THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU for making a video that goes to the point (no chit-chat for 7 minutes), showing step-by-step directions (really well documented and shown) and finally for providing feedback of what to get if we need to do more detailed job on tile cutting. THHHHHAAAAANNK YOU!!!!!!!!!
Leah - once again you have saved me from a padded cell. I'd never done tile before, and you're the only person who mentioned "you only need one pass of the blade". Now my manual tile cutter is working as expected. Thank you! and Merry Christmas!
4 years late to the party, but honestly one of the best instructional videos I have seen. THANK YOU! I think Travis Jansen said it best, just easy to listen to and understand!
You certainly are an excellent teacher. I've occasionally seen many of your videos, first thing that came to mind, oh it's her, in a positive way. Stay blessed.
I have done several DIY home projects with just the guidance of your great videos. You have a knack for explaining things without all the fluff and round about. Your tutorial on doing a skim coat was magical
This is a very old video, but the knowledge is still so useful! I got a tile cutter and the instructions weren't great. I'm so happy I found your video, as I now I understand how to use it!
Thanks for the tips. I like the way you explain it in your videos. I started 6 years ago - saw your video on drywalling when I purchased my first house. I didn't want to live in the dorms or rent so I purchased a fixer upper. I went to college, went to work and on the weekends worked on my house. Saw many of your videos to help me along the way. In 2018 I ended up selling that house for almost triple what I got it for, and I now do flipping full time. I don't do the work anymore, but I still come back time to time to teach myself when I do work on small projects here and there. Thanks again, and cheers!
This worked great for redoing the shower/bathtub of my kid's bathroom. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I didn't like the guide, so I took it off. I just used a fine tipped sharpie on the tile and followed that line. It does make a wet mess, and once I started looking like I wet myself I started wearing a towel and apron while cutting. The blade it came with worked great until we wore it out. It was better than the replacement one we bought. I tried looking for just their blade, but failed. Not really for larger tiles unless you stack stuff on either side to support the tiles. Anyway, would definitley buy again.
THANKS Leah. You have saved me for a SECOND time. Your videos make the unfamiliar easy and simple. You have saved me from stress and spending too much money on electric tools. God bless you.
Thank you Lea, gosh I have had a tile cutter for two days from HD and have put off cutting my tile due to cut '2' and they came out great then cut another '2' and they DIDNT ! I watched three other video's 'men' showing how to use the tile cutter and they did not have the detail that your video did. So I had gotten discouraged and kept putting off finishing the job, then I found your video , EUREKA !!!! not only do I know where i was going wrong but I now am excited again about finishing my job. Thank you so much had I noticed that there was a video by a woman I would have watched yours first Im now a subscriber to your channel and will make you my go to place for instruction of this kind in the future. Great job thanks a million lady :)
I would like to thank you 1,000 times. I am a retired chef who knows nothing about DYI home repair. I am replacing a vanity in a bathroom. Of course there's no tile under it. I needed about 8 tiles cut. I was going to buy a diamond wheel to cut tile, attach it to my drill and try that. I didn't want to rent a machine for 8 tiles. So, I watched this video and I bought a manual cutter. $45 at home depot. It was PERFECT for what I needed. Thanks again. Many thumbs UP ↑.
i work at an industrial tech shop and your videos helped me tremendeously so i can explain the stuff we're selling to the buyer without looking like an idiot. big thanks!!
Linda I like your videos because you give the information straight forward with no additional funny lines or antics. I get very good step-by-step information that is very informative and helpful.
I am removing my old granite base board and adding new tile to the existing tile and I don't know anything about cutting tile. But this video made the "lining up" so much easier. I had to use a flash light to make sure the blade was in the right place -- I cut my first tile perfectly - now just 26 more tiles to go. Thank you.
Excellent video. I love the fact that you explain things so well. As you scored the tile I was thinking that if it was scored a few times it might make for a guaranteed clean cut but just as I thought this you said don't do that. It's like you know what temptations people have and warn against it. I appreciate that.
Thank you for making this video. I had never used a tile cutter before, and even looking at the thing I couldn't imagine how it worked. After watching the video I couldn't believe that's how you did it, but I did exactly like Jane in the video and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
Fantastic video. Thank you so much for the great explanation. I rented a tile cutter and was able to flawlessly cut 1 tile to finish my bathroom renovation. Many many thanks!
Thank you Lia. The tile cutter which i purchased from B&Q, ( macallister cutter) came with no instructions whatsoever and to someone who has never done tilling before i didnt know where to start until i saw your easy to understand footage, thank you so much, the bathroom is looking good!!
Your awesome! I love that you explain in a way even a novice can understand. No matter what project I'm working on, I look to you first to help me understand. Thank you!
Thanks for the great video, I was using my new manual tile cutter wrong (starting at the wrong end and not getting good results). I was reading to chuck it out. But now I see what I was doing wrong and it doesn't take as much effort as I was exerting. First time tiling and was beginning to think I should never have tried to do it by myself. Now I am so happy to have been able to do it and have the floor look good.
Thanks, Leah. I just bought my first linear tile cutter and it didn't come with any kind of instructions. So naturally I came straight here to get the inside scoop on how to do it right. Thanks for the help.
Thanks dear, you pop up in my search results often and never disappoint. I knew how to use my breaker, but I had a helper asking how to use one while I was doing a truss on the garage addition. I looked up the video and threw him my phone. Now I’m just trying to find a video that teaches common sense to adults.
Thank u so much your video has made me to cut a tile for the fist time of using the manual tile cutter, your video is so simply and strightfoward to follow ❤❤❤❤❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You’re the best! I’m DIY doer because if your help and encouragement! I’ve fixed tools, learned how to use tools and started project that I thought I’d never attempt. Muah!!
Pretty simple I was told these tile cutters were garbage. I’ve never personally used one until tonight and watching this video made it a lot easier. I always use a wet saw. But for doing straight runs and for starter pieces this method was fast. Thanks for showing this video
Straight to the point. I have a manual tile cutter as well, and was wondering if I was doing it right. You used one time scoring. I'm going through it 3 or 4 times. Didn't even think of putting the pressure to snap it.
Hi Leah, greetings from Melbourne Australia! Thank you for the tutorial. I borrowed one of these from my local tool library but had no instructions or clue how to use it (lol)! Looking forward to finishing the job tomorrow. thanks again!
Wow thanks... I had one of these with no directions and had no idea what I was doing. I thought you had to saw at least 1/4 through the entire tile or something. This has saved me hours (who knows maybe weeks...) and I'm going through these tiles like a machine now.
thank you for posting this! I was hesitant to try and tile our kitchen back splash myself, but this video makes manual tile cutting a lot less intimidating so I think I'll give it a shot. Thanks Lea!
Thank you, Leah! The instructions that came with mine are garbage and it wasn't working the way I thought. Now I see how to line it up correctly - not sure I did that because I was just following a terrible little diagram. Your scoring demo helped, too...hoping it works this time! Love all your videos, by the way.
Thank you so much! Me and my husband is in the process of laying ceramic tile. We bought this cutter the instructions does not tell us nothing you have shown me. Since I've watched this now I got it! Thanks so much! #womencandoittoo
This is great, I'm doing a tile in the kitchen and I had nightmares of the neighbors screaming when I used a loud wet saw, but I'll just use this manual tile cutter instead! The room is square with really no crazy shapes. Looks much easier than I thought it would be, thanks for the video!
It works every time when we follow your instruction. I have started to install the tiles this morning and it works perfectly. I'll try to find if you have some tips on how to apply the glue to the floor.
Do you think I could use this for cutting straight llines for cardboard ? Or is that material to soft? It would be much safer then a blade. Thank you so much
Thank you Leah, awesome video. Bought very similar for $26 at Bunnings (Australia) and worried that I might need pincers to snap. I only need to cut three. Fingers crossed you make it look so easy, obviously a pro.
Thank you so much for all your instruction videos. Once I watched one of your videos to help me re-caulk our bathtub and it came out so well that my husband said "if he didn't know any better, he would think a professional had done the job".

