Thank you for this discussion of foundational questions regarding Lebanon and the region actually, which we in the West have been (kept) so ignorant about.
Regarding the question Jews vs. Zionists, however, what you are describing about Jews who are complacent about Zionist stands and actions has nothing to do with their being Jewish! This is just a globally occurring passivity that knows neither religious, cultural nor geopolitical boundaries. Along the lines of one's silence actually being a voice for the committers of atrocities.

Sure, but it was directed at the comment which said that Judaism is not the issue but Zionism. Zionism is built on Judaism so it’s a bit like saying Wahhabism has nothing to do with Islam.

@@StephenHeiner but is it, really? I am not a religious scholar, so I defer to one (of many) that is and is quite passionate about the differentiation between the jewish religion and the political zionist movement twisting and usurping single elements of jewish lore: ua-cam.com/video/gIX368TtOJs/v-deo.html

thanks for pointing that out, I was just wondering about how, growing up in Brasil, people I knew there would say they were sirio-lebanese

If my memory is correct, there was never a country named Palestine. It was a roman named territory .

The British Mandate of Palestine. Golda Meir referred to her own identity card as being from Palestine. It’s not your memory that is defective it’s your lack of studying history. And there was never a nation state named Israel either. You don’t “get” a country just because the name has been around a long time. Nation states are new in general and I talked about this on the stream and in other videos.
