There might be a connection between the early Daedric Chimer civilization and the tribal Argonians, since they both lived in Southern Morrowind where there is swamp areas like black marsh.
The Argonians used obsidian in the old weapons. With Red Mountain being the only volcano they would have access to it seems that the Argonians had presence all the way through Morrowind before the Chimer were even there. Which is why they have also connection with the dwemer (their shields and maces have a design similar to that of dwemer architecture). I knew I loved the Argonians for a reason! Who knew the Daedra were a playable race after all? Also new theory; the Hist roots are slowly covering all of Tamriel and are one day gonna change all of Tamriel into swamp for the Argonians to rule for them.
This lore should be used to make a Skyrim mod giving similar effects to Argonians when consuming Sleeping Tree Sap. Enai Saion's Wintersun Faiths of Skyrim Mod identifies the Sleeping Tree as a Hist tree.

I love how you always come up with theories that make much more sense (or are at least much more original) as the confirmed lore. Please keep up the good work (all three of you)!
I love how TES lore is in depth to the point where the tes universe’s origin story isn’t just unknown but is contested between multiple myths based on race, religion, and culture. I have myself convinced either this one or the nirn being a daedric realm one are the truth theu make the most sense
If Argonians are Daedric, then perhaps that would explain why the Dunmer go: "Hippity hoppity, Argonians are property." After all binding Daedric creations are something commonly done.
Nah, they’re just really racist (or at least used to be). The Dunmer think anything that isn’t an elf is just a talking animal, subhuman for lack of a better term. Other elves are below them too, but they’re at least considered people. Beast races get it the worst. Orcs of course are dumped in with the beast races, because they love to pretend Orcs aren’t elves even though the Dunmer LITERALLY came from the same conflict that created Orcs. Source: Morrowind dialogue on the Dunmer’s view of necromancy. I think from the Orc necromancer in the Balmora Mages Guild. To them, playing with animal souls isn’t necromancy, which includes all the other races because ThEy’Re NoT pEoPlE.
What if the hist trees are just an extension of Lorkhan, meaning that the Argonians are just daedric beings made by Sithis, which is why they can be so powerful.
Argonians also have powerful nightblades and spellswords, nords, orsimers and redguards only have martial talents, so a magic combat hybrid build is out of the question.

