Standard of the World. I m impressed. I m a big cadillac fan. I ve owned an 88 Brougham and '12 CTS.
An engineer and a car guy. Gives us a unique vision into the future of cars. One which I personally enjoy. I also learn a lot of trend setting ideas. The wave of the future is at our doorstep. Congratulations GM, Leriq, Spring Hill TN. My current vehicle a 22 GMC Acadia AT4-AWD was assembled there. My next vehicle will be this Caddy. For me it has to be AWD!
I like this guy as much as I like jay. Authentic
"I don't like a Truck that drives like a Ferrari, I try to have a Truck and a Ferrari".
Only Jay Leno can say such a thing without sounding arrogant.
Love this guy.
The back hatch of this Cadillac EV reminds me of a mid-80s Renault Fuego. 😄
I have never wanted a Cadillac, my first car was a 71 Mustang. My grandmother had a huge turquoise one. This one is beautiful and over the top, The commercials, I stop and watch them. A lovely fantasy !!!
We got ours last week and the wife loves it. So far, so good.
I am not a Cadillac guy but if I were this would be the Cadillac for me. This looks like a great cross country car. The Tesla is ok for many people but I would sure pick this Cadillac over any Tesla. This may help to save Cadillac. Make it reliable and many people will buy it.
Make it reliable and I WILL buy it.
Given the choice, i'd also go this way. Tesla's are just not good looking cars.
@@robertf6344 😂
@@robertf6344 The front end on teslas look like a rotten toenail.
EV's are great for many things, but cross country driving is not something I would recommend doing in one of these things.
BTW, I think this beats Tesla in value of luxury and design with performance for the money. Way to go, GM.
Looks great & low maintenance, impressive!
What an awesome segment! Cadillac should be very happy; Jay did an exceptional job.
Hopefully it’s the car Cadillac needs. Impressed with the car and the guy.
I love GM and have always admired Cadillac. I think this is amost exactly what an electric car should be: performance, safety, comfortable, sleek yet subtle styling, and not to mention Cadillac luxury.
I like this guy. Feels like a no-nonsense guy. Great choice for the show.
To the Cadillac people reading this (we know you are). I never thought in a hundred years that I would look or even buy one. This model changed the game for me. That price point (60k) is spot-on (if the dealerships don't mark it-up to 100K).
For a guy like me who buys new and sale 1 year before the warranty is over,, this car now makes sense to purchase.
Good job on this.
too EXPENSIVE for what you get , SHORT RANGE and no PERFORMANCE.
you are better off with the Standard MODEL S.
I wish they still made the RWD Short range model S 60 , that was a Great car.
@@markplott4820 #1 What car electric or not can you get for 60K that comes close to this Caddy's levels.
#2 I drive 40 miles a day. What do I care if the range is "Only" 380 miles? Most people drive less than 200 miles a week.
#3 I have a track car. Who buys a Caddy to break the Nürburgring's record?
#4 At that price point, when I resale the car after 3-4 years, the pool of buyer is higher as it's not a 60K secondhand car like the Plad will be.
#5 An Audi A6 base model comes in at 90K with 187HP.
#6 I don't like Teslas as they are not very comfortable and the interiors look like a modern "K" car. I respect the company for what they did and what they are doing but, it's not for me. Cadillac got this one spot on.
You are not me and you don't know what my needs are ;) 😀
@@iix23 - in 3 - 4 LYRIQ will be Depreciated more than a 2022 model Y.
Tesla uses the LEAST electric to go places and you can DC FAST charge better and have a TRUE National network.
Tesla model S is even OUTSELLING FUD Mex-e , Ioniq 5, EV6, AUDI eTron (TURD), Taycan, EQS, Polestar 2, XC-40.
Unfornatually LYRIQ is built too much like a GAS car . Cadillac , is just NOT Premium enough anymore , even the CHINESE & JAPANESE dont buy Cadillac anymore.
@@markplott4820 To each his own. The last thing I think about when buying a new car every 3-4 years, is listening to people.
The point I made was that before this video, I would have never considered a Caddy. Now I will probably go to a dealer that has one in the showroom for a test drive and form an opinion of my own.
I miss the days when Jay would end an episode with “but can it do a burnout?”
This is the most exciting Cadillac to come out in YEARS.
humble guy, it gives Cadillac a good image.
I chuckled every time Jay called the “black wing” the “bat wing” because I’m a mental child. 😂
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that heard that...
But even at $60k starting price it out of the range for most people.
@@OldsmobileCutlass1969Va $60k isn’t that bad when you consider that it is a Cadillac. They’re supposed to be high end luxury vehicles.
What a great interview! The Lyriq looks amazing, can't wait to get my Debut Edition in the next 1-2 months!
The one thing never mentioned is - that front end. OMG!
My next new Cadillac for sure. Thank you Jay Leno.
This SUV is beautiful! The interior is as beautiful as the exterior
That caddy is sweet. If Tesla’s QC and build quality was on par with this, they’d be untouchable.
they are still untouchable lol
Teslas are ugly
@@krao6605 I’m talking about tesla not about yourself
@@fluxcapacitor3000 i feel for you. You must have an ugly taste to like the loos of Teslas.
QC and build quality means everything. In these areas Tesla's are utter garbage.
I can't hardly wait to see one in person out in the real world.
Hats off to Cadillac - finally designed new vehicle that looks good. home run for caddy ! 😎👍✌️
It is great to see a E-Cadillac that will be a great success in the marketplace. Having an engineer demo a car is much better than some Marketing hack.
I like this. Elevating the brand!! Inspiration begets dedication. I’m seriously watching and have to decide whether to buy a starter EV or jump all the way in. Lyriq is impressive to me. The company/brand is coming to life again!
I started with a Kia ev6 for the same reason now I’m all in with a 2023 cadillac lyriq me personally I don’t mind the original door handles the ev6 I had presented the handles but I felt like I or my passengers would break them
Absolutely the nicest looking EV I’ve seen. Drop an LS in it and I’m in.
You want a *slower* car? The dual-motor Caddy will definitely be faster than any LS you could throw into this car. Why? Instant torque and AWD.
When Jay Leno says "I enjoy using a paddle" this should not be taken out of context.
I was shocked, always saw him as a bottom!
@@BrianBoniMakes he likes to get the paddle
Nice looking car. I would certainly consider this but, it's already sold out on the Cadillac website. Only option is to pre-order a 2024 but, no specifics listed yet.
The Florida pool pump motor repair guy, approved ! that was good info, thanks Jay
I've had 2 Chevy Bolts that were fantastic. Saw the Lyriq and fell in love. This is a grand slam home run for Cadillac. With Tesla charger availability coming soon, it's a winner!
I love the Tesla, but with no dealerships anywhere near me, or real support from the other EVs, but WOW--this Cadillac is an amazing bargain compared to Tesla and the others and a Cadillac dealership is right by my house!!
I would still like to have a rear window wiper for pulling out of a parking spot when it's raining, has recently rained, when there is morning dew or in stop and go traffic.
rear camera and bird's eye view.
You can have display rear view mirror and rear view camera in Lyriq. Camera view is so much better to use for parking.
That's a great car.. And an honest engineer too..
That's what will keep America up front in the EV market
Cadillac has a winner here! Especially the price compared to the competition for what you get!
Stunningly Beautiful Cadillac! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
