To be honest, you have to be a bit daft to purchase any sorta property without having a look at it. Also, the couple's property was left in much better shape than many other flats I have seen in these videos.
My husband and I have been in our home for over 20 years. We bought it sight unseen. But we were going to live in it ourselves. And if we didn't like something we changed it. Our 263,000$ Has changed in the first years to 900,000$ and now 5 years later that has changed again to 1,000,000 and we will sit on it now to hand it onto our daughter and then our granddaughter and grandson. All they will need to do is pay the taxes and utilities. The house will have a clause on it that only blood relatives of ours can live in it and this will secure it for family members.
these single mothers on benefits is too common...where are the fathers and not paying child support...you chose to not be careful to get pregnant, but society has to pay for your mistake..sick of hard working taxpayers for other people and their stupidity 😮
Mikaya from Harrow council is brilliant, im a Landlord with all properties licensed, which means Fire alarms, inspections, escape widows, fire doirs,gas and electricity certificates and it makes me sick to death seeing other people abuse our systems and get away with it. Fine them and make the fines huge and ban them from operating!!!! 😡😡
Why does the UK have so many dumpy properties? Everyone seems to be sandwiched in small spaces, no real yards and no separation between homes. They also seem to be all old and moldy. What's the deal?

If nothing is done about landlords being responsible improving the conditions. I was wondering in the u.k. is the landlords going to be heavily fined. I’d say it would be in the us.(question). I'm a landlord and I would NEVER invest somewhere with horrible landlord/tenant laws like the UK. Waste of time and money. I am always willing to work with my tenants if they fall on hard times but they have to understand my rentals are a business NOT a charity
As they’re a business and an investment, then be ready to face losses as well. Don’t expect to capitalise your gains whilst your losses are socialised.
The slum landlords should be prosecuted and the tenants that don't pay rent should have a negative effect on their credit and have their wages garnished if they work.
I think with the flat owners can’t really go by pictures, they could of been years old. Why would you buy a property without even viewing it. The pictures are often taken from deceptive angles or very old. When I was recently going to rental inspections as a friend of mine was looking at places to rent. It was obvious the pictures were nothing like the actual property condition.
They saw it as an investment. Money coming in every month. Once I have the money, I'm planning to buy a flat in South of Spain. I currently live in Barcelona. It's not uncommon.

If you live in London, it can take you 2 hours to get from one part of London to another, is almost the same as traveling to another city. And yea, rules might differ, getting a tourist licence to rent out your flat in barcelona is almost impossible now, but if I buy a house in the south, the chance of getting it is much higher. Also taxes are cheaper in other parts of Spain. Sometimes its easier, sometimes harder, but it's defitnely not uncommon.
Shocking condition that flat and tenant just left, unbelievable. Even animals are far more cleaner than some people. The council should be shown photos of the state in which the bloke left the place in.
It’s unreal how the tenants have a zillion rights and the owners, none…plus the lost rent. I’m in the US..my parents bought a house to let then stepped into an absolute nightmare! The toilets were completely clogged up with cotton buds, someone had crashed their car into the front of the house, and someone else was doing motorcycle repairs in the living room! It cost my parents a fortune in repairs & took ages to get these people out.
I hope for the single mum and her daughters sake their able to find a lovely home. Possibly somewhere else. As for the property it’s self if it does deteriorate. I’d say the landlords renting individual units they will possibly looking at a lot of repairs. Inside. Possibly outside as well. Why on earth would you pay £750 to live in flat with a thousand other people? I know rent has gone up, and £750 is crazy for a room, but on top of that high rent you also need to share with 15 other people. Thats just ridiculous. And no tenancy agreement? This is why you sign a contract. I left London 8 years ago. I never looked back.

In most states here in states, a tenant my withhold rent is repair is not made
