So convinced they are that they themselves are perfect that they are willing to literally gaslight their audience. Keep up the good work!
As a Myles Kennedy fan I have to say this is really disappointing. Not that pitch correction was used but the horrible attitude and outright lies by people who are "representing" the band. Is this how fans are treated nowadays? Despicable.

as Fil presented in his video; we should really consider that a lot of these artists don't know that they are pitch corrected, that consideration would explain the behavior/attitude
The problem today is a world of internet users who have never even won a karaoke contest tearing down artists that are far more successful than they will ever be. Most can't play a note on any instrument but they seem to believe they are experts on music.
How is that "the problem today"? It seems to me that the "problem today," at least in this situation, is that someone stating a simple truth got verbally abused and mocked by someone associated with the artist. I was in a band with some minor regional success in the 90s, and if anyone in our organization ever talked to a fan this way, I would have reamed them out and apologized personally to the person who was needlessly insulted. That's the only "problem" I see here, despite your efforts to shoehorn in some irrelevant point
What’s really tragic about this is Myles is an effing brilliant vocalist. He doesn’t need pitch correction. The notes he chose to hit at the venue were the right ones. The pitch corrected ones are what the desk jockeys wanted to see. Everyone in that audience loved his vocals and the post production decided to sanitize it. If he didn’t approve it? Myles would be right to sue the clowns who changed his voice.

Oh, yeah ... thoroughly enjoyable. In the sense that Fil is a great teacher and I have learned so much from these analysis videos. (For the record, I did give it a thumbs up!) My initial takeaway from this one is that the reaction Adam received from the band insiders was wholly unsurprising. I have attempted some online discussion with people in the industry who have taken issue with having pitch correction exposed. I have found that the all-important context in which any discussion, anywhere around pitch correction takes place will dictate the reaction people have. Additionally, this analysis video kind of cements how difficult the fight will be to have pitch correction labeled as such or prevented altogether in the case of a seventies band, for example, being pitch corrected upon a 50th anniversary re-release or re-upload. We may even be talking about a fight that is essentially quixotic. But, that won't stop me from fighting back any way I can and Fil provides the needed inspiration!
I wonder why they pitch correct because, in my experience as a singer, most people can't tell what is flat or sharp. They should just leave it alone and let those with good pitch suffer in silence.
I feel exactly the same. I do not (or would not) enjoy a recorded piece of music any less when it hasn't been corrected in any way. On the contrary, the moment that my ears detect something that doesn't sound 100% natural, any pleasure is killed. The same with everything else, like botox or lip injections or liposuction, any AI-produced "art", etcetera. Faked or "enhanced" presentations will never match natural presentations (warts and all).
Yup, couldn't agree more. I never in my life thought "ew, this note sounds a few cent flat" when listening to my favorite albums, but I do think "ew, this sounds processed/distorted" when listening to some of them and that's really sad. To me it's like make-up: if it's so subtle that you don't notice it's there, then what's the point of spending all that time applying it every morning? However, if it IS noticeable, it quickly gives me the uncanny valley effect. (Though tbf, maybe that's something an exclusively gay man just can't understand...)

Maybe they can’t be checking. To be an actual traveling, touring, marketing, creating, artist, it’s likely they might not have the time or energy, and this is especially true if the producer is someone they think they can fully trust.
I would think a lead singer with the technical prowess of a lead guitarist would know all the equipment being used, including the software. If they're deceiving him at that level, they need to be fired. For the album, I lean toward using it, to give the artist freedom to go crazy. If all they are worried about is pitch in the studio - art is a casualty. I want to see what their crazy voice can do! On the road, though, clam the stupid note. I can relate to that! I realize that they are human like me, and honestly that's what I go to concerts to see.
Fil, so thankful for you and what you do. Appreciate your integrity and willingness to shed light on these things for the sake of integrity and hopefully the betterment of the music industry.
I was in a garage band in high school, and we did a few gigs in some dives around town when you could still get in a bar at 18 years old. What I remember about singing was hitting the note felt good, and after the gig we would say, 'oh yeah, that was something'. Now, we were young and awful, but the audience would respond if I screamed a bit or got breathy, or otherwise pushed a note or phrase "out of the box" of intonation. It was fun and part of the show. Maybe producers believe that there is no real connection with an audience listening to a recording, so they undo some natural part of the vocals not realizing what is lost. Regarding the band’s reps messaging, you can deduce that they don’t know “studio doings”. Which is not surprising. They don’t know or are just being supportive, one assumes. These reps should have been told STFU regarding anything to do with music production. Great job Fil.
This is my feeling as well. I've also been in professional situations where i thought i had the access to know the real story on things, but it turns out that i don't know as much as i think i do. Just because i know 90% of the secrets behind closed doors, that doesn't mean i should assume the other 10%.
@@archstanton1628 yet he was stating a fallacy. In the studio this is done on a computer, it’s not mixing at all. Also nothing to do with stems. It’s done post tracking during comping. The takes are chopped into phrases and each phrase is adjusted temporarily and usually breaths removed. Then, all the takes are examined to see if they fit with the previous phrase. Next, each take can be pitch adjusted if necessary. Finally, the top comp is chosen, with backup takes if needed for some reason. So that whole process is done on a computer, and because of the time involved, does not happen during a mix session. I’m concluding the person messaging was not privy to those comping sessions. Usually the engineer, the producer, the vocal editor, and the singer are present to choose and make the edits to be used in the master recording, with backup versions in case something is off. Hey, Fil. Remember when Queen released 'Shear Heart Attack'? On the back cover, they stated that 'no synthesisers were used on this album'. Wouldn't it be good if the new wave of brilliant indie bands put a similar statement on their albums!? 'No pitch correction was used on this album'. I would be so happy.
I think you've hit on the idea that may actually work the best. If it catches on and bands, new and old alike, take this approach of shunning the use of pitch correction and labeling their art as such and using it as a selling feature. This will probably be far more effective than advocating for the use of pitch correction to be disclosed on music products.
And what good would that do if they didn't have the integrity to live up to that statement? This band already has their spokespeople lying through their teeth.

