      Yeah UA-cam was the hard one for me because I would always justify it for also being educational which it is, but only if you have strong willpower and don’t fall in to the distracting videos.
      For me I still have UA-cam (obviously lol) but I set limits on what I watch and for how much I watch it. I try to only watch educational videos on things to improve video quality and stuff like that.
      UA-cam and social media aren’t bad, just how we use them :)

    I appreciate this type of video from a small UA-cam creator such as yourself. I got my first phone at around late 13 during 8th grade, all I remember was just the slow realization that I was starting to become so addicted and that it would make me upset and dissatisfied with myself for wasting so much time consuming so much brainrot. Not only that but the weird ass communication games people play on socials was also very draining for me. And so not too long ago I decided to just let go of most forms of social media. Like what you said, “forced you to be in the moment; look at the world around you”, it’s literally what I do now as opposed to go on my phone and scroll. It’s interesting to be honest, because now you start to appreciate the details you once missed and you also notice the habits others have, like I always see people just scrolling and scrolling 24/7 on their phones. It’s been a few months, and now being at the age of 18, it does suck because the majority of our youth use that to communicate, but overall has allowed me to feel more connected to the world, and also to myself. I really appreciated your words and keep it up gang, keep thriving and hoping the best for us all going forward. Great content eughhhhh!! 🏆🙏

      first of all, thanks so much for the kind words and meaningful comment! really does mean a lot 🙏🏾
      Im really glad that you were able to experience the beauty life without socials at an early age, some people go their whole lives without ever disconnecting... You should also be proud of yourself for noticing the brain-rot and negative effects of social media as early as you did, that in itself shows you're not like most people and I think that's what people should strive for. I also totally get it when your the only one without a phone in your hand scrolling and everyone else around you is just scrolling. It like were the odd ones out for just tryna enjoy the beauty in the world lol.
      You mention that the majority of our youth uses it to communicate and this is 100% true. However, one of the best outcomes of deleting my socials is seeing who my true friends are. Pretty much all of the youth uses social media but who is willing to get your number and stay in touch with you. Probably should have mentioned it in the vid but getting your number and using the messages app is only a few extra steps, but it is enough for people to stop staying in touch. The people willing to take these few extra steps and keep staying in touch with you are the people who care about you and you should keep these people close (obviously use your best judgement with ppl).
      I really appreciate you for watching and really wish the best for you. We're both so young and now is our time to make a name for ourselves and your already ahead of 99% of people who waste hours mindlessly scrolling. Keep working hard, rooting for you gang! 🙏🏾🔥

    I deleted for about 3-5 months tiktok in 2021-2022 and i remember it was a great experience but then i downloaded back. But i noticed that my vocabulary started to be really bad and i couldn’t focus on a video that lasted more than 3 minutes. So I decided to delete tiktok again in April but during the holidays i downloaded again but i deleted again and it’s been 2 weeks and i can fell that i don’t need this app anymore and i try to learn some new vocabulary, i try to improve my language and learn again my korean because i started to study this language in 2021 but with school and because « i didn’t have time » = social media, i stopped.
    Anyway that was experience but great video !!!
    Btw sorry for my English im french

      Thanks for sharing your experience!
      Social media has a really toxic way of putting people in and out of that loop. But good on you for noticing the negative effects and doing something about it. Most people either don’t see the constant distraction as a problem or they just don’t have enough self control and self power to delete the app. Your already way ahead of so many people.
      Also good on you for learning languages! How is that going for you? How is your social media usage now?
      Thanks for stopping by!

      @@kinghan26 Hey no problem ahah if it can help people !
      But rn i just realise that i try to scroll everywhere i can just because I think im addicted to the movement or something but i hope in the future it will stop. It’s like i have nothing to do but i will scroll on my photos or something like that.
      And idk if it was about the language but i try my best to study at least 1 hour /day my Korean, step by step ! :)

    What about UA-cam? Is it social media? I recently deleted my Instagram account permanently. Only one app i got stuck that is UA-cam. What should i do?

    • @kinghan26
      @kinghan26  Місяць тому

      Apologies for late response. Technically UA-cam is a social media but it’s different in the sense that there is an actually beneficial factor to you. You can use UA-cam to genuinely learn and practice new skills.
      One can argue that the same can be dint in tiktok or Instagram but it’s not quite the same because of the nature of short form content. You watch a short video and by the nature of short form, you forget it almost instantly.
      Because of this I still think that UA-cam is beneficial. However, it’s ultimately how you use it. One can still use UA-cam to binge watch useless stuff and just waste time. It’s all about how you use it :)

    have you ever felt less connected with your friends since deleting it?

    • @kinghan26
      @kinghan26  3 місяці тому +2

      I definitely felt a disconnect with a lot of people but never with my true friends. My true friends all have my number and was able to stay in touch. The people that I have disconnected from were "acquaintances" at most, people that we just mutually follow. The real friends you have/make will never be disconnected from you.
