As an old person, I'm gratified that you appreciate The Beatles music. I was 14 when they hit it big in the U.S. One of the secrets that I never heard them speak about was that they didn't have a formula - i.e. almost every song they recorded was different from every other. Many people don't realize that songs recorded at the time of this release were not overdubbed - the song as you hear it is them really playing as a band - 1 take - not a mix of multiple takes.
Sean Connery did a version of In My Life. He basically narrated the words to the beautiful music. I’ve always loved that one and with his recent passing, it will make chills all over. It’s worth your time to check it out as a TRIBUTE to Sean Connery
To be honest with you I just zipped through the song to your reaction to this beautiful song. Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the 60’s and 70’s to those beautiful days in my life of people I knew that are no longer here and who are part of my memories now. So when I hear this song on the radio I turn it down because honestly, it hurts. Anyway, thank you so much for your reaction and for what you do. The Beatles to me, the best group ever.
Very thoughtful video. Good, honest comments and NO histrionics. Thanks for that. I was in third grade when the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. I loved them then and in the almost 60 ensuing years my respect and appreciation have only grown.
I love the Beatles. Their music has been a part of my life since is was a small child. Some of the best music of all time. Let it Be is one of my all time favorite songs ever.
You certainly chose a gem. Brilliant all way round. I particularly luv the drum beat, tone,& the way it was recorded. Very therapeutic to play on drums. The meaning of this song only becomes more relevant w/ the passing of time.
Taking a Beatles Music course for college right now. One doesn't just listen to The Beatles, they "experience" The Beatles. They truly are a great band. Hope you keep going down that rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed.
Hi Wilburn, welcome! Just be real. Enjoy what moves you. And speak your truth and you'll be all right. 'Cause it's the discovery of new music in real time. We who have been there, heard it, enjoy sharing it with a new generation. It is an honor and a joy for me. So, just do your thing.
I realized that since I had no older brother(s) when I was a kid, The Beatles were my substitutes and I hung on their every word from age 7-13. Pretty good role models.
This song is played very often at Funerals, because it expresses what we mean to one another. I'm old enough now (64) to really appreciate what John Lennon was trying to say in this song. So many different people pass through, or come into our life. Read the lyrics. They are so Beautiful. Ironic, that John was shot to death in front of his New York apartment Building about 15 years later. Watching Monday Night Football, when the announcers read the news bulletin during the game. It sort of shocked everyone. This is a truly beautiful and heartfelt song from John Lennon.
One of their greatest, but then everything they did was their greatest. I had a similar feeling as you when I first heard it, in 1965. It's a work of genius, nothing less.
When they came to the States in 64 it was a game changer so many stars from the time recognise across musical genres. They opened the door to so many through their covers of American R and B and Rock and Roll along with their own originals. I watched them on TV with my parents that first time on Ed Sullivan when they stormed the globe. Enjoy all your musical discoveries which bring so many of us back in time and open up a treasure trove for millennials.
I enjoy/big fan of your channel and reactions. I appreciate your honest feedback, research and RESPECT you give to the different artists and genres you’re exploring. Enjoy your journey - I’ll be riding with you

And thank you for not talking over it or stopping mid-song to make a comment! Therefore, I have now subscribed to your channel. 😀
IF I were to have a song played at a memorial for me , it would be Golden slumbers and the remaining of the Abby road album. You would think that the songs are a lullaby, instead think of them as a funeral march and it fits so very well . Once you look at it that was , it too can bring tears.
When we first heard this song on the LP it was just a nice beatles song but as the years have gone on it has stood the test of time and like a fine wine is now one of the best bealtes songs along with yesterday, let it be and Hey Jude,

Please remember that we oldies soaked these singles up aurally, in the car, at parties, in our rooms staring at the ceiling... There were no visuals. Our imaginations were free to fill in the blanks and make these songs our own. Freddie sang that radio would still be around “when we grow tired of all these visuals.”
@@renekarser6495 I heard a critic once say George Harrison was a gifted songwriter who from that point of view was unfortunately in a band with Lennon and McCartney .
Beautiful song. It grabs you from the first line - "Something in the way she moves attracts me like no other lover". What better way is there to communicate the mystery of love?!
