Thanks so much I am a lady and of course I have to fix my own truck and I use UA-cam a lot but this worked thank you so much now I can get people in and out of my third door this is great please keep up the great work and everyone post things about this cuz some people really don't know how to do it or what's wrong major up more things than what they need to tear up thank you so much God bless
I suspect you got temporarily lucky with readjusting that cable. Frequently, the problem is the. plastic part that holds the cable in place has deteriorated. In your case, I'll bet just a part of it broke, but the rest, along with the. other three (there is one at each end of each cable) will fail soon and completely. The permanent fix is to buy a kit with four of those ferrels (the top is different from the other three) and replace all four with the new metal parts. I tried readjusting mine and the part failed. After I replaced that one, the other three failed almost immediately.
Don't do that. The top cable looks just like the bottom, it's just a little up and to the front of the bottom cable, but connects behind the assembly, rather than toward you. The top latch is held in place by three T27 bolts@@JamesBrown-ei8wc
Best instructional yet. Straigt forward, no bullshit, & your done. Thanks for the post.

Thanks man! This worked!
No problem! Happy to help!
Will this work if the top won’t open but the bottom will?
I think so. Obviously you’d be adjusting a different cable though. I think both top and bottom ran off cables.

No matter what or how hard i pull that cable the door doesnt open. Any suggestions?
You figure it out? 👀
What cable goes to the top. Mine is stuck at the top.
Trace the wires and see which one goes up.
@@DirtRoadAutoRepair I couldn't see one . Looks like I'm going to have to grind thru the inside of the frame of the door at the top.
