👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽 I love using SlickPour with Conversion, but sometimes struggle to keep them from getting too bulky with too many layers - depending on the color. I will definitely try this tip. Thanks!
Every time I have tried this either the “powder coat” layer peels or the full coverage layer peels away from the powder coat layer. I make sure to use nice thin coverage of Conversion Base. What could I be doing wrong? I try to do it exactly like this video.
I really wanted this powder coat method to work to avoid the bulk. Unfortunately it did not, when I went in to wipe before finish filing, the all the powder wiped off completely down to the initial base coat. I watched the video a few times and couldn’t figure out what I missed. Does this method not work with certain colors? I tried this with Epic Black. 😕
Thanks YN team I was srsly thinking to myself I need to kno more about slick pour last night. Can we do a hard gel Easter set next with maybe some art too? That’s a tall order but I’m working on gel rn and need all the help lol 💝
Yasss Queen, I was watching a bunch of the old vids of all the ways to use slickpour, and want to order some colors now...Are you still taking/shipping out orders by any chance?
Stain resistant is a hard gel top coat so we don't recommend using it on gel polish on the natural nails as our nails are flexible so it can cause the top coat to get micro cracks in it. The same is possible with slickpour with conversion as it is a thinner end result than using slickpour with resin.
Just to clarify, after applying the initial coat of base you applied the powder like you would a glitter press into the tacky layer, then cured again, then applied the 2nd layer of base?
We can use the ManiQ base under the SlickPour also, right? Traci had done a video a few months ago featuring 3 diff SlickPour applications and I believe she used the ManiQ instead of Caption Conversion, with all the same steps, then doing protein bond then ManiQ top. Just making sure both methods work..Thx!
Does it need to be conversion base and top? Can other yn top gel polishes be used? Like stain resistant? Does it need to have a tacky layer to be used?
I have an activator sitting on my shelf do you think that would work instead of the protein bond on top of the color ? also have you had problems with chipping crumbling issues? how long do these last?
Thank you for continuing with great content whilst us nail techs are currently unemployed 😫hang tough ya'll💕
Stay safe out there
Thx for sharing! I like the pouring method better than dipping, plus it's more sanitary!
I totally agree!
Thank you 🙏🏽 so much for your videos. I think a lot girls struggled with dark colors like me 😁 but not anymore
I Love working with slick pour better this way than with all the other steps in the kit. Faster and better control of application!!
All preference

Can I use stain resistant top coat on my lighter slick pour colors to prevent discoloring ? Using conversion base?
Stain resistant is a hard gel top coat so we don't recommend using it on gel polish on the natural nails as our nails are flexible so it can cause the top coat to get micro cracks in it. The same is possible with slickpour with conversion as it is a thinner end result than using slickpour with resin.
Should I use protein bond before top coat with regular colors? Ir is that just for the dark ones?
I have the Slickpour kit, do you not use all the bottles in it anymore?
Just to clarify, after applying the initial coat of base you applied the powder like you would a glitter press into the tacky layer, then cured again, then applied the 2nd layer of base?
That's right!
Do u know if i can use gloss top instead of conversion top

Yes, conversion absorbs differently than maniQ so if you are going for structure conversion is best, for design maniQ works
YoungNailsInc Ok, thank you so much!
May try this today. Can I use regular acrylic for this method?
Slickpour is finer so it absorbs differently
Do you think this would be the best way to apply not only ark colors but others as well?
Not as necessary but couldn't hurt. For some light colors it may take too much product to get a full coverage
Does it need to be conversion base and top? Can other yn top gel polishes be used? Like stain resistant? Does it need to have a tacky layer to be used?
Needs to be conversion
I have an activator sitting on my shelf do you think that would work instead of the protein bond on top of the color ? also have you had problems with chipping crumbling issues? how long do these last?
Not in that situation. Activator should be used with the traditional 1-4 steps
Can I use the hard gel base for slickpour ? I don’t have the conversion base and top
It doesn't absorb the same
This is basically SNS but instead with LED gel.
Kinda
💯 better and a quality product 😉
Should we apply protein before conversion top coat only with dark colors?
We always do to prevent chipping
YoungNailsInc thank you! I have definitely learned several great tips from this video!
Very Nice #teamyn
❤️❤️
Can this work with monomer?
Avila Slickpour can be used with monomer. They have a video in the Nail School playlist: ua-cam.com/video/H4WEXG_R04M/v-deo.html
yep
How much to charge for this service??
Usually about $10 more than your gel polish price
@@youngnailsinc thank you!
Did she just flip us off 😂😂😂🖕🏼 I love this tutorial though thanks