She said when she worked with other musicians who took all day to get a guitar part down, she felt sorry for them. And, of course, Prince never used any kind of pitch correction or manipulation on his recordings. "Real music by real musicians," he used to tell his audiences. Today's musicians can't even imagine working that way.
"Today's musicians can't even imagine working that way." Thats only true in American pop music etc. where the bar is low in the first case.
Excellent analysis and conclusive evidence, well done.
Ive learned so much from you! Thank you for showing this older woman a thing or two!
Thank you.
Competition is everywhere. No one cares.
You teach me so much. I don't remember everything, but I enjoy the education each time. 👍 ROCK!🤘
FIL!!!!!! Please, please, PLEASE!!! Never stop what you are doing! Some fans may hate it and you may get second thoughts but you are providing such a valuable service! Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Not really. The blind will follow their idols aimlessly no matter what. But you are holding the music industry accountable.
Despicable.
I love Miles Kennedys voice. He’s human. No shame if he used pitch correction occasionally. I hate how he’s allowing fans to be treated over this. Just admit it!!!
@@toomuch2do470 This is the problem. Myles is taking the fall and he has nothing to do with the social media aspect of any of this. I doubt he even reads it. He barely posts anything on his own page and has said he avoids it. There has never been any bad press about Myles Kennedy in this business. I remember the day that all went down. It happened on the Alter Bridge Facebook page and that poster was slamming Kennedy as a has been. He had a Stapp love at the time and brought up the auotune on an Alter Bridge page, not a Creed page. It got ugly between fans. Now who is going to pay the price? A decent, honest guy with a beautiful voice and a great reputation who had already said elsewhere that autotune had been used and he wasn't happy. This Creed reunion hasn't been good for AB fans who are only AB fans watching Stapp get hailed as the new messiah once again. Glad the guy has his life together but it's coming at the expense of Kennedy and Alter Bridge. JMO
as Fil presented in his video; we should really consider that a lot of these artists don't know that they are pitch corrected, that consideration would explain the behavior/attitude
Oh come on, this band is 20 years old, if they're pitch corrected now they are being pitch corrected since a long time
@@mipmipmipmipmip-v5x No doubt. I still would rather hear Myles hit the notes a little flat now and then. It’s more real. Pitch correction should be disclosed, in my opinion.
You missed 'pencil necked' on the desk jockeys