The Beatles are well known for their harmonies, as you have noticed. If you want to hear a magnificent example of that, listen to IF I FELL. About this song, what I admire most and find almost unbelievable, is how, at 24 - 25, they could write a song like this, looking back at things that usually happen during our lives. They have taken the viewpoint of someone much older, who has lived long and has seen how places change and some people we once knew have moved away (or we've moved away) and some friends or loved ones have died. I heard this song when it came out and I was in my teens (in 1965 I was 17) and it didnt have the impact it has now, at 73, when Ive seen how places change so much and even disappear, places that were important parts of my life. Ive also lost the friends I had way back when, as I grew up and moved away, and ive also had a friend of more than 30 years die. Love has also taken a long path and there was always that one that stands out above all the others. But for a kid (believe me, at 25 we're kids) to think like this is amazing to me. Yes, the Beatles are very special, not only in how good their music is, but in how it evolved so much in the space of the very few years they were together.(only 6 or 7 years). But even though their songs are so different, you can always say "THAT is a Beatles song". Oh, and a little "tidbit" of info about John Lennon : He made it cool for guys to wear glasses . Up to that point, it was considered uncool and unsexy to wear them. Even John himself hardly ever wore his old black plastic ones, certainly never on stage. With the advance of psychedelic culture, young people tried all different styles. John came out on the cover of the SARGENT PEPPER album wearing his now iconic round wire rim glasses. Immediately we all went and got wires, which could be bought in antique shops and never again felt goofy about wearing glasses. I even had a friend who bought a pair and had plain glass lenses put in, because he had perfect vision !
I really liked your critique on this great Beatles song, one of many, many! I liked how you talked about not just the musicality, but also the importance of the words. You are correct when you say it's a poem set to music. One thing you should always remember about the Beatles is, nothing is simple or just repetitive. If they repeat a chorus, they always add another harmony part, a dynamic, an instrument, or some other interesting sound, even handclapping. Their music always sets a mood, and includes many different genres and themes. Creativity is key when you're listening to them. Each song is so different from another. I grew up listening to them. I was age 10 when they came to America. And all I can say is, WOW!
One of the reasons the Beatles were so great is that they were one of those bands that changed the conversation. If you look at their first hits, I Want to Hold Your Hand, and Please Please Me, they are simple, rough, fun rock-n-roll songs. But they rocked harder by far than what had come before. It was mind blowing at the time. And as they grew they got experimental and led the music revolution of the 60s. Picking songs from early, mid, and late sixties will give you a different band.
You have to remember that these guys grew up in working class Liverpool, got popular there, went over to Germany for a while to do some gigs, and then came back and became world famous! I mean, what a rags to riches story. I think that's what captivated a lot of us in those early years. That along with that neverending stream of music that kept up for the next 10 years all the way through the '60s. I was 13 when the Beatles hit big in the States and I saw the girls my age and their reaction to the Beatles. First thing I wanted to was learn how to play a guitar! And I did. But I was 21 the year they broke up.
This song is from Rubber Soul released '65 a break-through album in the Beatles' musical evolution. So from this time / album onward "it keeps getting better all the time"
These videos make me as a listener concentrate on the song, and what struck me on this one ( after hearing it hundreds of times in the past ) was Ringos drumming! Fascinating.

So many different Beatles.......this is just one of many many DIFFERENT songs, masterpieces.
How bout that harpsichord? Only solo I know of.
My favorite ❤❤
This song would be a number one today. I truly believe that
fun fact: it was never released as a single
There is a Beatles song for everything and for every occasion they were just brilliant, they gave a huge push and gave people the drive to change the world for the better.
So beautiful. A perfect song written at age 25 by John
Most of their work is timeless and will always be.
beautiful song, fantastic band... and that footage that looks like a riot, were Beatles fans at a concert. it was mayhem..they were so loved, always. So glad I was around at the start to see them evolve. Their music is timeless. React to as many as you want to...so many to choose from. My favourite John Lennon song is 'Love"..so simple yet so profound.
I love this song so much, I had it played during my wedding. I love the Beatles and John is awesome.