I love this idea of a Bethesda writer staff meeting where they get together, hammer out some of this complicated, multifaceted, shape shifting lore that can be taken in so many ways, all the while knowing that some random UA-cam channel will painstakingly break down every detail and completely unravel the mystery of the Elder Scrolls
Its explained in books in Daggerfall that the Atlmer when they controlled the continent created creatures that share humanoid and beastly characteristics, that's why we have centaurs, minotaurs, and the like. That would also explain Khajiit and Argonians.
@@lordslashingtonsmoments6125 The moons is something else imo but I could see the altmer creating argonians (so long ago its mostly forgotten) and then the argonians eventually finding the Hist. @@papadoug4681 Well the Atlmer did create goblins, and have been said in Morrowind to have been responsible for the creation of the Dreugh. My new Oblivion character is a Hand-to-hand Argonian fighter named Throws-Many-Punches. While he was still in the Imperial prison he received a vision of the upcoming Oblivion crisis but he was still locked up. The vision, which was, of course, sent to all Argonians by the Hist, showed him that the majority of his marsh-brothers and marsh-sisters were returning to the homeland and becoming empowered by the sap in order to prepare for the Daedric invasion. By the time Throws-Many-Punches got out of jail, he figured he might as well stay in Cyrodiil, train with the Fighters Guild and protect the locals who had no idea what was about to befall them since he was shown that Black Marsh would emerge victorious anyway.
The comment on how the swamp changes made me imagine a TES game with random generation, randomizing the Black Marsh or areas of the black marsh per playthrough, or per load. This tool would also be able to give us endless Daedric realms or otherwise dungeons we could explore. How interesting could it be for a full RNG RPG, that continuously generates worlds as you travel as you wish, minecraft style (Not graphics, the near endless terrain generation). Obviously far more advanced than a game that came out what 15 years ago? Not a TES game unless there were some story reason for the world collapsing and reality being unmade or something and the player is like an anchor re-binding reality giving it new form and shape. A good complicated generator that doesn't just handle terrain and dynamic cities and buildings (As well as a host of pre-made assets to just place like story locations or important cities (The outskirts of which could still be generated for more expansive cities), but also generate NPCs, factions, reputation systems (Generated faction x hates generated faction y, and is allied with generated faction z, and the generator determines Conflict Points by mapping the terrain between the two factions and plotting paths of travel, and placing forts and checkpoints, and patrols). No voiced NPCs, only generic sounds, all text. Text that can be generated in addition to premade "Personalities" for important characters, and premade NPCs in general that have a ton more detail such as a collection of premade story characters, romance options, and companions, while there would also still be possible generated companions. A system for the generation of armor, clothes, and weapons would also be incredible, when generating a faction or region it'd generate a Style for that faction and base object designs around that style, pulling from a suite of assets for Materials, textures, and and shapes. And of course, you could make your own clothes or armor by pulling from the same assets in a crafting menu via Tailoring and Blacksmithing skills. If the terrain can be generated, it should be possible to likewise allow deformation, destruction, and creation. Mining, tunneling, sieging buildings. Burn down a town, a dragon attack melting stone walls and leaving ash-shadows of people that were too close. Permanent scars of conflict, player and NPC made. But also a system for fixing these things. NPCs will passively do repairs on their own except when some threshhold is met for being too damaged, and a threshhold shared by the town at large if enough structures and people were destroyed or killed, then the village, town, or city would be abandoned into a ghost town and you could find the survivors as refuges traveling elsewhere and slowly adapting to a new location, and you might even recognize an NPC from a ruined village as a body on the road or in a dungeon as they were picked off by bandits or monsters or betrayed, ect. I feel like this should be entirely possible. Skyrim is almost a decade old. As is Minecraft, though pretty sure it was out for years before that release date google gives.
Damn, I’ll never be able to unsee this theory. I really do have to admit, it’s an *extremely* compelling case. Just as extreme as the marshes and swamps deep in the heart of Argonia 😉🦎👾
Hardly, you have that backwards. The Hist were here long before anything else, so the "alien" are the races not native to Tamriel... including Nords, who are a threat themselves.
Yeah, I've been saying for a while that the Argonians are gonna be making big moves soon. They've been isolated and nearly non consequential for way too long in the lore. Can you imagine how terrifying they would be on a next gen console with realistic graphics? I would shit myself if I just saw a squad of them rising out of the water in front of me lol
Marcus McClain -- They're only a threat in response, so long as you leave them alone, they won't have any dreams or desires of conquest. Every time they've attacked, it has been in response to something that threatened them.
This is probably a shot for the moon, but i would love to see an ES game where if you start as an Argonian and pick the Shadown sign as your birth sign, you start in the Dark Brotherhood or have a unique starting point that leads you to it.
Just wanted some input from the experts, I’m replaying Skyrim SE with the Alternate Start mod, and I’m playing as a High Elf Thalmor, and I want to role play in the direction that she has just recently joined the Thalmor and got transferred to Skyrim, but then she slowly starts to realize how fucked up the Empire and the Thalmor are and I would like her to experience some in game experiences of this so she’ll change and eventually take up arms with the Stormcloaks. Blackmarsh is just the southern coast of Louisiana. Dont say im wrong, you know im right. I wouldnt be surprised to see a lizard man walking around in New Orleans.
Just a small nitpick: argonians don’t serve Sithis by going only to the DB, as even Veezara at the sanctuary states he was bred to serve an argonian order of assassins that died out, then and only then he went to the brotherhood.
In my head canon the Hist most likely figured out how to stay on Nirn while maintaining their omnipotence and omniscience by destroying their sense of self and becoming identical unidentifiable trees that rely on other creatures to exert their will. essentially Chim in reverse.
You are a master content creator and this was a wonderful and exciting video. Perhaps Arogonians defy definition. Neither Daedra nor “organically” Tamrielic. Perhaps they’re some kind of hybrid or evolutionary step? All I know is I love them and they look soooo good in Dragonscale armor!
I didn't need anymore reasons to click on this video other than the fact that it's about Argonians. They are my favorite race to play as in The Elder Scrolls Series since I first played Morrowind as a kid. I especially loved playing as them in Oblivion, usually emphasizing the hand-to-hand, athletics, and acrobatics skills.
Far into the future I see an elder scrolls game not probably buy the same moniker anymore but an elder scrolls game nonetheless and in this game it finally stretches on kirkbride's theories and we come back to Nirn after we left it for some time and it looks old and different and decrepit could be like some star fields type stuff you know kind of like how SG 1 and Stargate finds out they're actually alterans instead of humans
If the Duskfall never happened and their stone masks didn't crumble, those Argonians would proceed to become the ultimate lifeform by tapping into the power of a red stone. They would become invincible! Immortal! Unkillable! Unmatched!
I like the implication the two part novel made, where there's like an issue of communication between hist and argonian. Like if they were 100% egg made by the hist it would be like a 1/1 mind link to the evermind
I’ve recently realized that Khajiit and Bosmer are likely variations of Argonians. Khajiit love Moon Sugar which I believe may be Hist Sap altered by Azura that when consumed maintains the Khajiit connections to the lunar cycles. Bosmer, or Wood Elves / Tree Sap Elves, are likely the Sappy offspring of the Bosmer deity who’s name I can’t spell but I know has been depicted as a massive tree. I believe the Wild Hunt is based around consuming Hist Sap which has been seen to cause alterations in Argonians. Given what the Wild Hunt does to Bosmer, it makes sense that their parent deity would prohibit the consumption of plants in the hopes of avoiding sap eating.
you also missed the fact that the argonians believe that their souls are given to them by the hist which would suggest the Argonian body is just a vestige of its own as well. When they die their souls return to the Hist to be born again
Imagine marching your army into the swamp, camp for the night, only to wake up surrounded by a mountain range made out of roots, with your only escape being the way you came in.
I do believe I posted either this theory or a theory VERY similar to it on another one of your videos. :D I stated that Argonians are just the species of Nirn Daedra that have come closest to realizing exactly what they are.
@@milkgxng To be fair, the US is no better on that whole "used to be a prison/dump pile for outcasts" thing. Not saying you're from the US, just stating historical facts.
Argonian creation mythology seems like the true origins of the Et'Ada and the Realms. Of all accounts it describes two opposing beings entering the void of Oblivion to find a newly formed Nirn. This sounds very much like the two most powerful survivors of the last Kalpa passing into the next andcbeing venerated as gods. The shattering of the original Nirn explains the many planes of Oblivion and why they bear similarities to Nirn itself. This may become the events of the next TES game where you, the hero, fail to prevent the end of the current Kalpa but manage to stop the villian from destroying the newly formed Nirn.
It seems es6 will be set somewhere other than Argonia/Black Marsh, and that is a terrible misstep indeed. A missed opportunity of the worst sort. Imagine this as a teaser trailer: Starts with a shot of the night sky with a certain constellation. Panning down to a tree top and all the way down it’s trunk to a clutch of eggs. Screen fades to show a black hand, inside the title appears… The Elder Scolls VI Shadowscale
The lore just doesn’t back this theory. The idea about The Hist being Daedric I can get behind, but not the Argonians. Chaotic Creatia in the form of Amber Plasm may have been responsible for uplifting the Helstrom Ancestor Lizard to be the Argonians, but that lizard already had a soul no different than any other creature or mortal. The Hist did not create the Argonians, they only changed them like Azura did with the Chimer/Dunmer and Khajiit. Part of that change must have been increasing the size of the soul in some way. Not worshipping the Aedra/Daedra only makes sense, they are not descended from them. They are just mere creations, and their fear or reverence towards Sithis could be attributed to the Amber Plasm. The Argonians probably know on an instinctual level that they owe their existence to Sithis, while knowing that their existence may be wrong on Nirn.
As Mehrunes Dagon learned the hard way.

