- Shooting is the most important skill in basketball. What's almost as important is getting OPEN to shoot those shots. I dissect how Steph does it in this video.

he just on a whole other level and thanks coach
Keep running 🏃🏻♂️
Curry has Android-like stamina. He’s ALWAYS running around making plays off the ball
apparently during timeouts he can voluntarily lower his heart rate.
Facts 😂
I read somewhere that he runs about 2,5 miles a game. That's double the amount of a wide receiver's. It's crazy
Its also that lighting quick release, gives the defense no time to recover
@Imafraid Jumitebeeinnagang tell me more about these breathing exercises. Any links? I've been doing these lately to calm my CNS
His footwork while moving in any direction while he's gathering the ball before a shot is what's most impressive.
Absolutely. People love to talk about his movement but don’t talk enough about his ability to shoot off different platforms, with different momentum, in tiny windows.
His ability to get the shot up in such tiny windows *is* why he’s the greatest shooter.
💯

I think what’s underrated here is that he is playing with teammates who know his off-ball habits and how he gets open so they know how to be alert to make the right plays, screens, etc to have him take the shot he’s looking for.
Moving without the ball successfully relies a lot of similar concepts to taking a guy off the dribble. Use subtle contact with your arms, use change of speeds and change of directions.
Moving with out the ball steph makes the basics look like art
🙏🏽exactly what i’m looking for
He gets open off of setting his own screens off ball as well
I could watch great players move without the ball all day. 🧐👀 One of my favorite parts of the game.
This was a very great video that helped me to understand off-ball movement a ton
Could you make a video on Curry's footwork while dribbling, finishing, and shooting. The footwork is just so clean but relaxed, especially when he's gathering the ball before the shot. His movements are so focused and controlled yet seem so relaxed.
Video request: Ja Morant Moves please tryna play like him💪🏾.
This kind of movement opens alot of driving lanes as well. The defender is almost never in a stance when u get the ball and has to react off balance to whatever move u make once u get the ball
i don't know why, but this video just made my day! thanks for the great advice and tips!!
This gonna blow up for sure thanks for the vid.
we all need a player like Draymond Green. He is just an amazing team player.
His sprinting angles are STUPIDDDD lol
For real!!
And those casual haters say the only thing he can do is shoot🤣😭 they know nothing about basketball and just showing jealousy on a man’s greatness
Nice, the problem is how to get ball hogger to pass to me after I run around the courts twice and wide open. XD
i think a large part of it is gameplan. All warriors players screen when they see Curry coming towards them, which helps him get the space he needs.
Preciate you coach!! These definitely are something to try , the success may also depend on your basketball’s team offensive scheme
honestly i can see why steph lacks on the defensive end, given that he moves around a lot and doesn't have much energy when it comes to defense.
Love your breakdowns. They always help my game by watching right before I play.
The video I needed!!!
Keep up the great content!
What he lacks in quickness and agility he more than makes up for in IQ. I'm appreciative of this video as it shows how Steph works to tire out and confuse defenders. And let's give props to Dell. That quick release and mastery of using screens came directly from him.
Can you please do a video of a kobe/jordan drive to the basket? They always are able to finish and I would like to implement it into my game.
The key to all of this is BE IN GREAT SHAPE you have to have a lot of stamina to do this
Just came from the clips on iG. Great video man! I have been looking for off ball movement film for a while now.
You are my favorite person to watch with basketball research and breakdowns
This epic.. now if u can break down his signature stepback
Curry also sets screen. He would come off these screen for back door lay ups and open shots
Curry might carry the warriors to the playoffs🤭
he will :)
The best breakdown channel 🔥🔥
He gets open so much cause NBA is just a show. If you want to watch real basketball college is where it’s at
just to clarify,Steph Curry gets open as easily as he does because he is as good as he is,if you’re not shooting great no player is gonna guard you up and fall for every hesi and shot fake you do
I get what you're trying to say, but youre all wrong. The fact that Steph is so good is why defenders are doing everything in their power to stop him from getting open. The bad players are the ones defenders leave open.
vinuzo you just put in other words exactly what I said lmao
defenders will always be on the tip of their toes against steph
@@johanserna356 no they won't and dont.
@@johanserna356 I get what you mean and I think you are partially right. On one side, defenders are more likely to bite the fakes and hesis that Steph throw at them because he is so dangerous. But on the other hand defenders also give 300% effort when guarding him, making getting open extremely difficult. If I step on the court I can get open for every play, because I suck at shooting, so technically it is easier for me to get open than Steph, who really has to work for every shot opportunity
What's the song playing in the background?
Bro curry gets half of the whole team deep in
"It's really not that difficult"
Umm yes it is!
one thing to say though is none of his burst plays would happen without the communication from his teammates
No this shit may easy but it's not. It's actually difficult. He just makes it look easy. He's mastered this and everyone hasn't or can't do it like he does. His execution is second to none. Everyone can't execute this to his level. Also his conditioning is crazy. To be able to keep moving like this every game takes great conditioning. It's amazing how he's able to consistently do this. I like what the video shows but it's more to it than this. He also does other things moving without the ball that isn't shown.
it's very obvious, the moving screen
So they key is for your teammates to set screen
Can you do a breakdown of how he’s been scoring so well and his go to moves ?
First can you make a Stephen curry attention detail I think every undersize guard should study his game
main problem why I can not get open and score are my teammates lol
Ph here best channel after many years mark my word iwill become nba player
Moving screens the warriors players set everytime are also very helpful
First shot crazy nonchalant. Insane amount of skill.
but the thing is my coach doesn't design a play for someone to screen for me to shoot a 3
His foot works is mad
His foot work is mad
video request could you do something on maximizing your steps to get to the hoop
Can u plz do a video like how he gets open but instead with him with the ball like isolation
can you post screen tutorials both on and off ball please thankss
Bruh half those shots weren’t open he’s just too good
Make a video on tutorial of kyrie and kobe fadeaway
I think Steph can be in the play anywhere in the court
Him and R.I.P was the best at doing this
I'm always open
Cool
make a video of a workout working on defense
great coaching
I like stephs movement but this should expose just how bad and inconsistent the nba defense really is for its level.
Defending off ball movement is always tough regardless of how good of a defender you are. If the person you are defending knows how to bait you into running into screens and your teammates don't communicate that effectively then your done. And if there are multiple screens in a set that are staggered all it take is one miscommunication on one of them for the defender to be done. Plus it requires the stamina to chase a player who is in constant motion with or without the ball.
Nothing but facts.
yeah but whenever I play basketball with my friends they don’t even give me space to dribble
use jab steps, draw fouls, hit them with hezis and create your own space
Really interesting :)
Bro, i got a very important question.
If i use my left hand more frequently in the day or learn how to write with it will that help me in the court
nah just do mokan drill tbh. left and right hand layups under the rim
Imma need this today lmao thank u
Also he getting right in time passes !!!
All I saw was hella moving and illegal screens
*buckets
we need a darius garland breakdown
And now they clinched the 8th seed
How to get open off the dribble
Can u make a video all about audio cues? So that i can use it when I'm playing alone.
What are audio cues?
A1 content brother
Don’t get me wrong Curry the GOAT of shooting but I wish we could see him play somewhere else to see him hoop in a different offense and with someone not like Draymond who looks for him every single play
Try watching his playoffs or play in general in 2013. Dray was just drafted and nowhere near as good as 2015. Klay was still young and got buckets but was way worse finishing at the rim and had worse defense.