seejanedrill you are the best!
I agree, super helpful video with no fluff!
Totally agree. Sometimes you’re already in the middle of the task and just need a quick help through. You make that happen without all the chatter.
Jane, Jane, Jane. I cannot thank you enough. 7 videos and no one explained as well as you. No more drafting, now I CAN DO. Again, thanks!
Leah - once again you have saved me from a padded cell. I'd never done tile before, and you're the only person who mentioned "you only need one pass of the blade". Now my manual tile cutter is working as expected. Thank you! and Merry Christmas!

Parents where arguing for 2 hours because they thought their method was best. Showed them this video; they shut up and got to work. Thank you :3
Well played, Demeter!
@@dimwitsadvocate6264 I remember this day.
@@Demeter454 Lol How did the project come out?
@@DavidAneru90 it came it great, they followed instructions, completed the bathroom tile and the balcony.
i remember the good old days of arguing with my parents over the best tile cutting method - then like all normal teens i went out, got high and laid
Every time I need to do something around the house- I know that I can watch your videos for tips and help. Really appreciate your videos!

Been watching you for years. Needed a refresher on this device that's been hanging on m6 garage wall for a decade. Great video! Thank you.
What a doll you are!!! Thank you so much, got my tiling job done perfectly. But as you say, as long as you are making straight cuts only. Wonderful.

Thank you Leah, you are more help than the store's own helpline.

Wow thank you Jane! I’m attempting my first tile project and found your video to be exactly what I needed!
Cheers, I had it mostly sorted but I couldn't figure out what that piece was that snaps the tile before this.
Thumbs up.
lol if I hadn't seen people use them before I probably would have had no idea what that was either.
Thanks Leah for the beginner instructions...now I am ready to cut and finish my very small bathroom project!!!! You rock!

I NEVER comment on videos, but you are amazing. Thank you!!
Thank you
Your video is very helpful for those of us that are novices. Do you have any suggestions as to what I could use to cut 1/4 inch off a 4x4 tile?
Blondmema A cut of that size would require a wet saw.
Thank you Leah, awesome video. Bought very similar for $26 at Bunnings (Australia) and worried that I might need pincers to snap. I only need to cut three. Fingers crossed you make it look so easy, obviously a pro.
Another great video. They are direct. Accurate and very informative. Thank you.
Thank you! No Bloke Waffle, gets straight to the point. Excellent demo, focus on the job not the person. Excellent Vid and it helped me,

Thanks for the refresher, this was all I needed! Now to get cutting