So are the altmer the guys behind the moons with khajiit and the hist trees with argonians?
@@lordslashingtonsmoments6125 The moons is something else imo but I could see the altmer creating argonians (so long ago its mostly forgotten) and then the argonians eventually finding the Hist. @@papadoug4681 Well the Atlmer did create goblins, and have been said in Morrowind to have been responsible for the creation of the Dreugh. @@mrfivegold I'm sure just about all the cool stuff from the first 2 games that contradict the current lore (or vice versa) can be waved away as being retconned. But that gets boring honestly. Pretty cool fact about the goblins and Dreugh though. Didn't know that myself.

I for one welcome our argonian overlords of tamriel with the hist at their side
Love the video. For years I played nothing but highelves. Last year switched to bretons. After this video I am switching to argonian.
So, like Daggerfall, but with more stuff?
This video was well made. Keep up the greate work!

I don't think anyone in-universe realizes just what kind of threat the HIST are to Nirn as we know it. Talos guard us from these alien bonzai.
To be honest they only seem to lash out when they are wronged. Maybe Nirn just needs to learn to leave well enough alone.
Hardly, you have that backwards. The Hist were here long before anything else, so the "alien" are the races not native to Tamriel... including Nords, who are a threat themselves.

They're certainly involved with Oblivion, at least, we kinda see that in the infernal city/lord of souls books

Sounds like a slogan taken straight from a Tamriel's War on Drugs ad.
I see that Wintersun Faiths of Skyrim mod. Good taste.
It seems es6 will be set somewhere other than Argonia/Black Marsh, and that is a terrible misstep indeed. A missed opportunity of the worst sort.
Imagine this as a teaser trailer:
Starts with a shot of the night sky with a certain constellation. Panning down to a tree top and all the way down it’s trunk to a clutch of eggs. Screen fades to show a black hand, inside the title appears… The Elder Scolls VI Shadowscale
For the first couple of seconds I though I was watching a David Starkey documentary
The Hist remind me a lot of Eywa, especially after watching this video.
Great Video Fudge