Beatles are one of my favorites, been listening to them since early 70's. I'm 58 now
Very thoughtful video.
Superficially it sounds nostalgic, but actually it's more about honoring the past while moving on to the present and future.
Thanks for your honesty and talking and listening to The Beatles
Taking a Beatles Music course for college right now. One doesn't just listen to The Beatles, they "experience" The Beatles. They truly are a great band. Hope you keep going down that rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed.
The Beatles changed music with their innovations it was amazing how Beatlemania went around the world they were putting out hits so fast
You're so lucky. I wish I was hearing the Beatles for the first time again. Give ' Something' and ' let it be' and go
I realized that since I had no older brother(s) when I was a kid, The Beatles were my substitutes and I hung on their every word from age 7-13. Pretty good role models.
Stunning absolutely stunning love it
This song is played very often at Funerals, because it expresses what we mean to one another.
I am your age, and I was watching the game when Howard Cosell made that announcement. When I read your comment, it brought it all back, sad memories.
Man I LOVE it when you smile as the harpsichord solo came in at 3:29. All my love to you! (Signed, white lady in SF)
Note for note, word for word this is my favorite Beatles song.
Some night be better overall, but this has so much goodness in such a short time!
I love in my life speaks to me
I enjoy/big fan of your channel and reactions. I appreciate your honest feedback, research and RESPECT you give to the different artists and genres you’re exploring. Enjoy your journey - I’ll be riding with you
I'm so glad you're doing the Beatles - they were a force to be reckoned with, for so long., with so many different styles.
Great review! My son "found" the Beatles on his own. He can't believe how many great, GREAT songs they put out in their short time! Thanks again!
I loved that you let the song play without stopping constantly to comment. I have stopped watching many reaction videos due to that.
The older I get the more I seem to relate to this song it’s one of those songs whenever I hear it it makes me think back over my life
It's a hell of an understatement on my part, but they knew how to craft a song.
Thanks for reacting to this Chard! I'm a new subscriber from Down Under! I grew up listening and enjoying the Beatles on the radio! Yes I'm old! Lol! Also I share a birthday with Paul McCartney Cartney! Our birthdays are BOTH 18th June! Thanks again! Stay safe and Merry Christmas from Australia.
This is my favorite Beatles song of all time! I actually have it written in my will that this is the song I want played at my funeral. Rubber Soul was, to me, their best album.
My favorite Beatles tune. Thank you.
Another superb song by the greatest band in the world!
More Beatles recommendations: She's Leaving Home, I Want You, If I Fell, and A Day In The Life. Oh and Strawberry Fields Forever.
This was one of three songs we had at my wedding, along with Queen’s You’re My Best Friend and Sting’s I Was Brought To My Senses.
When we first heard this song on the LP it was just a nice beatles song but as the years have gone on it has stood the test of time and like a fine wine is now one of the best bealtes songs along with yesterday, let it be and Hey Jude,
I've been watching you more and more thank you you're playing the song and you're in a little box that's how it should be you're not the star. I also think you truly appreciate music doesn't matter the color of their skin good music is good music thank you sir continue on and I will continue to listen
Nettles Till There Was You, beautiful song
something - the beatles, really good song, written by george harrison
George was the greatest beatle
@@vintagegoldenage - lol I heard that Shirley Bassey said that. Maybe they both did.
@@renekarser6495 - And friend to all Monty Python fans! Without his financial backing, no Life of Brian.
A lot of music, and change, in 6-7 years. goat band
Love that you appreciate music made with instruments.
In My Life, probably my fave, along with Nowhere Man, Elenor Rigby.
I adore this song. It is one of three songs I want played at my funeral!
It's a retrospective song! Reflecting on a certain part of one's life!
Amazing song. This is the song that really made me appreciate Ringo.
The piano bit in the middle is a piano played at half speed and spead back up
I thought it was a harpsichord for the longest time (30 years)
Amazing, always thought it was some virtuoso on the harpsichord.
Stunning!!! Only ABOUT 100 more great ones! "Happiness is a warm gun" one of my favs!👌😊 Great reaction!!
Whether you end up a Beatles fan or not, their music always seems to leave a smile on the face of the listener.