This is one of the best episodes I've seen from you. Coming from a piano tuner for over 50yrs..your knowledge and understanding of pitch is excellent. Singers and musicians used to have a lot of character. Now, everything is corrected. Singers and musicians are essentially becoming appliances.
I used to love to brag about the fact that my favourite singer's instrument was his voice. I never saw him on stage with an instrument but his voice was brilliant. But, now, pitch cor ...er pitch changing a singer's voice actually means that their voices have been turned (tuned!) into pianos! So, now I have to change the way I boast about my favourite singer.
Not "everything". I'm a fan of a couple of metal bands with Dutch lead singers and they are NOT pitch corrected. They are very, very good but you can hear the occasional human element. And it varies. Phil has analyzed one of them (Floor Jansen). And he really should analyze the other (Simone Simmons). (Hint, hint)
@@ericbraun4652 Maybe not EVERYONE and EVERYTHING ... not YET. But, that is indeed the sad trend we are on and it will continue until there are no real, unedited by pitch-CHANGE or autotune great natural voices left for us to enjoy anymore - unless we real music lovers start fighting back now!
@@elizabethmiller7291 The problem is that not all musicians are in a position where they are allowed to make demands. They ha e to sign a contract. They make money by signing the contract but loses much of their say in marketing, mixing etc. And that pitch correction is one of the sad things that the produces enforces on newer releases - including re-releases of Queen and other famous artists.
@@perwestermark8920 Yes, that is indeed one of the problems. The question is what are we real music lovers and artists with integrity prepared to do about it. Are we ready for a revolution!? Or do we just accept this - particularly with regard to our favourite artists from decades ago, like Queen - as a fact of life and resign ourselves to a future where we and future generations are no longer allowed to have the pleasure of hearing the artistic expression and emotional storytelling of a great singer's natural voice?
My son and I watch most of your videos, he is 11. We love them and what you do is amazing. My son now hears pitch correction and auto tune almost instantly in the music he listens to. Personally these computer enhanced songs have lost the human element in singing I looked forward to hearing. Thank you for what you do, hopefully it will encourage singers to use their own voice and embrace the individuality of their natural voice! Keep it up!
Play him Beatles, Queen, David Bowie, he'll know what high quality is.
When there is objective proof, "belief" should not be needed.
Thank you for clearly illustrating the truth , Fil. I choose to believe that nobody in the band knew this was happening to their music, but they do now.
Every singer and almost every musician I know can hear pitch correction and autotune ... and tell the difference between the two. I find it hard to believe the band wouldn't know the release was pitch corrected unless they never listened to it...even on a streaming service. My ears aren't nearly so sensitive...I'm always more something is off with this..and mymusician friend laughs and says...yeah..it's pitch corrected and has no soul.
Seeing you present the evidence to call out people's BS is so gratifying. In a world where everything is becoming more and more fake, you are a beacon of truth.
Truth is being censored; to lie and cheat is the new normal. Thanks for your voice man.
I'm glad your channel is getting attention. You're doing necessary work I feel.
Because they're getting us used to hearing voices that don't sound like actual human beings.
You mean perfect pitch. Good would be a different thing.
Not only is Tremonti either lying or doesn't know what's really going on, but he doesn't even realize how easy it is for a professional to prove or disprove this in a dispassionate and technically definitive way.
If someone has forwarded this to him, he does now...
I really want to believe that he is unaware of what someone may have done to the audio.
@@grumpyotter Good grief that's a horrifying thought: To think that a professional recording artist would be that out of touch with their work, worse yet, unaware of the user experience for the fans.

Myles Kennedy does NOT need pitch correction. I've seen him perform live and he was incredible. As I've said before, I think producers and technicians use pitch correction just because they can.
If he didn't need pitch correction, they wouldn't have used it; it's a tool to make shite singers sound good.
they can use pitch correction on live performance now so its actually done as the singer sings. when bands and artists are doing gig after gig on a tour no ones voice can be great every night so a little help comes in useful. i wont eat right before a gig as anything you eat may alter your voice to some extent. alcohol is a no no. i drink room temp water on stage.

I feel sorry for the artist who has this done behind their backs and have no idea. Now mind you, if they aren’t checking these days…🤷♂️
Maybe they can’t be checking. To be an actual traveling, touring, marketing, creating, artist, it’s likely they might not have the time or energy, and this is especially true if the producer is someone they think they can fully trust.
@nomoresaul Even so, I'd think that artists would know their work has been manipulated upon hearing the finished product.

You're welcome.
Wish my ear was as sharp as yours, no pun intended! lol
Which is more important...pitch, or authenticity?
Yes. When it's raw, it's so powerful. Now music is boring.
I’m honestly learning so much stuff from you. It’s such an awesome channel!

@@melvynobrien6193 You are deluded. I've seen you comment multiple times on this video but whether you like it or not, he is one of the best rock singers of the last 20 years.
It happens with all sensitive situations. I asked about the source of the idea of Ultravox 'Vienna' as I knew of a first hand story of miss hearing a phrase.. Midge Ure says I have this song, it goes, "this means nothing to me ..." a guy suggests 'Rein de' (meaning nothing), drunk Midge Ure thinks he hears Vienna (which doesnt make sense) and runs with it. They dont like that story, so even asking about that story it got deleted and I was banned!
Fil, You are a musical treasure and I consider it, a real privilege to be able to watch your channel. In a world where truth has become such a casualty, you and musicians like Rick Beato are like a breath of fresh air and should be loudly applauded. From Australia, thank you and best wishes.
That doesn't go with what the guy said though, he claimed to have been at the desk while the mixing was being done. Presumably he heard the stems.
I believe the person texting was innocent, but no one corrected him/her.
@@Legslarsen. But the person texting couldn't hear it with their own ears? I "get" that they may have been told otherwise but all you gotta do is listen and it's so obvious.
LOL Obviously, by this example, they would just lie.

It's SO annoying when someone puts a bunch of laughing Emojis in a comment, instead of making an actual argument
When people try that with myself, I like to respond that a laughing emoji is a poor substitute for a critical thought. Exposing the hollowness of an argument with clarity and reason are needed like a knife in a balloon factory, as we live in a world where superficiality is used to sway the casual majority. I fear that without the tools of disciplined thought and language mastery, generations will fall prey to emotional oppression by the mediocre.
In fairness we're not seeing what he is responding to. My guess is the debate had gotten poisonous by that stage. Nonetheless as someone who is representing the band, even in a casual capacity, it's a poor image to project.
