Thanks for watching. Man I’m lucky that my father in law live on the island so I try to get out when I can. Bass fishing and hunting redfish are definitely my favorite
Subscriber from Charlotte as well! Be headed down to Oak Saturday going to try and get the Yak out a lil, might be a little early in season but we will see’
What kind of bait were you using whenever you caught the reds? I noticed that you had a cork and then after the cork was about 2 feet and then there is your hook I just couldn’t tell what was on it. Thank you.
Thanks for watching. I believe I was using shrimp but I would recommend live mullet, pogy , blue crab chunk or shrimp Or cut bait like mullet is good too. Reds love that stuff
Nice video man. I’m planning to go to Oak Island this May for a weekend, what are some good lures or bait for reds? I’m just gonna be fishing from the bank
Thanks for watching. Get you a popping cork and a cast net and get some live bait if possible, mullet, shrimp, also white paddle tail swimbaits on a jig head 1/4 ounce
Great video. I’m new to kayak fishing. Just picked up my first one and have a house in Oak Island. Interested in your put in and fishing locations along with bait/rig. Ty!
Thanks for watching . I put in at the boat ramp on 55th street north east . I’d recommend using white paddle tail swimbaits and a popping cork with a live bait or dead shrimp. You can get the popping cork’s at any tackle shop. Check out oak Island sporting goods
@@HooKSetzWithRyan thanks man. So you’re in the ICW for most of your fishing? Any spots in Davis canal? House is on the beach side between 40-44SE. I have a Cajun popping cork and cast net for live shrimp at 40th canal park and set a minnow trap in the canal across from the house. Always get plenty of live bait.
@@dougpt10 I’d recommend the point too for fishing early mornings. I’ve only caught flounder in Davis canal. Check out the Montgomery slough that’s part of the canal.
Nice red !

@@HooKSetzWithRyan thanks. Mostly surf fish around 36E or off docks in the ICW and have a friend on Davis around 25w I can always fish or out in at.
Bait this year was so small
That hole can be fire using live bait
How about not posting spots publicly for the whole world to see. Loose lips sink ships…common sense dude.
